I love the price. Nice features without the high price tag. We don't send that many documents so its nice to have a reasonable option for small business.

Invoice letterhead template word for Public Relations

- [Instructor] Hi, and welcome back to myexcelonline.com Today, we are going to go over how to create a custom letter. Have you ever gone into Word and just scrolled through these existing templates? Today, I wanted to show you how you can make these templates from scratch. So I've created a template for myexcelonline.com and I'm gonna show you how I went about creating this so maybe you can create a custom letter like this, either for your business, your company, or just if you're making invitations or wedding announcements or something like that, that you would like to send out to a lot of people that you know. So in order to create this, I opened Word and I just selected a new blank document. And if you look back at my template here and think about what's on this screen, let's point out a few things. There are some triangles in the corners. There are some rectangles at the top and the bottom. I've pasted a logo, a QR code and dimly in the background, you can see the Excel icon and that is called a watermark. So let's start with the watermark. I'm going to go up here to the Design ribbon and go over here to watermark. And then I already have the Excel image, so I'm going to click on custom watermark. And in this window, I'm going to select picture watermark and select picture and I'm going to click from a file. And from my files in here, I'm just going to select the Excel picture and say, insert. Before I click, okay, I want to point out that this washout box is checked and that will give the watermark a faded look in the background. So I'm going to click, okay and you can see how the Excel logo is now in the background of my document. So looking at my template again, what I would like to do is get my logo on top of the screen. So I'm going to go back and go up to insert, pictures from this device, and I'm going to select my logo and I can see that my logo was put on the screen. So I'm going to stretch that for a minute and I'm going to go up to home and I'm going to center that across the screen. Now, if I look closely at my logo, I will see four colors inside the X. And what I would like to do is I would like to match the exact color in my logo to screen. So how do I go about doing that? Well, I'm going to go down here and type Paint, and I'm going to open up Paint. If you have windows, you probably have Paint already installed on your computer. And once I'm in Paint, I'm going to go to file, open. And I'm going to select my logo and say, okay, and I'm going to use this tool right here. This is called the color picker. First, I'm going to click the dropper and then I'm going to click on the green. And if I see that color 1 over here was marked green and I'm going to click edit colors. And over here I can see red is 93, green is 175 and blue is 93. So I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Word, and I'm going to go up to insert. And I'm going to go over here to shapes, and I'm going to click a right triangle right here. And then I'm going to draw that on the screen and move it down to the corner of my page. And I can make that a little bit bigger by hovering my mouse to the double-headed arrow, holding my left mouse button down and just dragging up to the right. So now you can see that this new menu has appeared because I have a shape selected and it's called shape format. So I'm going to click on that and go over to Shape Fill, and I'm going to go to more fill colors. And when I look on here, I can see red, green, blue and like I said, I would like this green to match my logo exactly. So I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Paint and I'm going to see that it is 93, 175, 93. So I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Word, and I'm going to type in 93, 175 and 93 and I can see the color changing right here to green so I'm going to say, okay. So now I'm going to copy this triangle down here by hitting Control + C and then I'm going to hit Control + V and I now have a new piece and I'm going to hover the mouse until it's a cross and then I'm gonna hold down my left mouse button and I'm going to drag. And then I'm going to select this circular arrow and just rotate my image to the right and move it to the bottom corner of my document. And I'm going to copy and paste again. Wait until I get those two arrows and move it up to this corner of the screen and rotate it and push that up into this corner and then I'm going to one more time hit Control + C and Control + V, move it over here, rotate it to that corner and push it up in the right-hand corner. If you are liking this video, please give us a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel to get new weekly Microsoft Office tips. And I can see that my logo here is a little bit hidden, so I just want to select it, hit Control + X, hit enter a couple of times and paste it again at the top of my page. So now if I Alt + Tab back to my original document, you can see that I have these two boxes up here and I have a QR code to add. So I'm going to Alt + Tab back into the version of Word that I'm working with to create this. And I'm going to go up to insert, shapes and a rectangle, and I'm going to draw one rectangle from this side to the other and under shape format, I'm going to go to my shape outline and say no outline. And then I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Paint and cancel out of here and this time, I'm going to use my color picker to select the blue. And again, I can go to edit colors and I can see that this time, the color is 14, 99, 181. So if I Alt + Tab, back to Word, I'm going to go to shape format, and I'm going to go to Shape Fill, and go to more fill colors and I'm going to type in 14, 99 and 181. And I can see that that blue is changing and it's only slightly different than the default, that Word had put in. So I'm going to say, okay, and I'm going to hold down my left mouse button and push this rectangle up. And then I'm going to hit Control + C, Control + V to make a copy of that rectangle. And I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Paint, and I'm going to cancel out of here. And this time I'm going to use the color picker to pick the yellow, and then I'm going to go to edit colors. And I can see that this is 250, 194, 101. So I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Word, and I'm going to go under shape format and go to Shape Fill more fill colors and I'm going to type in 250, 194 and 101. And you can see that I'm getting that yellow color. And then I'm going to say, okay, and I'm going to move this rectangle down. Again, I'm going to hit Control + C, Control + V. This time I'm gonna move this rectangle all the way to the bottom and I want this one to be the green, but this time when I go up to shape format, I can go to Shape Fill and right here, I can see recent colors. So I'm going to click on the green that I have already used. And one last time I'm going to hit Control + C, Control + V, and I'm going to move that rectangle. And I'm going to go under shape format, Shape Fill more fill colors. And I'm going to Alt + Tab back to Paint and this time I'm going to color pick the red and go under edit colors and I can see that this is 173, 8, 8. So I'm going to Alt + Tab back and do 173, 8, 8 and say, okay. And next I would like to insert my QR code. My QR code is a way to allow whoever receives this letter to take a picture of it and get to my website really quickly. So I'm going to hit enter a few times. I'm going to go to insert, pictures, this device, and I'm going to select my QR code. Now my QR code came in very large. So if I hold down the left mouse button and just drag towards the center, I can make this a lot smaller and I can put this anywhere I want on my document. So I'm just going to click above it and hit enter a few times until it's at the bottom of my screen, where I would like it. So now I have made myself some custom letterhead for my company. If I wanted to type some text in here, I could directly type in here on my keyboard, or if I would like text that would be moveable, I could go up to insert, text box and just put it in a text box and say, "This is my Excel Online." and I could format this text box to be centered, to not have any borders but the nice thing about using a text box is I can select it and move it around on my screen anywhere I would like it to be. So just keep that in mind, if you wanna start typing up your letter on a custom letter like this.
