As with most changes, performance was probably one of the biggest factors to change. Microsoft claims that as edge speeds up on a lower hardware spec, it will outperform chrome in chrome-like scenarios. However, we're seeing different results. One of the biggest, and also most controversial, changes is that now you can open tabs in edge using the keyboard instead of the mouse and your virtual keyboard (the touch keyboard on devices).
