hey what is up guys we are on day 13 14 12 11 who the heck knows of this whole thing going on but if Casey you have been living under a rock this new Senate bill the cares Act specifically has a section on unemployment insurance and there is a possibility they can get up to twenty three thousand four hundred from the federal government on top of your state benefits now if you haven't been on my page if you haven't been on my youtube channel this is completely different from the disaster relief loans and grants this is very different so if this applies to you if you're basically self-employed if you're a sole proprietor if you in any way shape or form have been harmed by kovat and I'm gonna break this down because I have gone through all of this for you so you don't have to do it and I've put it into a very pretty little PowerPoint presentation for you so that you can share this with somebody you can tag and if you think it's cool that I created this just show some love drop an emoji and just the the biggest thing you can do is just share this with somebody because as long as this helps one or two families I will feel good that I'm putting this work in okay so on top of the loan loans and grants and just in case you're wondering I literally printed out a hundred and ninety five pages for another program I'm gonna do that for my business because I am an LLC that files as an S corp but if I was a sole proprietor or if I was a basically somebody in the gig economy if I was an independent contractor if I was still working for myself personally I would do this so basically what this is I'm gonna break this down but this is unemployment insurance and this is on top of what your state provides so if you're in a state like Florida you might get two hundred and seventy five dollars a week but the government will supplement that with up to six hundred dollars okay for up to thirty nine weeks so I'm pretty sure the dates basically arranged between January 2020 and December 31st so it's going to give you six hundred dollars in supplemental insurance every single week which is simply $2,500 $2,400 a month and if you do the math over 39 weeks it comes out to twenty three thousand four hundred hopefully you don't need this it's way better to actually work but if you absolutely need it if you are struggling or if you know somebody's struggling then this is the way to go okay now who can get this now there is a very good copy at to that and I'm gonna go into this but basically it starts on page 84 so if we start on page 84 it's gonna come in here and it's gonna say what covered individuals there are and you're gonna see that this is very vague and this is very generous okay so who's eligible okay is not eligible for regular compensation or extended benefits under federal law or pandemic emergency unemployment compensation under this section so basically as long as you are in here you know this is who it's gonna be covered under and then there are a couple people that are not covered but trust me more than likely you're going to be covered okay okay so basically as long as you can self certify key word self certification so basically you're probably gonna have to make a statement obviously you don't want to lie but self certification I highly doubt the bank or anyone is gonna come like harass you or the government but self certification right there okay so basically if you have been affected by Kovan so if you have number one I've been experiencing symptoms or have gotten a medical diagnosis that applies to you okay so you're probably thinking okay that's not me if somebody in your house has gotten kovat then you're covered if you're an individual that has been taking care of a family member that has been diagnosed then you're covered and then if you keep going you'll see that it starts getting really broad right and you guys tell me which one do you guys fall under I'm pretty sure everyone's gonna fall under here and after but basically if you have a child in the household where maybe they were going to school and now you have to be a caregiver and they're unable to attend school because of this whole kovat closing then you you are eligible you're covered individual right so that's a lot of parents alright so that just adds in probably more people then we'll you know when we're even affected by the virus if you're not able to reach your place of employment so if you live in New York City and you had a studio or you know your independent contractor your hair makeup artist and you were supposed to go somewhere but now they're saying that you're not an essential business well that was a public health emergency and now you are covered so you can start seeing that this is covering a lot a lot of people here ok if you're unable to reach you know your whatever if you're supposed to be self quarantined it covers a lot of people ok you can read through this but basically I'm gonna tell you if you're watching this video you are probably covered in here ok so just make sure that you look in here there is one section where it says people who are not included so just keep in mind that this is who's excluded ok so basically if you're getting any other special types of pays you know like if you're getting like paid leave and you know other other things like that then you're not technically allowed to get unemployment insurance because then you're not unemployed right you're still an employee getting paid leave but there's a key word in here and the key word is any individual who has the ability to telework so if your hair makeup artist and you're not able to go to the studio because the studio is closed then you you are not able to telework right if you're a photographer and you need to have people inside your studio or you need to go on location you need to go to the beach you need to go to the park all of a sudden this does not include you so that's why I'm gonna say I'm saying I'm doing this research for you for the most part as long as you can self certify right that you know you weren't able to get to work yeah your business was closed down in any way your kids made you a caregiver their school was closed and by the way most of us especially if you're a gig worker you can't telework you know so I would definitely recommend apply anyways even if you don't think that you are eligible ok so I've listed the pages in here it's pages 84 and on but like I said almost anyone if you're watching this this is gonna be for you ok how long is this for so originally they said it was for four months I thought it was four months but then when I started reading this bill it sounded like it was 39 weeks so when it comes in here it says the limitation of duration for assistance the total number of weeks which are covered by an individual may receive assistance shall not exceed 39 weeks so that's pretty cool and it goes up to basically you know it covers the periods between January 27 2020 and I believe December 31st 2020 so 39 weeks you should apply even if you don't think you can get it even if you don't think it's for you you know I would definitely if you have an advisor if you have somebody who you know who is an accountant I would definitely check with them and I would do your own research I'm even gonna drop this link in here I basically went through the final cares Act that was passed yesterday so you can read this yourself as well and the way you do this is basically this is gonna be supplemented through your state's unemployment so all you're gonna do is you're gonna go google Florida unemployment New York unemployment California unemployment and you're gonna apply online and you're really quickly gonna see you know who's eligible under here normally most states they don't allow for like independent contractors they don't apply for like gig workers maybe like not for photographers so that's okay so you might not get anything from your state but you'll still get the $600 a week from the federal government but if you can get it some state governments are expanding it to help independent contractors you'll get that on top of it so you can imagine nine hundred dollars a week that's kind of a lot of money that's $4,000 you know could be close to four thousand dollars cash look what else can you do on top of this of course yesterday on my page on my personal page and on the YouTube channel I went through and I said you can also get grants and you can get business loans that could potentially be forgiven so you can do that as well but the most important thing you can do is keep promoting and working on your business if you're in the high rollers Club if you're a top performing photographer and you can go make four thousand dollars per session forget this unemployment stuff maybe you get onto it for a couple weeks maybe you get onto it for a couple months but you need to get back to work it back to promoting get back to booking in the future I had one photographer book 9 sessions last week I had somebody else who's literally just been crushing it taking consults left and right so there are people still booking and they're booking out for the future just make it easy for people to book give them contingencies let them change the date book it out far enough money net money later is the same as money now obviously doesn't feel that way but at the end of the year when you do your tallies it's just as important okay and then lastly what you can do is you can share this video with somebody tag them in this video and let them know it exists and yeah here are the instructions I'm gonna put everything in the links or comments you guys have any questions I want to continue the discussion you can absolutely continue here and I will try to answer any questions and now I will go to the comments if you guys are on here so let me see some of the comments hey Sasha says where is this document so this document honestly was kind of hard to find but this is the final cares Act that was just passed I'm going to post it one more time but you can probably find it on some sort of federal website or the Congress page I don't know Trump's desk but yeah this is the final bill that was signed into law yesterday so there have been a lot of rumors but apparently this is the final document that you ever have to check because now this is law Colleen says I'm gonna watch later thanks so much Amanda shout out to Amanda tagged Heather Karina says do you know if this covers anyone who works under daca I have an employee who falls under daca I'm gonna say you know what that's a really good question I am going to say that normally this is just my knowledge normally federal benefits do not cover people that don't have SSN or I think like worth authorization the most important thing to do is go apply through the state's unemployment because you basically have to do that to get this started so I'm gonna say I'm not exactly sure I'm pretty sure that you know if they're here under daca they have like all those things help I'm not even she I don't think you have to be a US citizen but just keep that in mind I would definitely research because it's definitely worth looking up it's probably buried somewhere in here but this thing's like 900 pages long yeah yeah very interesting such fun should be prioritised to us United States citizen service I don't know despite a ton in here this thing is almost 900 pages long I'm really sorry okay let's see who's on here April says Iowa my set says not to try to apply it because it isn't active yet okay yeah I that was probably true yesterday and again I would just search on your website and if I went to Iowa unemployment you know if I went on there it might have some sort of like I don't know some sort of thing in here right here notice the cares Act has been signed to well however it's not effective yet those benefits are not yet available please do not fill out your claim until you are eligible finally before you're eligible could make it delayed that's actually a really good point but again you're gonna learn a lot by going to your individual websites every single state's gonna be different but just you know if you're gonna do this just make sure you're one of the first to do it because you're gonna get the benefits pretty fast zaza says thank you for your help no problem do you have any info on the grant stuff yep go check out my personal page or our youtube channel on photography profits and i went over it there honestly the most important thing to do if you go into let me look it up what was it so sba coronavirus loans if you come in here i've been on here i printed out all hundred ninety five pages of my submission what you're gonna do is you're gonna come in here and click to apply uh oh man it looks a little bit different now that's so funny click here to apply okay so you're gonna come to this website and what's gonna happen is I'm gonna drop this in the comments you're gonna have to download the forms and there's two types there's business application and then there's gonna be a sole proprietor application again these are forgivable there's certain standards to make them forgivable but if you come in here for me I'll tell you what I did number one when you click here it's gonna give you a couple forms to fill out and then it's gonna give you the exact forms you need to print out and submit with it so for me I did SBA form five I then went and did this IRS form for 506 I copied all of my schedule and federal income taxes my personal financial statement and schedule liabilities you can also find those documents right here so when it asks for the other documents let me see you'll find them right here so personal financial statement request for transcript of tax returns schedule of liabilities and let's see what else and then yeah so just follow the instructions you have to fill all of these out as well and you also have to submit all of your completed copies and most recent income tax returns for the applicant business so I did that for business it might be a little bit different for personal but I didn't really go through that process but I'm pretty sure it's pretty easy because it has all the filing requirements and it tells you how to do it me personally I went above and beyond and I submitted my request in case you guys don't know I run a marketing agency here cog refuted profits my payroll my payroll all alone every single month is over 2000 close to over twenty five thousand dollars a month actually some months it really varies twenty-five to thirty thousand dollars a month so I applied for it and honestly the there's some instances in here for where it can be forgiven if you use the funds for things like payroll if you use it for rent there's a bunch of things that you know it kind of walks you through when it could be the repayment can be waived but you know just apply you might not have to use it but if it's there why not just apply okay so let me go back where was I yeah that's where you're gonna do that so hopefully that helps okay do you think this only applies to full-time photographers I don't really get that well with my day job so I'm losing secondary income oh that's a good one I'm gonna say I do think depending on your state and obviously how the whole process goes I think it might be a little bit hard if you haven't been completely treating it like a business and you can't self certify or completely prove that it you know you've been making X amounts but I would still apply and just kind of go through the motions go through the you know the application process and just go check and see there's no harm in doing it you might waste an hour but whatever she has a work ID for sure I'll check thanks that's awesome what pages did you say so if you read through here it's gonna give you all the pages you need to do for whichever one for this one if you're you know for all applicants you know you're not a non-profit probably it gives you the list of them and then if you need to go find where those lists are you can either google it or the additional forms are on here on on the page I posted in the links so hopefully you guys see that I post it one more time okay what pages should we focus on I'm gonna tell you the hardest thing to do was you know obviously this one all this stuff is pretty straightforward you had to do your personal financial statement this was a pain in the ass because I had to print out every stock I owned and then go find out how much I paid for every stock so that was really a pain in the butt and then I had to do this one super easy it took ten seconds this one was took another ten seconds I don't have any debt and then I had to go get all my taxes so I just messaged my accountant and I said hey can you send me all my taxes and we did it pretty quickly so I submitted on the portal just in case you don't see it it says you can submit it here I put a nice little note in there for whoever you know for whoever was going to see it put a nice little note in there and then I'm also planning on just mailing in the two hundred pages basically and having a nice note in there and making sure that in case this portal doesn't work they also have a hard copies okay Virginia is the same I'm going to check back several times a day yeah you're gonna have to keep checking but at least we know that this is here what's the YouTube target profits okay April says thanks so much for doing the research for us yeah no problem okay does this have to be printed or can it be filled out on your computer like an editable PD PDF file so I printed it and signed a lot of the forms so I put a wet signature on for me if I was gonna do this and I was gonna apply I'd rather have a wet signature meaning like not like an Adobe signature because I don't want them coming back to me and saying oh my god you didn't you didn't sign this with pen and you can't we don't accept digital I'm not even bother and then I just scanned it and then uploaded it here so technically you can take your chances with a electronic signature but I would probably print it put a wet signature on and you can definitely upload your documents here this is what it says it didn't used to look like this it used to look different I watched a webinar it was like the most boring webinar you can ever imagine and I did this for you guys so yeah I watched this webinar where this lady would like from the SBA was going through and she was like teaching people how to do this let me see so she was like teaching people how to like I don't even know somewhere in there I don't know but yeah it's oh there it is it was a it was a webinar on like how to do it for like for accountants and it used to look like this but I'm pretty sure it probably just got overloaded or the system was just not working right so they basically just gave everybody the forms and said just upload the forms so this is how it used to be but this was over a week ago and since then it doesn't look like you can do it that way anymore so yeah okay um let's see Aquinas's can you have access to the slides yeah I guess the slides are really simple I honestly just took some highlights but it's only like five slides guys but yeah this is the amount you could get hopefully you don't have to be on the unemployment assistance for 39 weeks six hundred dollars a week on top of your state so your state will probably give you more covered individuals are on page 84 which I've linked in here of the cares Act how long 39 weeks and yeah again this doesn't just apply photographers this is hair makeup artists graphic designers artists you know gig workers independent contractors whoever so if you know somebody tagged them don't be afraid or share this on your wall by the way that's probably get the most views on this so yeah I cannot stress this enough I am personally not going to do this one I do run a business you know luckily we still have a super awesome clients that you know having a whole jump ship a lot of them are still marketing so we're still doing okay I'm going to take the loan out as a precaution because it's there and they're gonna if they're gonna incentivize me to keep all my payroll and keep everyone's hours and they can pay my payroll for a couple weeks you know that could be tens of thousands of dollars that turns into a grant Jill Kelley my payroll technically is w-2 or is that technically a w-2 I use a program called just works just works is a PEO so if you go in there the reason I use this is because without this I was gonna have to give my employees like the crappiest health insurance but now I can give them basically I'm joining a work organization and your your eligibility for this doesn't matter if you're using a PEO or not technically there's still my employees but basically they get a w-2 from just works but they still are my employees and it lets me tap into really good benefits insurance policies you know different benefits and you know HR compliance and helps me pay all my unemployment insurance federal taxes and everything so it's pretty cool it's kind of expensive I think it's like a hundred dollars for full-time employees per month fifty dollars for part-time employees but it's actually really really cool if you guys want more info on this I would definitely recommend this if you want to have top talent if you have over three employees and you're trying to grow this might be something but yeah I will say also that when I was watching some of these webinars I read and saw that you don't technically need to have w2 it also said that you can average like the last year of 1099s as well so just keep that in mind it's not just for w2 I'm not a lawyer so I'm just a random guy on the internet so don't take my stuff I should put a disclaimer on this random guy on the internet so don't take my stuff for legal advice everything I'm telling you to do you still have to go research on your stay still go research with your accountant you know go read the documents that's why I give them to you but from what I read it did include w-2s and 1099s I've gone through all this stuff so much that I'm like losing track but I definitely remember that when do you think we can go to the bank so I might have slightly misspoken I will say that I heard senator Ted Cruz and all the Senators basically saying this is an SBA 7a loan or similar style that is granted by the bank and not by the government so if you can imagine basically you know there's gonna have to be like administrative like work that goes with issuing these loans of course the SBA has is backing it so the application goes to them as well but apparently they want you to apply so I'm gonna suggest you go on here and you apply and then go and touch base with the bank when you apply through here when you Mel listen I'm not been getting any confirmation letters or anything so I don't have a confirmation number I don't even know if it's accepted they're probably so bogged down with everything so again I'm gonna mail it tomorrow but I'm gonna go to the bank Friday I'm gonna be in touch with them I'm gonna go talk to a couple bankers and just kind of get a feel for them and I will update you guys but first things first is upload all the business forms if anything I think what's gonna happen is the banks are basically going to they're basically gonna have to tap into the portal right because if you come in here and let's just say you're the bank right like this is an SBA loan and they're gonna tap in and basically be like hey did you submit your Eid L forms right so they're basically probably gonna reach out to the SBA or they're gonna go into that database and between both of them it's gonna get approved and funded just keep in mind that you do have to have the ability to pay those grants back this unemployment is different but you do have to show the ability to pay the banks back so that's it's kind of Li like a like a double at like a catch-22 right because you would think like you know restaurant it's right like restaurants I don't know spell it you know restaurants or events or like wedding photographers wedding planners like let's just say some of them are gonna go out of business right like the weird thing is is that these banks and SBA still wants to see that these businesses can pay the banks back so I'm pretty sure I saw that they're not going to be looking at credit scores and the approval is not based on credit scores and stuff like that they just wanted to see if you had the ability to pay it back so they want to see our cash flows they want to see all your bank statements or your tax returns and what your liabilities are so if you're drowning in debt and it doesn't look like your last year's revenue you know I I don't really know how that works but yeah kind of a catch-22 what have you filed doing business as yeah I'm not again I had doing business as you mean like you filed the DBA with your state I don't think that's a big deal I would still apply for the unemployment and I would still possibly even for the Eid L so I would still try both the worst of the worst that can happen is they say no let's go down Corina says exactly I used to work for a PEO for 16 years yeah honestly you know I do have Angie I do have to pay more but like their stuff is so awesome it's like pretty high-tech I can see all the hours I actually feel like legit company using P just works and I have a really good insurance vision dental policy for an entire family and it's a little bit over $1,000 so it was worth it for us and then my employees have the option to get benefits as well so just an idea I'm most small businesses that's probably gonna be out of the scope but in case you're like growing or you know you have a big studio at four or five six employees that might help yeah oh oh that's a good part so like the s the SBA loan removed the the personal guarantee so if you normally go get an SBA loan you know normally try to go get credit or financing they normally make you personally guarantee it now they're not so the SBA is basically a hundred percent guaranteeing this thing for you so worst thing you can do is apply and just see what happens okay Courtney Pitt says what if your last year sucked but this year you're full time and making ton more I am gonna say that's gonna be there is there is a lot of interpretation in here because when you come in here and you start filling these forms out you know there's areas where you can basically make like a small statement I would just make that clear wherever you can honestly it doesn't say that you can't write a statement on it so I even put a cover letter in here and just put maybe some explanation in here you know you know put your income in this doesn't necessarily even say like you know right here SBA uses information each proprietor you know you can come in here and update your income so section one if your new income is this you know you can make a note and say look my current income for 2020 is this so some really deep questions guys again random guy on the internet here whatever you do talk to your banker you're not going to be able to pull out the loan without going through the hassle of number one filling out all these forms probably talking to a banker and getting you know getting the financing and they're gonna have a lot of paperwork for you to sign you're gonna have all the information on how you pay it back I'm pretty sure there's you know there's some relief on when you have to pay back and the interest rate is really really low okay how do we get these forms so again all the links are on my personal page and our Facebook page so if you come here this is the one for the business grant business loan again it could possibly be forgiven if you use it for the things that they tell you to and then the next one is this is the final cares act this is what this whole video was about if you guys go back to the beginning and watch this this whole video was about possibly getting an extra twenty three thousand dollars from the federal government on top of your state and this does go out to photographers artists independent contractors and the gig economy so make sure you go through that let me go back and see by the way there's so much interaction on this video I feel like this was a really good topic to do and guys I want to help as many people out as possible so your job if you're watching this not only do this for yourself if this applies to you whether you're gonna do the economic disaster relief you know loan or whether you're gonna do the unemployment insurance but your other job is make sure to tag someone share this on your page if you guys can I hope this reaches as many people as possible what if your last year sucked okay we answered that it's worth it just being like oh yeah for sure honestly I thought it was in compliance before I used to have this like cool binder and I like I had these handbooks and I had all these like hiring things but yeah now I have that and I have like I have like a 300 page employee handbook which makes me feel super official so yeah it's pretty cool okay let's see what other questions we have scanning my Docs and now and submitting awesome yeah just make sure you have all those documents in you sign them all triple check them make sure nothing's you know nothing's missing from them and then make sure you have at least your last two years of complete tax returns scheduled you know scheduled pages scheduled kay all that what's your website you said it's so fast and YouTube channel my website is photography de profits and if you come into YouTube but honestly I'm like the worst ever but if you come into YouTube you'll see that I did a video on this on this topic yesterday so you guys can check that out as well and I did it but you can also find this video on my personal page so I did do this so yeah and by the way this is I recorded this video right before the law passed but 99.9% of this still applies so still probably the best video forward photographers or independent contractors okay let's keep going what else we got in here thanks so much Angie is there a deadline honestly I think if you read through here there are a couple deadlines that are outlined but what I'm gonna suggest is that you do it as soon as possible the periods covered like there are so many definitions for what defines you know the deadline right like the the deadlines in here are basically like they're basically along the lines of like you know going through 2020 you know at least until December 31 I'm gonna say that it also goes in let me see I'm gonna come find it 600 so the deadline as what this states is up until December 31 2020 I think for the loan I'm gonna say I think I read somewhere it's like up until July they have provisions in here that basically say they can extend it hey if Congress extends it like they're gonna extend this like if for whatever reason this goes on for another six months they're just gonna write an addendum and they're just gonna extend this whole thing but the most important thing is like with anything is like don't let it pass right like you're watching this video you know put this on your calendar but like put this on a big thing in your on your fridge because the last thing I want to happen is like five months go by and then for whatever reason they just change this and say oh you know what it's over and then you're like well Umberto said it was up until December 31 and I'm gonna be like guys I'm a random guy in the internet and I told you go do it as soon as possible like do not sleep on this on either on the disaster loan which can turn into a grant or the state and federal unemployment okay guys if you guys have gotten anything from this I'm going to tell you that the most important thing in here is that no amount of state unemployment can make up for a strong healthy business it just cannot I don't care this number is if you use this benefit up until the end of the year I don't want people doing that but I know some people do so at the end of the day the more of the story from me my message is always be aggressive with your business go do things that other people won't do go do the things that people refuse to do because maybe they don't want it enough start preparing be this stuff is gonna end soon I don't know when but it is so if you're not scheduling shoots you're behind somebody that's using all this time to build their you know their crowd they're getting more people to like them know and trust them so whatever you do you've got to be working on either the biz marketing something and it doesn't have to be paid but hopefully this helps and I will see you guys in the next one
