THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS next took up for consideration the
matter of granting a tax exemption from ad valorem taxes for and the
following Resolution, having frst being reduced to writing was introduced:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI GRANTING EXEMPTION FROM AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR PERSONAL IN TRANSIT THROUGH
MISSISSIPPI, WHEN SUCH PERSONAL PROPERTY IS
CONSIGNED OR TRANSFERRED TO THE FREE PORT
WAREHOUSE OPERATED BY FOR STORAGE IN TRANSIT
TO A FINAL DESTINATION OUTSIDE THE STATE OF
MISSISSIPPI, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF ’s
APPLICATION FOR LICENSE TO OPERATE A FREE PORT
WAREHOUSE BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE TAX
COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, (hereinafter " ") fled a triplicate with this Board
of Supervisors an Application for exemption from ad valorem taxes, as
authorized by §27-31-51 et seq. of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as
amended, for personal property in transit through Mississippi when such
personal property is consigned or transferred to the free port warehouse
operated by for storage in transit to a fnal destination outside the
State of Mississippi subject to the approval of ’s Application for License
to operate a free port warehouse by the Mississippi State Tax Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors have reviewed the Application
and has produced written verifcation and documentation to the Board
of Supervisors as to the authenticity and correctness of its Application in
regards to it having met the requirements for a "free port warehouse"
license pursuant to §27-31-51 et seq. of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as
amended; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors fnd that Cardinal distributes
pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and other health related products from
its distribution center located in , County, Mississippi which will be
consigned or transferred to its free port warehouse for storage in transit to a
fnal destination outside the State of Mississippi, so as to make eligible
for the exemption granted by §27-31-51 et seq. of the Mississippi Code of
1972, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of Supervisors of
Rankin County, Mississippi as follows:
1. The application for exemption from ad valorem taxes fled
by , attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein
by reference, is hereby approved and granted subject to the
approval of ’s Application to be licensed as a free port
warehouse by the Mississippi State Tax Commission.
2. The exemption hereby granted shall be efective January
1, 1994 and shall apply to ad valorem taxes due for and
thereafter, so long as continues to comply with all
provisions of Section 27-31-51 et seq. of the Mississippi Code of
1972, as amended.
3. The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors be and is hereby
directed to spread a copy of this Resolution on the minutes of
this Board of Supervisors; and, that said Clerk shall also forward
one certifed copy to the Tax Assessor of Rankin County,
Mississippi and obtain the Certifcate of said Tax Assessor stating
that the personal property transferred to ’s free port
warehouse for storage in transit to a fnal destination outside the
State of Mississippi has been placed on the appropriate tax roll
as "non-taxable" for the duration of the exemption.
After a full discussion of this matter, Supervisor moved that the
foregoing Resolution be adopted and said Motion was seconded by
Supervisor , and upon the question being put to a vote, the Resolution
was adopted by the afrmative vote of of the members of the
Board of Supervisors present.
Whereupon, the foregoing Resolution was declared past and adopted
at a meeting of the Board of Supervisors of County, Mississippi on this
the day of , 20 .
