I love that I can complete signatures and documents from the phone app in addition to using my desktop. As a busy administrator, this speeds up productivity . I find the interface very easy and clear, a big win for our office. We have improved engagement with our families , and increased dramatically the amount of crucial signatures needed for our program. I have not heard any complaints that the interface is difficult or confusing, instead have heard feedback that it is easy to use. Most importantly is the ability to sign on mobile phone, this has been a game changer for us.

so the other day Microsoft ran an ad for their AI assistant co-pilot in the Super Bowl and it got me thinking man with my spreadsheet skills and AI I'm going to be unstoppable watch me so let's put co-pilot to the test I got a set of financial statements here where's where's co-pilot okay I have to buy it 20 bucks a month all good no problem okay we got a button now what why is the why is the button grayed out use the power of AI to explore your dat co-pilot where's one drive or SharePoint what okay save one drive oh yeah welcome to the future the future is loading what why can't I only work in Excel table art insert okay all right got to make a table insert table all right it's kind of a table now let's do this oh baby analyzing my data what does that mean you have that's it you got you got the goods just look at the stuff I gave you uh as with virtually everything AI today copilot isn't quite as magical as the marketing makes it appear so we put four AI language models to the test across a bunch of use cases in Excel and Google Sheets to find out how AI can juice up them sheets whoa juice yes okay leave it in so the competitors number one the biggie Microsoft co-pilot specifically co-pilot Pro supposedly Reinventing knowledge work as we know it it's 20 bucks per user per month on a personal pro version 30 bucks per month for a business one but is it worth it next up chat GPT like co-pilot it has a $20 personal version and a $30 team like business version I'm just going to call chat GPT there's a whole bunch of different licenses For It generally what I recommend is chat GPT team it's got some added security features just know that what we're showing off today is not possible with the free chat GPT you got a pony up for it Google Gemini recently improved Bart is out everything's called Gemini they've got 20 and $30 versions as well they say they'll soon be rolling out an assistant built into Google Sheets much like co-pilot is built into Excel if you buy the extra thing honestly my hopes are not super hype for it right now the examples they've given us so far in the marketing are like super basic so in our testing we just used Gemini chat it's like their version of chat GPT and last but not least the fourth clad specifically the third version of their model that they just launched mere days ago that supposedly outperforms GPT 4 across like virtually every task this new model is called Opus I'll put a link to all four of these models down below and how to get to them cuz they're all good at different things but we put them through a bunch of different use case tests that were going to be this video I was going to do like this oh like all four of them battling against each other but like every single one but chat GPT just totally the bed now right now I recommend Claude the new one it is the best of the best for writing I recommend Gemini for Google Fanboys who won't use anything else and the same for Microsoft co-pilot I see you microsof is but I recommend chat GPT for anyone who wants an AI assistant that's actually useful sometimes so let's just blow through the foreplay and get right down to seven use cases for how chat GPT can support your spreadsh sheery number one reformatting data I got a balance sheet here and let's say I can only get it in a PDF the balance sheet we looked at earlier the one that we tried to get co-pilot to make sense of the reason that I actually couldn't read it was because it wasn't a structured data file like you know a database it had extra rows and stuff was organized different ways let's use chat GPT to actually take a balance sheet and turn it into into a crunch down CSV in this case I'm going to Chuck a PDF into chat GPT a PDF of that same balance sheet and say give me the data and a CSV download for all 12 accounts just give me their January and February balances no totals machine goes bur it's not bad I still got some of the rows and headers let me do a follow-up prompt remove those headers and total rows and testing this got right about 50% of the time the other half add to do a follow-up prompt and there we go those are the accounts in question that we want now this is an example of converting a report from one format to another and this is super common for accounts you got this app over here and that app over there you got to get it out of this one into a format that works in that one and if you're doing a bunch of month then closes you may have a bunch of examples of this well now that chat GPT has a team plan you can actually build processes like this into a GPT it's basically like a little app so for example we got this recurring process where we need to convert this report to a different format just like we did create a prompt for it maybe put a little more effort into it name it convert from from App a to app B and then share that GPT with the rest of your team anytime they got to do that conversion you've got an assistant there all you got to do is Chuck the file in and it will convert it for you now few weeks back we did a video on creating custom gpts from scratch super quick and easy no code required you just you literally telling the assistant here's what I want you to do but when you stumble into these cool use cases gpts are a great way to share them with the rest of your team now csvs are handy if you're going to import that file into another system but chat GPT will also let you download Excel files what chat GPT can make Excel files a can and as a result I often find myself actually starting a new Excel file from chat GPT so for example let's say I've only got a PDF of this list or I took a picture of it or something here you go p. PDF in chat GPD I can say give me an Excel file of this data there you go Bob is now your mother's brother I mentioned we could do this with pictures too check this out I took a picture of a planning session I did on a whiteboard here look upon my work I'm going to say give me these whiteboard notes in an Excel file there you go people don't talk about this enough Vision models like GPT 4V which is the vision model behind chat GPT now blows the doors off of OCR look at how bad my handwriting is here I'm a lefty on a whiteboard but the text that it pulled out is Flawless if you've got actually if you've got that partner in your office the yellow legal pad Guy where nobody can read his handwriting try plopping a picture of that into chat GPT and it will shock you how it can actually read better than many fellow human beings now with that in mind chat TPT can also be your eyeballs for example let's say I don't use Excel macros much but I'm feeling sweaty I'm using chat TPT to write a macro for me for the first time by default the macro options don't show up in any of your Excel ribbons just give us back to Old menus I still use 2003 I'm going to Chuck a screenshot of my Excel app in here and say why can't I find the macro options in Excel gives me big long explanation could be any of these reasons here it is I got to hop into preferences and check the box for the developer ribbon and now I've got these macro options an example in Google Sheets I want to indent some text I see this report from QuickBooks has it indented why can't I do this where's the option I take a screenshot and I'm going to ask chat GPT although traditional indent buttons are not directly visible in the standard Google Sheets toolbar they might be added through ex there's no what I I shouted what at it and it repeated itself that's funny okay on the subject of of chat GPT being your eyeballs if you've heard of AI agents this is actually how they work they see what you're doing and then figure out the next step on their own and go and click on it we've now got prototype AI agents that work autonomously on your computer this way open AI is said to be shipping one of their own this year really wild stuff it takes it from like cute chat assistant to oh this thing's just going to go just going to go do some work I did a whole episode of the podcast on it that I'll link right up here AI agent is going to be a big deal this year okay let's look at some tricky formulas I won't go too deep into this because I feel like formulas are the chicken parm of chat GPT use cases now also really good at explaining formulas to you if you inherit a sheet from someone else and are too shame ridden to ask I'm talking about you I'm not talking about me but to show you one quick example and some new functionality in chat GPT I've got a list here of full names but I need the first name and the last name Tay as old as time now that that's easy hear me out look at this I'll Chuck in a screenshot and ask for the formulas to get the first and the last name pop into Excel there we go both of those look fine not impressed hang on but we got some weird names in here like jtt I think Jonathan Taylor Thomas has two last names but let's just say that this is a middle name and we want to carve that out into a separate column I'm going to add a column to my spreadsheet and then go back to chat GPT let's create a new formula to pull the middle name in cases where there are three names and modify the last name column to only pull the last of the three names that anytime you like make a formula for this sort of thing it's always like well I never thought of that scenario and this is where chat GPT can be helpful to build a more complex version so check this out here's a new formula for the middle name and look at this big sweaty boy for the last formula it's a big boy now I can also just have it give me an Excel file with all the updated formulas like as the output and that's pretty handy the whole Excel export thing super useful and actually chat GPT will export a long list of file types from images to PDFs to zip folders audio files video files pickles because behind the scenes chat GPT has access to a long list of python code libraries and I know I just said something nerdy but a cool thing to understand about chat GPT is it is actually writing and executing python code to problem solve for you and it means you can do super high volume stuff as a result create 100,000 line CSV because it's being done programmatically but being overseen by the language model not actually creating it word for word by the language model and this means chat GPT can then do any of the things that the code libraries can do that it has access to so for example one of the PDF libraries it has will let you annotate PDFs like add arrows and lines and highlights and stuff so example create a new PDF file that's an empty letter sized page and use red lines and circles to draw me a smiley face top work old boy but you're probably thinking the same thing as me let's make it look more like Shrek how about a Green Ogre that looks like Shrek that's I mean that's a pretty good Shrek okay back to spreadsheets number six a data file explored check this out I've downloaded the bank rules from my Quickbooks file and this file on its own it is not readable by normies but let's Chuck it into chat GPT and make it readable for a dum dum like me so grabs each of the rules by name here you got the Home Depot rule has a $2,500 threshold lunch covers Panera or McDonald's Tim's Barber Shop goes to advertising it's visualizing this stuff for me in a way that I can understand and I could export like a simplified version of this to excel where me or my client could modify it troubleshoot it this is particularly useful when you're working with Legacy systems or gnarly erps that make these big old machine readable files that you can't really work with and don't forget you can also share any conversations you have in chat GPT with a colleague or a client one exception there is you actually can't share conversations that have images in them yet and it's a public link so be mindful of anything sensitive in there but if you got a client that uses chat GPT if you want to share something with a colleague remember you can actually share entire conversations now there are some pretty cool plugins doing new things with AI now a popular example here is called GPT for work and it lets you call GPT inside of your formulas for example in Excel here they're using it to extract something from from some random text by name so formula GPT extract point it to a cell just say email address it pulls it out one other example here just say full name and within the text it will just find what it thinks the full name is Isn't that cool it just understands what it is you want this one works the same for Excel and Google Sheets it's by third party so be mindful of anything sensitive that you're running through there but pretty darn interesting I would love to see this stuff actually built into our spreadsheet apps and an extension for your Google
