what does it really look like to be a freelance graphic designer so here's the thing I started freelancing about a year ago and the one thing I found personally difficult is the abundance of content out there telling me how easy it was to create £10,000 a month have every single logo design signed off first time without any Amendment oh and acquire just the most ridiculous amount of leads by just posting some stuff on Instagram this is a problem for me because I felt like they were just setting the bar so high that I was never going to be able to become a freelance graphic [Music] designer look I think I just got sick and tired of watching videos people telling me how to make £10,000 a month how they woke up at 4:00 a.m. read an entire book meditated stretched went out for a walk ate spinach and eggs on toast then got to work had their clients sign off on everything and then they got to go out for coffee for 4 hours and then come home again and then just turn over 100 Grand in a year while I'm here going okay I I just need to make $100 that would be great there was no one that was just showing me the realistic side of doing this and none of the stuff I was watching was inspire me at all if I'm honest it probably just made me want to run away from being a designer and just go back to my 9 to5 job so I'm trying to change that over the past year I have built the most amazing community of over 400,000 designers and I've seen how my much smaller videos of of how I come up with logo design ideas or how I present that idea to a client has helped so many of you guys and has given some of you the kick up the ass you needed to start taking logo design and graphic design seriously and make it work for you I guess the point of me making these videos moving forward is I get to show you guys a much more realistic side to being a freelance graphic designer and everything I learned along the way I want to be able to share with you guys in real time hopefully this will actually inspire you and give you the necessary tools that you need to make graphic design work for you but the problem is I'm just one guy I'm here in my home studio just trying to figure this out myself and somehow I need to figure out how to document this process and share it with you guys time is definitely going to be against me so I think I've got a goal I want to work towards I just need to make one of these videos a month these videos are going to be about things like my wins my fails how I come up with creative ideas how I present those ideas to my clients maybe even how I come up with my logo design reals and how I share my work online now I'm going to make sure that there's going to be zero gatekeeping if I learn something I will share it with you if I fail you'll know about it if I win you will also know how I did it now this could be really good this could be really entertaining and educational or it could go really wrong and end up looking like an idiot but I think it's worth a shot if this sounds familiar to you then there's only one thing I need you to do just hit subscribe let me know that you're interested in this if there's something I can genuinely offer the creative Community then that's what I want to do and if I can share a more realistic side of the design industry in in real time with you guys then I have to do it this is one of my first ever long form videos so please go easy on me but moving forward I'm going to spend a little bit more energy A little bit more time making videos just like this one so please do keep an eye out for things like logo design tips Adobe Illustrator tips how to get clients how to deal with client feedback and all that good stuff thank you so much for all the continued love and support it's absolutely amazing welcome to the fellow designers Club peace [Music]
