today is basically how to um create an invoice generator right and uh this is how you do it for free um and so i'm going to use an example of in a trucking company but you can use it um however you want to um whatever your business is right because basically it's going to be uh similar things and also this uh template that i'm working off of i'll provide one for you so you can [Music] basically edit edit it however you want to edit it and once you get it once again all you'll have to do is it'll be locked where you can't edit it so if you just come over here to file and then uh it'll have uh make a copy right if you go over to make a copy you'll be able to duplicate this and then you can edit this out so right here some things you might want to edit is right here this has a company name right you can simply uh put your own whatever you want to put in there right just double click and then you can see you can come here and you can edit this if you want to right um now right what goes up here up here is going to be your name the name of this company is diversity trucking this is uh you know the the business address and the phone number right uh you want the date this right here will automatically calculate so whatever date is there uh it'll it'll populate today's the second of march so that's populated you have an invoice number you can put whatever you want then down here in this two area this is who you're going to who you're billing right so for example this is uh jeff jeffrey right that's the attention to this is the name of the company and then i like to put uh you know the email address of whoever's gonna pay the accounts right a lot of times in the in this trucking industry you will put um you know the accounts payable um email address right because you might deal with a representative but they're not the ones who actually do the accounting so i like to put the accounting people here just so uh when it comes time or anything happens i can be like this is how i can get to them quickly then i usually put uh the name or the address of the company and then down here you'll also see [Music] uh this is either uh you put the phone number of the company or the the rep that you were dealing with then down here you can change these items here you just simply click and you can let's say i didn't want gas i could put uh miscellaneous right oh we don't want that sorry about that right we put miscellaneous um so but that's not what i want to do right and if i want to just undo that i undo it over here this you can calculate this on how many hours uh you know with the hourly rate so let's say for example you're doing something like some video production and let's say the rate is going to be i don't know 100 an hour right and let's say you work for two hours boom so that's going to be 200 and then you can see it it added up right but that's not the case here in the trucking industry right usually there's a load rate right and so whatever that load is i usually just put one hour and then i put the how much the load is and then boom it adds that then you're all there uh if there's taxes right you can put a uh let's say it's we'll do three percent let's say you have a three percent service tax you can put it in there and it'll automatically add in there but i have zero so i keep it at zero um interest charges due to late payment if there's some interest charges in there then boom then down here this is where i put uh this is kind of added into up here so whatever you put here this is going to come down here to uh how the checks are going to be cut right and then a lot of times what i like to do is i like to put little notes especially in the trucking so i put hey this load went from walnut california to san diego california and then i put the load number so they know um and then you can put whatever you need to put in there you know so it makes sense for you and then we'll also um just so you know uh everything is it looks good for formatting wise right i'll have it where everything looks good there so that's basically how you um you know how to come up with the invoice where you can easily do it uh yourself all you would do is once you need to create another one of these you'll simply open this up file hit make a copy right you can title it however you want to title it and uh then you have the same thing you just need you'll just need to make minor adjustments maybe you know instead of the low being 500 low was like 3 000 and you would just make that a change right you would also just have to change the invoice right instead of it being 2020 maybe it'll be 3000 and then you just edit this right and then you make your little edits here and then bam you got another invoice now a lot of times you when you send it over you don't want to leave it in this format so what you can do is simply uh hit file go over to download and then i usually export it into a pdf and so once you uh that export into a pdf take a look at it see how it looks and then uh boom hit hit export see pretty soon here it's going to come and generate this for me asked me how to save it give it a second here it's thinking and so boom then you can go ahead and just save that i'm not going to save it because i already have the awesome thing here is obviously if you're looking at this and you have any type of uh you have some type of
