in this video we're going to take a look at three useful documents to help get you started on your next freelance or solo consulting project we're going to cover a project agreement or contract we're going to discuss a bilateral nda and finally we're going to cover a simple invoicing template each of these templates can be found in the notion workspace linked to this video or to this block depending on where you're viewing but i do want to say up front that while i have used each of these templates in my own consulting business i am not a legal expert and they should not be taken as professional legal documents or templates please do seek out further advice if you have any further questions or specific requirements [Music] so first document on the list we're going to look at a project agreement template many of these areas or fields should be quite self-explanatory do look out for any highlighted text or large empty spaces as hints for where you can input your own information but very simply what this project is going to what this agreement is going to do is simply make it clear to both parties when this particular agreement is going to be active or effective for we're going to list the key services that will be provided we will make it quite clear what the client should expect to be delivered at the end of the project which if you're using the proposal template you can pull directly from those project deliverables listed we want to be clear about the fee that's expected along with any payments or payment plans that are specific to the projects you should provide your your bank details or payment details where they can can send the fee or installments on the project or on this agreement uh be clear about the term the effective date and when it's expected to end if that's appropriate and there are some basic details or agreements about how this how this agreement might be terminated um the relationship between parties and if you are comfortable and if you would like to update any of these areas please do check um that it is in the appropriate legalese and will cover you in any in any disputes um but these this should cover um the basic agreement information for any project based or consulting project the second document that we'll look at is a bilateral nda agreement once again i'm not a legal professional but i've been using this agreement myself in my own consulting business it's going to simply um it's effectively giving um both parties um assurances that any sensitive or confidential information will not be shared outside of the um the communication channels of the project and finally we will we have included a simple invoicing template if you're if you're just getting started with freelancing or if you're just getting into project based work or even um even billing hourly and sending an invoice to follow up uh with with your with your clients you can use this template you can again export as a pdf and send via email or however you're in communication with your clients you can use this table to calculate any totals you can list the price of each individual service it's best to itemize your services where you can if the quantity if you happen to be offering um an hourly or you happen to be billing hourly so you could you could list um web let's say web development service hours the quantity there can simply be the number of hours the amounts listed would be your hourly rate and the total will automatically count calculate how much you'll be billing the the client based on this invoiced item you'll want to give your bank details here and if you want to leave a nice message to your client with the invoice it never hurts so to recap you can use these three template documents to get started with a project agreement a bilateral nda for confident confidentiality purposes and finally a simple invoicing template which you can export as a pdf and send out to your clients again i will just reiterate that i'm not a legal professional none of these templates should be taken as professional legal documents however we hope that they will be a useful start for you and your next project [Applause] [Music]
