[Music] hey guys welcome back to my channel in this video i'm going to be talking about something that is super super super important if you have an online business or a small business or any kind of business that requires you to make and send invoices asking for money getting paid can be a bit of a stressful process because that is one of the most crucial parts of having a business is getting paid so in order to make this process a little bit more fun and seamless for everyone this is my little hack for doing really nice looking invoices using canva so before i started doing this i was using invoices on paypal and paypal's invoice system works fine it adds up all the totals for you and they can just click on the link to purchase using paypal but then i found this other way where you can actually use any link that will take someone to your paypal account and they can pay you and you can put that link on any kind of document so we're going to make a super customized fully customizable invoice using canva and i'll show you how to do it anyone can do it and let's get started so first you're going to click the link in the description to go directly to the very easy to use design platform that we're going to be using in this tutorial which is canva and then we're going to make a flyer size document for business but instead of using any of these templates let's just design from scratch so now we're going to browse through the background options we want to pick something that's neutral and happy maybe something that's abstract with a positive feeling but still professional and then we're going to add a plain square on top and this is going to make our text area nice and clean the background is just for the margins and because i want this document to look happy but also professional i'm going to add one of these fancy little elements to my header and then here i'm just going to write the word invoice in a nice fancy serif font and now we're going to browse through the different text templates that are available there's so many to choose from and they actually have a few menu text templates that actually work perfectly for this because it has different items and different prices but i'm going to pick this one because it has a little description space underneath each item i'm a graphic designer so i definitely want to have a brief description of what's included in each service that is on the invoice then i'll put the client's name here at the top or their company name and i'll write each item the description and the price and if you need more space you need more items than that then just copy and paste the template text and you can delete the other title or the other text boxes as needed so then for the total i'm going to add everything up and i'll use the same font as the title this is just what i think looks nice and now here's the fun part you're going to indicate how much they're going to pay and when the payments are due you can add a specific due date or just charge 50 up front and 50 after delivery which is what i do sometimes and then i'll put another line of text with my business and contact details at the bottom and then the really fun part how to get paid how they're going to pay you so we're going to make another text line here it's going to have a link for a direct paypal payment it says click this link to make your payment and if you don't use paypal you use another payment processing service then as long as you can get paid via a specific link then you can put any link here but i'm going to show you guys how i set up my paypal link so i don't really have to set anything up chances are if you already have a paypal account you probably already have a paypal dot me link so i'm just going to show you guys how it works this is mine if anyone feels compelled to send me money you can definitely do so by going to this link just kidding but am i though anyway you can have a general link where they can just enter the amount that they're supposed to pay or you can write in the actual amount that you want them to pay and you do that by adding a slash and then the dollar amount number and that will generate an automatic payment amount when they go to the link so for example if i enter 647 after the link that's how much is going to appear in the payment box so for my sample i'm just going to type 500 and copy and paste that url into my canva design as a hyperlink where it says click here and so now it's underlined and it's all clickable so to use and send this file with the hyperlink in it you have to save the document as a pdf file so just download that and then when you email your client with the invoice you can just send it as an attachment and they will open it and be so impressed with how pretty it is and how smooth the payment process works and it's a file that they can keep for their own documents as well well i hope you guys enjoyed that quick tutorial on how you
