Information templates are used to collect information for specific catalog items during requisition creation. In this example, we'll create an information template for the catalog item Business Cards. We'll begin by navigating to the Catalogs work area. The Tasks panel lists all of the catalog management tasks that you can perform. We'll select the Manage Information Templates task. And then create the information template. I'll select a Procurement Business Unit. We'll assign an information template name and display name. The display name appears as a header above the attributes for the information template. We'll enter the instruction text for the business card item in the catalog. This text is displayed with the information template attributes, to assist users in providing the requested information. We'll select the appropriate value from the Attribute List. The list of values in the Attribute List can be customized by your system administrator in the Setup and Maintenance work area. The Attachment Category determines who can see the attachments created for the information template. The template information captured in a requisition will be sent to the supplier as an attachment. For now, we'll retain the default attachment category To Supplier. Next, we'll associate this information template to a category. I'll select the Office Supplies category. I can also associate the information template I'm creating, with an item directly. I'll select the Corporate Business Card item. When you create a requisition for a corporate business card, the business cards attributes appear. Finally, we'll save and close the information template. A message is displayed on the Manage Information Templates page to confirm that the information has been saved, and the Business Cards Information template has been added to the template list.
