hi there Serena from Festival bookkeeping here late paying clients can cause cash flow problems for business owners so today I thought I'd show you an easy way to follow up those outstanding invoices in zero so we are going to start by going into our settings up the top here general settings and from general settings we want to go right down the bottom to our email settings here so click on that one and once we're in our email settings we want to go into templates so we click on templates and what we want to do is add a new email template so down the bottom here we click on that one and here we go the type of this email is actually going to be a sales invoice and we're going to give it our own name so I'm going to call this one friendly reminder so I'm just going to in the subject line I'm going to put over du invoice and I'm going to change my message I'm going to say something like this is a friendly reminder that the invoice is now over due the amount outstanding was due now you can see that these little placeholders here are automatically going to pick up the customer's name the invoice number and the invoice amount um as well as the due date which is really cool so I'm pretty happy with that now so I'm going to click save so we'll call this friendly reminder too now if I go back to my dashboard I'll show you the process of sending out those um reminder emails so in my dashboard I have got invoices Ed to me here so I'm going to click on these three overdue ones and once that opens we will have all the details of those three overdue invoices so here they are we've got Ridgeway University and two outstanding invoices to City limousines so I think I'm just going to send reminders to to um City limousines over here I click both of those invoices and then I select [Music] email now I want to change the email template to the one that we just created which was called friendly reminder to click on that one and I want to include PDF attachments and I like to send myself a copy as well so once we've done that it's just a matter of clicking on send and those reminder emails have gone off I hope today's video has helped you with your own bookkeeping to be kept up to date with my latest videos don't forget to subscribe to the festival bookkeeping YouTube channel and of course you can also connect with me via my other social media platforms as well
