i recently got a question from a client who wanted to know if it's possible to collect payments on his wordpress website with a stripe and automatically send invoices for these payments and this client didn't have e-commerce setup it was just a simple product you wanted to sell online and this was some kind of downloadable product of some sort so yes it is possible and today i am going to show you how to automatically send stripe receipts for the payments made online on your website but not only it will also work for payments other payments made via stripe so how to automatically send receipts for payments made on your website via stripe uh here are the three things you need to have in place for automatic receipts to work number one have a product that you can sell or collect payments for this product online number two have your invoices and receipts set up number three have a correct email settings and this is the crucial part but for this to work you need first two steps to be done so the first thing is the product with the payment button i have a short video explaining how to create a button and collect payment and there should be a link on the screen right now if you if you want to click on it you can also find the link under this video in the description so the next thing is the receipt or invoice template so to set the invoice templates receipts you go to your settings invoice template and then from here you can customize your branding and you can customize your business information as well invoice numbering uh default memo and footer information for invoices and also in case on invoices that are paid manually you can customize payment terms this doesn't really apply for payments made online that will have receipts issued automatically and the last thing here you can customize is a tax information so by clicking on this and these hyperlinks you can customize various areas like add your colors logo and so on it's it's pretty self-explanatory and the last thing so the third step in enabling automatic receipts on stripe is to ensure that you have the correct settings so go to settings emails and in here on the screen toggling email customers about successful payments and refunds and then save always save your settings that's really important so once you have completed these three steps your customers will receive a notification that will look like this it's an example of what i've said for uh one of the clients and this is as you see with the branding applied product details it's a test product here and the customization uh that i've made for this particular client and you can also send receipts manually by going to payments so in here you will see the list of all transactions you can also preview by succeeded refunded and uncaptured but here basically mouse over the three dots at the end of the transaction line to see the quick menu arrow is to make a quick refund and then envelope this is how you send a receipt so you can also add when you click on that and you have this box and you can also add more [Music] email addresses here so yeah this is how you send receipts manually which is great to know but of course there is nothing better than automating your processes so follow the steps from this video to make sure that your customers receive emails receipts automatically without any additional work on your side and the steps are create a product that you can sell or collect payment for online on your website and have your invoices and receipts set up so if you want to apply your own branding and so on and step three is have correct email settings and make sure that you have enables email to be sent for invoices for for transactions successful and for for for refunds and that's it i hope that was helpful um if it was please like this video leave me a comment uh let me know what you thought and subscribe to my channel for more tips on wordpress and on using technology in e-learning
