Hi everyone, my name is Kevin and today I want to show you how you can convert a PDF file into a Word file. It's easier than you think, and as full disclosure, I work at Microsoft. OK, so here I am on my desktop, and I have a file called name.pdf. I'm going to go ahead and open this. This is just a sample resume file that I found online, and it has things like a photo. You have some text in here. You could insert your name, so it's kind of a somewhat complex PDF because it has graphics, and it has text. And now we want to convert this into a .docx file, .docx kind of hard to say there. And so what I'm going to do is, I said it's easier than you think it is. I'm going to open up Microsoft Word. So here Word is going to open up, and this is the new Word start page. I'm going to put these. I'm going to have my Word on the side and then the PDF over here. So, what I'm going to do, is I'm going to click on the name.pdf, my PDF file on the desktop and I'm simply going to drag it over into Word onto the home screen and then I'm going to drop it there. I get this dialog that appears that says Word will now convert your PDF to an editable Word document. It might take a while and it might not look exactly like the original PDF, so kind of caveats it that like I might be a little disappointed by what it does, but I have high expectations, so let's go ahead and try this out. OK, cancel or help. So, I'll just click on OK. Now what it's doing is here you see the transformed version of the PDF. It looks pretty good to me. Let's go ahead and see what it did. Here the photo is a little off because here it's a circle photo. I could, let's see I can click on, see can I click on the photo so I could click on the photo, here I'll go to format, crop, and then crop to circle. OK and there it's back to what the PDF looks like. And here I can click on the different elements, so I'll type in my name now, so let's say Kevin, my last name is Stratvert and that's always a tough one when I call for support and I got to tell them how to spell my name. So, there's my name, and I could take that PDF. What it did is it took the graphics, converted them into the doc file, all the text, I could click on any of the text, and I could edit it. It's a little weird how each item is kind of a separate line item. But I could always just delete these other lines and expand that first box, so there are different ways I could work with it. But all the text is editable, all the different images in here, the table, all these different elements. It converted that pretty well into a Word file. So, I'm actually pretty pleased and pretty impressed that it did such a good job. It seemed to do the conversion with ease, but that's all it takes to convert a PDF into a Word file. Just simply take your PDF file and drag and drop it over into Word. Another way you could do it too. If I just go to file open, I could browse to where I have the file. So here I have it on my desktop and then I could also open it that way as well, and that'll also kick off the conversion process. But that's, that's really all there is to it. You just need Word, you need a PDF file, and as long as you have those two, you could go ahead and convert that PDF into a Word doc file, .docx. And that's, that's all it takes. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and if you want to see more videos like this in the future, hit that subscribe button, that way you'll get a notification anytime new content like this comes. I'll see you next time, bye.
