I'm going to teach you today a really easy way to organize your receipts [Music] hey I'm Morgan for five points and my goal here is to help business owners get organized today I'm doing a five-dollar good little challenge with Hillary from old world home super excited because I watched these challenges for years and now I'm able to do one so mine's a little bit different mine isn't purely decor related but it's practical decor so I'm gonna teach you today a really easy way to organize your receipts I'm a bookkeeper so I see all kinds of different risky organization for me for my business I have very few transactions each month so I really don't need a large filing system or a complicated system to keep track of my receipts so what works best for me is a simple binder I'm able to open it up and just use it like a book and look at all my receipts in one easy place it's very visual for me so I don't know if you're in the habit of buying office supplies from a thrift store but I think that is one of the best places to get it at a regular store this binder would cost like I don't even know like seven to ten dollars but I got it for $2.99 and it's gonna function just perfectly for me this is a good binder - it's the kind of it does the double lock which I love and there's no spaces between the little rings give me a thumbs up if you're picky about your binders so for myself I make this as easy as humanly possible because I know receipts can be a huge pain often people like stick them in a box and forget about them and just don't deal with them what I do is I have this envelope handy and I just stick all my receipts in it as they come in so I take them out of my purse and I put them in this envelope and then every so often I will file them into this binder I grab these pencil pouches from the dollar store and they're the perfect size for receipts they're not too big but they have the zipper pouches that you can just stick stuff inside and they won't fall out so then I use my favorite label maker I'll link it down below and they printed labels for each of my categories that I need to categorize my receipts in and then I took some time to sort out my receipts into the different categories and put them in the binder and I'm just so happy with how this turned out I think it's great it's super easy to use so the end of the year I'll just take him out of the folders and just save them in a manila envelope with the year marked on it all right and then I have this cute sticker in my craft box so I just use that for the background to make it a little bit more springy and pretty and then I added a label now looks so cute my desk and I love that it's really easily accessible and it makes me just want to file my receipts to do more and then I think it just makes a really cute addition to my desk I love the purple color I also have my other business binder sitting next to it I have this vase that was thrifted a couple of years ago and the super cute calendar that my best friend gave me I'll link it down below if I can find her Instagram it's fun just to have this nice organized functional kind of pop of color on my desk now thank you again to Hilary for organizing this challenge a thumbs up is the best compliment you can give me please subscribe to my channel I'd love to have you stick around I'm a bookkeeper and I love to organize things so I do a lot of videos on finances and how you can help organize your small business things that small business owners would need to know as they're just getting started so I'd love it if you would subscribe to my channel
