The drugs are purposely and irresponsibly inflated at outrageous prices. The price of prescription drugs literally kicks the sick while they are down. The United States is one of few countries that do not regulate the prices of prescription drugs. Why is it that Canada is able to sell the exact prescription drugs that the U.S. sells for anywhere to 30% to 50% less than the U.S. counterpart? Why? Because Canada has price control! The Canadian Government has accepted responsibility and refused to allow capitalism to rape the Canadian Citizens. However, the United States refuses to do anything and as I write this letter the price of prescription drugs are skyrocketing and people are needlessly dying. I believe that the American Association of Retired People has summarized this situation best: “it is a national embarrassment that in a country with the most advanced medical system in the world, so many of our citizens can obtain affordable prescription drugs only by seeking them in foreign countries.” Please remember the people that have made this country strong and now are not being treated fairly in the medical system. Their plight can be relieved by your simple choice. Choose to make prescription drugs affordable. Thank you for your time.
