hey what's going on hey my name is Ivan I'm the owner of junky Sacramento and the owner of turn the nozzle AI um we focus on completely like all things marketing and this little video I wanted to make showcasing the things that I've learned over the past 6 years while being in the junk removal industry so I have tried I mean I've tried everything I've tried everything under the sun uh you name it I've tried it all and uh we're going to talk about about a few things uh top top like six things that work in the junk removal industry and uh things that actually don't work I believe it or not there's a lot of controversy around some things that work and some things that don't work but I'm I'm just going to get right into it no BS my name is Ivan the owner of Jung Sacramento we've been running for about uh six 6 years we've done you know we've had we've had years that we've done over uh 200k net profit which is probably around $400,000 gross income um not the biggest company I've never grown it very big but I've uh I've been in the pretty competitive market over here in Sacramento area and um I've just focused on for my personal life uh focus on God focus on family uh while just doing junk business and um I've never had Vision never had dreams of like growing it to like a million 2 million a year business nothing like that I believe uh I believe there is a small window of um is actually you can actually keep your business pretty pretty small and actually make the most money so just because you're making a million2 million doll a year in gross revenue that does not mean you're making actually a lot so you really need to focus on your net profit so couple things that I want to talk to you guys about today is what works in Du removal industry and what doesn't um couple things that work um Google works um SEO Works uh but there's a lot of negatives and there's a lot of pluses with that it's like okay does Google ads work yeah sure it works uh it also depends on what Market you're in um you know an average click average click over here is uh you're going to spend $20 $22 per click so what what does that mean so I mean every 10 clicks that you get a high converting website or high converting funnel or a landing page is uh you're going to need like 8 10 Clicks in order to get an actual job so you do the math on that so you could get like one job from spending $300 you know what I mean very expensive but it also depends on what type of job it is so Google works um but I mean let's talk about SEO does the SEO work sure it works for after two years of spending money on SEO and who the hell knows uh you know SEO people like they don't know crap you start doing the research yourself and you actually focus on building your own stuff and stuff like that you figure out actually how to do SEO a lot of a lot of SEO gurus out there don't know don't don't know crap about SEO uh you'll just be wasting money uh the thing that I've noticed I've learned about marketing there's two terms there's a SAS there's SAS software as a service and there's smma there is smma is what Google ads management is smma is what SEO is it's it's as a service to you so couple couple issues with SM ma is smma you pay 1,000 bucks a month 1,500 bucks a month and um all that money it doesn't go to uh making your service better it doesn't that that money does not go into actually bettering SEO for you that money actually goes to employees and those employees are like only spending 10% of their time on your stuff it's not even a lot so the reason why SEO takes so long of there's multiple reasons search engine optim like search like the search engines take take a while to actually pick that stuff up there's no promises as well um so the little amount of work that they put into it most of the time it's it's not even uh it's not even it's not even worth it because the turn rate for one one single smma client is like 3 to 6 months so you're going to use it for 3 to 6 months and that's not to that's not going to be enough to actually see changes see success and you're just going to quit and go to the next guy and go to the next guy go to the next guy most time it doesn't work um I've spent over um over probably over like $60,000 on my website and in one year Google made couple couple changes to the algorithms and we lost over 75% of our traffic where did that money go just trash not even worth it so uh and this is why I actually started uh doing my own research on how to actually succeed in the marketing field and I actually built out systems that focus on SMS Outreach and client reactivation campaigns and all that stuff this is what I do now for my own company uh we send out an average of like 200 messages a day uh to our customers or or like uh Realtors and stuff like that and we actually get um we actually get a return on that like every single day we see like two three four jobs booked from that um so we end up we ended up like cutting out all of our marketing dollars we don't spend anything on on Google ads or anything like that all we do is uh post on social media and just get um just do targeted SC I mean targeted SMS Outreach and um you can do that to property managers you can do that to um your current customers your existing customers previous customers Realtors um I mean you you name it if they have a cell phone you can reach out to them yeah it's it's risky but you're such a little fish no one's going to care about you um so this is what I do um we've tried multiple other things uh there's next door out there next door is trash they're trash next door do doesn't work it was like a one of those things where it was like hype for a little bit and then it's trash uh Yelp uh completely garbage don't even don't even waste your money on Yelp Yelp is completely stupid even when you're in California Yelp is stupid it doesn't it's trash uh all all that's good for is leaving a negative review uh it's completely a rigged system uh don't use Yelp at all um uh what other ones are there out there um other ones out there uh face Facebook could be good um you know if you have some extra dollars laying around and you want to spend uh on some marketing the really cool thing with that is we've actually built systems where we can run Facebook ads on your campaigns but we create uh nurturing sequences automations we create automations to actually follow up with those leads and we actually see a lot higher return so it's like we'll we'll have a lead that gets submitted from Facebook and maybe they're not ready yet uh but since we keep following up with him every like month every two months um they eventually turn into a job so we actually get tons of leads from Facebook that come in we actually turn them into jobs later on uh so that's really good um yeah and that's what we focus on nowadays um other things that we've tried um yeah I mean we've tried Flyers we've tried all the Gorilla Marketing tactics uh all that stuff is is cool uh I think the biggest bang for your buck probably going to be like networking just building relationships uh if you build relationships with people um do SMS Outreach um and really cool thing is what we what we try to do is we try to like send out messages to you know property managers or like Realtors and uh then after that we try to go to their locations and actually introduce us and that we've seen a pretty good return them that as well so so these are some of the things that actually work for us guys if you're interested in learning how how uh the SMS Outreach
