Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) located at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm. 2. Sign and submit this application to the financial aid office. (Keep a copy for your records.) 3. Complete the TEACH grant Agreement to Serve (ATS) available electronically at www.teach-ats.ed.gov. 4. Have a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.25 or provide, to the financial aid office, documentation of having scored above the 75th percentile on a nationally normed admission test (i.e. ACT, SAT, GRE) along with this application. 5. Be enrolled in coursework that is necessary to begin a career in teaching or plan to complete such coursework. Coursework that will prepare a student to teach in a high-need subject area (e.g., math courses for a student who intends to be a math teacher) is acceptable. 6. Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident. 7. Not have defaulted on or owe a refund to any previous student aid program. 8. Enroll in at least 6 credit hours each semester the award is received. Award will be prorated based on enrollment status. 9. Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the University of Florida's satisfactory academic progress requirements. These requirements are available on the Student Financial Affairs web site at http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/receiving/academicprogress.html and in the UF Gator Aid Handbook. By signing and submitting this application for the Federal TEACH Grant, I am establishing that I am enrolled in or plan to enroll in a program that will prepare me to teach in a high-need subject area, as defined at http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/pol/tsa.html. It is my understanding to prevent my grant from becoming an unsubsidized loan, I must teach full-time, for at least four years, at schools that serve students from low-income families.
