Hello and welcome to this episode of Ask Raghav I hope all of you are doing good and awesome Today I am going to take up a question asked by Neha and she says how to set up a QA Department in a new startup company What should I consider? What are the steps? What can we do in the work scenario? So Neha thank you for your question And QA is the process of assuring the quality of a product or a project or an application, and it is done by testing the product or the application against the requirements And for this, we need a team We need to do all this analysis, do the creation of the tests, running off test and finding the issues and looking if there is anything against or not in sync with the requirement and then report the issues, get them fixed, and then test again. So all this is done in a QA team So it is basically assuring the quality of a product or an application. Now, if you are creating or if you want to set up our new QA process and the QA team in your organization, I have some points written for you So the first one is note down all the needs of the QA Department So you have to take some help from your other seniors or other teammates and other departments and understand what should be the role, What should be the needs? Why exactly do you want a QA Department? What all they will be testing, how many people are required, what is your project? What is your application? What is your product? What are the skill sets required for a QA team? So this is the first thing Then you have to categorize the processes So what are the processes you will need to do in your QA team? You categorize them There will be some processes related to the initial screening of the requirements or understanding the requirements And there will be people who will take these requirements and convert them into user stories or test cases There will be people who will be running them and then finding issues and all these things So all these processes you have to categorize The third thing is document the QA process now followed So there will be some process maybe are not a very professional or may not be a very documented process, but there must be some process followed on how the QA is done or how the testing is done currently in the company So document that process, understand the process that can be your starting point Then you can find out and document if there are any changes required in the existing process and what are the improvements required when you create a new team, what things you want to include, what things you want to excludeSo I have all that understanding Then you design the structure of the team, how many people required, what will be the roles what they will be doing all this structure you have to plan out, and then you can take help from online resources If you are completely new, talk to your teammates seniors in the project how exactly they look at Equity and what all they want from a QA team And this will be your starting point on creating a new QA team in a new company I hope this will help you And if you have any other questions for the next episode of Ask Raghav, do, let me know in the comment section below this video I will see you next week Thank you for watching and never stop learning.
