hey folks this is Steve with nonprofit Ally and today we're gonna file our taxes I know pretty exciting so first of all the taxes that we're filing right now are going to be for nonprofits who make $50,000 or less per year right it's a specific filing it's the form 990-n it's called it's known as the e postcard and the beautiful thing about it is it literally is it's the size of a postcard it's electronic postcard but it's very small and it's free and you submit this and it's it's that easy so if you have gross revenue of 50,000 or less per year you qualify or most likely qualify there are other requirements but most likely if your 501c3 with 50k or less per year you qualify for this filing so cool the link is below I want you to follow that link and that's actually the page I'm on now so if you go and click that link you'll end up here oh don't click it now because obviously you're watching this video but I'm gonna walk you through the filing here so the page it's the IRS it's the IRS page it has information about the file who has to file and their due dates right you need to know if you're in a calendar year or fiscal year most likely you know that and then ingly it gives you the due dates based on what type of calendar or fiscal year that you're following okay a little further down the page I'm just sorry I'm scrolling so fast is information on your fa cues and all that other stuff so go ahead and read through this it's it's actually as far as the IRS goes this is it's in English like it's really easy to read it's not all the the tax mumbo-jumbo that's hard to understand okay now let's go ahead and file 990-n the electronic filing for the e postcard alright so you just go down here you click this right of the file I'll also have a link to this this actual link in the description below now you come in to the login page and this login page is a couple things if you don't have an account already you can sign up it's easy it's free it takes five minutes put in your information and you have an account but I already have an account so I'm just going to go here and I'm gonna log in it's a multi-step process of course and so they put in my password since I'm already remember if you're not already a member or if you don't ever have a login they let you know every time you log in they let you know when the last time someone logged in it's kind of nice it's security anyways we're gonna keep going okay so once you have an account if this is your first time filing you're gonna have to setup your e post card profile and so we're gonna go ahead and do that right now and that's simply done on the left hand side here where it says manage a post card profile in fact if I tried to submit my 990 without having a profile I couldn't do it that button is grayed out so we're gonna go here and fill out this form cool so one by one first we're going to select our exempt organization I am the organization I am NOT a preparer I am the organization so that's me I am the user next is your ein so I would recommend just having your EIN information in front of you because all the information got put in here is going to be directly from that and that's what I'm going to do now once you have your EIN in it should show up it'll pull it right in there so it should show your organization's name and you can go on to the next step so I'm going to create my new filing now of course you could have multiple ei ends or businesses so you get to select the ein that you're going to be using and that's a simple drop down and there I am I am going to continue now you're going to have your organizational details so for this case I'm actually filing early and you're not allowed to do that so it may not even let me go past this point because there's my tax here and my textures in March this is actually January when I'm doing this video for you because this is just a how-to I'm not actually filing mine but I'm walking you through it but hopefully they'll let me continue we'll just assume that I am within the right tax year and just fill in the blanks once you have your organizational details in there you're presented with another page this is your contact information again just go through the form and fill it out there's no trick questions here if you have a DBA at doing business as you can fill in that name in our case noble pose Inc is our legal name and we also go by noble pause which is our DBA I guess because we don't say Inc at the end so I'm going to go ahead and add that and continue filling the form up from there okay so I've just filled out this form and its entirety I've grayed out obviously all my personal information there is a question on here called principal officer and the principal officer is usually the IDI or the president of your board it could actually be a business it's like you're an LLC you made your may your business may be owned by a corporation of some type but in this case is a non-profit your principal officer is usually you your treasurer your director or someone like that cool so now at the very bottom of this page guys you're done you are done filling your taxes the very bottom here you can see it says submit filing just click that I am NOT gonna do that because again like I said this is a demo and I'm not I have a few more months before at the file so I'm actually just gonna cancel my filing right now because this is so easy to fill out all right folks that's it those that is how you do your taxes not bad right all right so remember all the links are down below and thanks for
