when you have a new business you have more time than you have money so your job is supposed to be going out and telling people about the problem you solve until you're so busy that you have more work to do than you have time [Music] so i would get a list of clients in my area that have a house over 750 thousand dollars the home costs or was sold for more than 750 000. some of these depending on the area you're in the home value in mina arkansas of a 750 000 house is probably a little bit different than a house in san diego you face your business right you gotta have a website you gotta land you gotta have something i would have a destination for those people when they looked me up to go to one page 10 pages budget it's not whatever if i can't get to a destination of where you're going and have exactly what you do explain to me without me having to talk to a human to fill something out to do that like if you're not doing that nowadays you're not doing something right because your competitors or anyone else in the market has that set up in some way shape or form i'm busy i'm on my phone i need ease i need speed right now i'd get some yard signs no matter what yard signs regardless of how anyone feels about them i would be out with my own time right i just started i got this thousand dollars i'm going to buy some signs and on the freeway exits coming out of target the whole foods whole foods and this is an expensive grocery store and people that eat healthy usually have money so when i can target a customer that shops at whole foods it's going to be better than when the shops at walmart and coming out of these neighborhoods i would have a sign the sign would have a barcode after you have the signs out you know like you're gonna generate a couple leads right someone asked for an estimate someone did this whatever i would be sending postcards to the neighbors of these jobs where people had been interested from the effort that i put in because now you're getting something in their hands people know direct mail is a little expensive or takes some time or does whatever you're planting a seat you're also in those neighborhoods putting out door hangers they're seeing your truck driving around you're at the gas station in your polo they're seeing the back of it seeing your company a little bit of that budget should be taken to facebook on the most rudimentary do a video hey i'm dave this is what i do for a living if you have one of these problems let me come check it out we're here to help we're local i went to high school wherever create some intimacy create some trust create some memorability boosted post in the zip code where you have leads coming in from it's not this 20 mile radius of my service area and spend 200 bucks and nothing happens and i say it doesn't work facebook is such a beautiful thing because like groups groups on boosted posts doing ads you guys figure out if you want to do that or not i would recommend if i had a thousand dollars i'd probably spend two 300 of it on facebook in a targeted zip code for new businesses facebook and next door are huge because you can get in groups and you can search keywords and see when someone had a question about something you know the answer to i don't give a if it's from two days ago two months ago two years ago whatever it'll bump to the top once you comment on it establish yourself as an authority in these local groups like anyone who's not on next door right now commenting on posts and threads and saying i'm dave the the pet i'm dave the deck guy if you have a question about a deck i'm dave call me being helpful showing they have this picture of this thing that happened with their trex deck that they had installed eight years ago find that and comment on it and use authority and trust establish yourself as an expert and people will hire you as the expert [Music] [Music]
