hi in this video we will have a quick overview of how an invoice is generated once the plugin is installed and activated navigate to the invoice packing from the WordPress menu general settings menu suffix and padding in that case you can specify the corresponding prefix and suffix or even select one from a pre find date format we will go with the prefix to be as M referring to the numerical form of the active month and the suffix is y referring to the numerical form of the active year you can specify the total length required for the invoice in the invoice length field if the length of the generated invoice number is less than the provided it will be padded with zeros to maintain the total length update the settings to save the changes made let's have a look at the invoice number with the above configuration in place here 0 9 is the prefix the rest of the six numbers indicates the invoice length padded with two zeros and the suffix 2019 next move on to the customize tab it is in the customize tab where you get more options to configure the look and feel of the invoice you can create new invoice templates from existing layouts each layout differs in its appearance and arrangements of elements and its constituent colors let us go ahead by choosing the layout Riegel and customize it further you can see that as for the settings configured previously the logo as well as other details are already populated in the invoice layout the visibility of each element in the invoice can be controlled by the toggle button incorporated in the stab additionally some generic elements like the font size style color and other specific attributes of each element can also be changed as per your need for example to change the attributes of the invoice number expand the element invoice number and then change the text from invoice to invoice number then its font size from 14 to 16 style from bold to bolder and color from black to red similarly let's change the text align of the respective order number here you can even switch to the code editor to make additional customizations other than the one listed in the visual editor for instance to give a border for the invoice header you can simply insert the corresponding code and then switch to the visual to view the changes while making changes via code editor it would be better for you to refer the help which briefs on editing an existing template you will be redirected back to the customized window you can make the necessary changes to the template and save it as usual to activate the edited template click on activate there is an Advanced Options section where you can insert additional order or product metadata into your invoice to add a product meta say weight from the product meta details click on add product meta and into the pop-up that appears key in an appropriate field name which will be displayed on the invoice and enter the meta key as it is the meta key for the parameter weight is underscore weight you can see the product meta weight added under the product in the invoice similarly you can add order meta details also by default you are provided with some of the order meta that can be selected from the drop-down in addition you can add the existing order meta field and key in an appropriate value in the field name and meta key fields use the footer section if you need to set up a custom footer message specifically for your invoice if not specified the plugin will take the content from general settings save your changes by clicking on the update Settings button now that all your general as well as invoice specific settings are configured you can go ahead generate print send us an email or even download the invoice
