hi uh this is Gloria with Belmont Business Solutions and in today's video we're going to go over on how to create salor seats so if you turn over to the left hand side where it says new and then you scroll over customers under customers their sales receipt and you select it you're going to select your customer select the date the payment type let's say we receive cash and then we select save and close and you created a Sal receipt um another way to create batch of many sales receipts is you go to your gear icon and then you do import data you um select this dropdown and then on the DRP down there should be uh sales receipt which it doesn't give me an option on on this um on not sure is it it's probably because it's an it's a sample company but normally you would have uh an option to create sales receipts and then um you could do that from there and okay so I'm just reviewing here really quick um see if there's something that I missed and I did not um well and we also want to go over why are we creating sales receipts so sales receipts are um are used to record uh immediate cash based transactions um it's also used to track tracking income in real time so instead of creating an invoice um all the time you can just create a sales receipt without doing an invoice um also to manage the cash flow effectively um to avoid duplicating entries and errors um that's why you use a sales receipt um to gain customer and sales insight to calculate uh and track sales tax also to generate accurate reports for financial an analysis um that's why you create sales receipt uh to facilit and also to facilitate bank account reconciliation um and to maintain an audit Trail for compliance so overall sales receip is a streamline um of the recording of the instant payments so what essentially what we're doing is we're streamlining that process instead of doing an invoice you do Sor seat uh and and this is just to improve the accuracy of in the financial uh records and to provide valuable insight into your business cash flow and sales performance that's why we would use sales re seed another um another reason we use sales re seed is for tracking purposes um if you are a nonprofit you can use sales receipts to track your customers um so let's say you want to pull a report at the end of the year you can use sales receipt um and I know I just created one but I'm going to do it again and I'm just gonna say they paid Visa um and then I'm going to select something here just to select it and pull the data to show you we save and close and if you want to pull a report of that customer so there's Bill wind surf shop and then we can see a history of their payments and of course this is a sample company so there's a lot of things here um but you can see all the transactions and this could be useful for the end of year if you're nonprofit and you want to know how much the customer donated this is very this is a very useful um thing to use instead of invoice it's more streamlined um it's better for tracking purposes so if you um if you're looking to do that for your nonprofit I would use a sales receipt and you can also pull um another way you can pull a report you go to reports go to um sales by customer detail and it tells this is one report but you can do also sales by customer summary and as you can see it gives you your company's name and the total of each of the payments that you have received per customer and this is very useful for the end of year and if I want to do um just this year and here you are so um thank you for watching I hope you like this um video please subscribe and share thank you
