How effective is the new Facebook Lead Ads?
So you're wondering how effective the Facebook Lead Ads are?Facebook Lead ads are touted as an amazing new feature when they launched over a year ago. There have been some major issues with their effectiveness including lack of response of the leads who come in through this path and an inability to customize buttons and links once a leads submits.Recently advertisers realized that just asking for an email address in lead ads creates a list that is less that responsive. It appears that the process is so streamlined that the person submitting doesn't even know they are submitting information. For leads being called shortly thereafter, it's common that the person has no idea where you got their information. So how do we make this tool more useful and increase the quality of the leads coming in?Make it harder to submit the information! (weird right!)Making Facebook Lead Ads more effective-Use the Lead ads form to ask more question.Ask for a yes/no answer that they have to toggle.Confirm that they understand that they are submitting an email and someone will follow up.In the image above I added two types of questions that force people to reply. One is a simple question that they have to fill in the answer. They will have to type an answer to submit, because this question will not be autofilled from the profile. This could be something to confirm this is their best contact information or that they can expect to be called about the offer. The second type of question is a multiple choice question, where they have to choose something like YES or NO through a toggle switch. This is simpler than forcing them to write it in but they still have to actively read what is happening once they submit.Another recent change (Dec 2017) is the ability to customize the Thank you page buttons. Now you can add custom call to action text and help direct people to another place/step in your sales funnel. Previously it could only go to a single url, and the CTA was "go to website". This lets advertisers get creative and draw people down the funnel.Alternately you could use the "download" text to deliver the download immediately.Customizing the thank you page creates a smoother transition away from Facebook for your qualified leads. With these options it's up to you to see How effective is the new Facebook Lead Ads can be and make the best of a great too Facebook offers to users.Lead ads is something that is easy to test as an alternative to a normal landing page. As people expect faster and faster online experiences, it makes sense to continue to test lead ads and see how well if works for you. What if you are using Lead ads already and the results start to decline? Read about it here.======================================== SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING | LEAD GENERATIONIs your business running more than $2500 a month in Facebook ads and wondering if you are getting the most for your money? I am starting a website chat SaaS business, hoping to price it at $249/annually. How should I acquire 3,000 paying customers in
Wow. Well, you have your work cut out for you. Have you launched yet? 2015 has only 4 months left, and without a budget for marketing, a high price point and not as many features as your competitors, you have a very steep uphill climb. @Ashli had all great tips to share. I'll add a few:Research your target market and competition. Do a comp analysis, and find what you offer your market that your competition doesn't. Is it faster/better/cheaper? Get as detailed as possible. This is repeating what Ashli said, but it bears repeating. In this shortened period of time, focus on analytics. Where are people falling off of your website? Where do they come from? Are they finding you using the keywords you've used? Then, fix what's broken. Analyze and optimize. Utilize social media. DON'T BE A MEGAPHONE SELLING YOUR PRODUCT, though. Make sure you balance promo copy with helpful tips that relate to your business. It's your cheapest (free) option for marketing at this point. Make it easy for people to join on social (use the Facebook Tabs to add a app store or the CTA button for people to download or sign up for your platform, Pinterest and Instagram "Buy Now" buttons, etc.).Create and execute an influencer strategy. Find the influencers in your niche, and send them a quick one-pager about your product, ask them to review it, and give them an incentive to do so. Let them share a special code to their users that would act as a referral (maybe 20% off, or free trial, or something like that).Change your tactic for talking about price. Instead of saying $250 a year, say only $20/mo. This changes the perception of price and value in people's heads. Use social ads. Once you've streamlined and defined your target market, then target them with ads and sponsored posts. Promote what you're solving for them...

As a programmer, what's the dumbest thing someone asked you?
Well, only other developers will likely appreciate this (or understand it). I wasn’t asked it myself but another (senior) IT guy I knew was. I only witnessed it. Many years ago I was working on contract for a local gov’t agency. Another developer (and a lousy one even before I witnessed this situation), was working on something that required synchronization (locking), so that only one user could access a piece of data at a time (using a mutex or whatever). Multiple users at different workstations would ultimately be using this app to access shared data so his code had to handle locking correctly (in the presence of “simultaneous” access by more than one user). This would occur when a user clicked on some button (say, an OK button). In order to test that his code worked however, he actually asked the other senior IT guy to go to his machine, start the app, and then to phone him (they were maybe 10 to 15 meters from each other). Both would then navigate to the button in the program that triggers his synchronization code (once the button was pressed), and he actually instructed the other guy to (brace yourself) click the button on the count of 3. He actually counted “1, 2 … 3” and both would click the OK button on “3”. This was supposed to trigger the synchronization code he was testing simultaneously, as if the relevant code (mutex) would really kick in at the same time as the other developer (given the nanoseconds of precision that would be required to accomplish this by two people clicking the same button on two different machines - nearly impossible). I sat there in my cubicle witnessing this, probably with my mouth wide open in disbelief, that anyone could be so stupid. The other guy knew how “dumb” this was as well (obviously, and he was a very smart guy anyway), but later told me he didn’t care. He was at the top of his seniority classification (not actually a programmer himself anymore), wasn’t involved with this app (knew very little about it), and just did it as a favor because he was asked. He then went back to his own work, likely shaking his head as well.

How do I protect my CRM data according to GDPR?
There are lots of tools that will claim to be the solution but ultimately, it’ll come down to you as the data controller. The tools you use (CRM’s, Email marketing etc) are simply the data processors or processing entities.Controller (of personal data) is a natural or legal person, public office, organisational unit or another entity, which (individually or in cooperation with other entities) defines the goals and means of processing personal data.By using any particular tool, you become the Controller of personal data which you enter into the application.Processing entity is a natural or legal person, public office, organisational unit or another entity, which processes personal data on behalf of the data controller. A CRM would be an entity which processes the personal data, which is then entered into the application by its users.Processing data on behalf of the controller or the processing entity. The processing entity and each person acting on behalf of the controller, or the processing entity, having access to personal data - processes the data only upon instruction of the data controller, unless the law requires otherwise. Some key areas to review of your existing systems may be;Can you fence client or prospect data so that only those who need to see the data can (i.e. the owner of that deal or the Account Manager)?Do you need to add the person’s contact to the CRM in the first place? Can you encrypt sensitive data fields or hide certain info. depending on the user permissions in your CRM. If no, can you obscure sensitive and personal data from employees when access is not necessaryCan you control who can edit, delete or download data from your CRM?If you’re running outbound sales email campaigns or email marketing campaigns, be sure to include a clear Opt-Out or Unsubscribe option. Depending on the country you’re contacting, you may also need an Opt-In or Double Opt-In.Our CRM (livespace.io) has created a ‘Consent Form’ option that allows users to both track and update their client's consent, as well as send out their personalised messages re. Opt-In or Subscriptions. If you’re using marketing tool like MailChimp or SendinBlue, good to ensure the Unsubscribe options on those messages are being synced back to your CRM - either through direct integration or using something like PieSync or Zapier.GDPR is simply a set of regulations concerning your client's personal data and how it should be managed. The GDPR requires companies to implement reasonable data protection measures to protect consumers’ personal data and privacy against data loss or exposure. Article 5. of the GDPR summarises the most important principles and requirements regarding the management of personal data:Lawfulness, fairness and transparency: personal data should be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent mannerLimited purpose: personal data should be collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposesData minimisation: personal data should be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are collectedAccuracy: personal data stored and managed should be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to dateStorage limitation: personal data should be kept in a form which permits the identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processedConfidentiality and integrity: personal data should be processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measuresThe GDPR provides 8 rights for individuals:1. The right to be informed – organisations are obliged to provide “fair processing information”, typically through a privacy notice and to be transparent over how they use personal data2. The right of access – organisations are obliged to provide individuals with confirmation that their data is being processed, access to the data held about them and any other supplementary information3. The right to rectification – organisations are obliged to rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data, and where appropriate inform any third parties to whom the data has been disclosed4. The right to erasure -organisations are obliged to provide individuals with “the right to be forgotten” such that all personal data is either deleted or removed5. The right to restrict– organisations are obliged to provide individuals the ability to “block” or suppress processing of personal data held in certain circumstances6. The right to portability – organisations are obliged to allow individuals to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes;7. The right to object – organisations are obliged to inform individuals of this right and provide the ability to object to the processing of their data on ground relation to their particular situation8. The right not to be subject to automated decision-making – organisation are obliged to provide safeguards for individuals against the risk that a potentially damaging decision is taken without human intervention.Below is chart of the Data Subject Rights under GDPR (it’s a screenshot so may not be entirely clear).Hope this helps!

What is the best CRM for a startup/ business?
It all depends on your current needs and situation. So instead of recommending a single CRM software, I'd rather share my 4-point criteria in choosing the CRM that suits well with your needs:Ease-of-useEven with excellent features, a CRM will be useless if it is complicated and hard to use. Believe me, your employees won't use it. Look for the one that is easy to use and the one that you can roll out quicker.Remote accessAs a new startup, there will be situations that you must go off-site or mobile. That's the reason why it is important that you pick the CRM that can be accessed remotely. This also ensures that your data is updated all the time.Software integrationMost likely, you are already using another software or a different set of tools. In choosing a CRM, take this into consideration. You want a CRM that can integrate seamlessly with your existing technology.Multichannel customer supportWhen your CRM encounter issues, you can't only rely on your IT team. It is important that you choose a CRM provider that offers multichannel customer support. Today, phone, email, and live chat as customer service channels is a must.To ensure the success of your CRM implementation as a new startup, you would want to promote the use of your CRM every day. You would also want to make it easier for your employees by automating some CRM tasks. And one way to do this is by using a CTI like Tenfold.Tenfold is an intelligent assistant tool that integrates CRMs with phone systems. Tenfold's features are perfect for CRM implementation.Features like automatic call logging that eliminates useless clicks, click-to-dial that converts all phone numbers into clickable hyperlinks, a floating UI (screen pop) that automatically associates a CRM record with a call, and a call analytics dashboard that provides real-time and historical data. With a software like Tenfold, your employees will not only learn to use the CRM quicker, they will also be more efficient and effective in their daily tasks.

Why do I have an account on Quora if I never signed up?
I’ve noticed that a lot of people have asked this question in various ways and, through research and experience, I’ve found out why.Quora API can find your profile details from your existing accounts like Google, Facebook and/or other places and automatically make you an account on Quora without you ever consenting to it or realizing it.When you finally ‘join’ Quora officially, you log in to an account that was probably made ages before you even actually joined. It is likely that you searched up something on a search engine that associated to Quora somehow and you logged in with one of your social media accounts, generally speaking, Facebook. Many of Quora’s website traffic is from people searching things on the internet and to find answers, looked in Quora. To disconnect social media accounts that have connected, you can go to Your profile picture > Settings from the drop down menu > Account from the side menu > and scroll down to see Connected Accounts. Disconnect all or some as desired and done! Those accounts now have no connection to Quora whatsoever. You can also completely delete your Quora account : Your profile picture > Settings > Privacy > Delete Account.
