what's going on you guys my name is Scott and I clean windows and welcome to my youtube channel today we're gonna talk about how to approach storefronts to get the window cleaning business alright guys welcome back please take the time to subscribe to my channel real quick give me a thumbs up and let's get into this thing storefront some of you guys get intimidated by storefronts um you guys have messaged me on Instagram you've sent me comments things like that and you get intimidated by storefronts let me tell you what works for me first of all there's a little secret thing that you have to have before you can do storefronts or any other service industry business you have to have people scales you got to be able to talk to people and that is something that I have no problem with I'll go over here and talk to one of these pine trees and make a conversation and me and him will be friends before the days over with I've never met a stranger I can talk to anybody anywhere about anything but if we're gonna get down to it this is exactly how I approach all my storefronts and I've been landing about 75 80 percent of everyone that I've spoke to when I get out of my vehicle I've already got a game plan I've got my business card in my left because I shake with my right I walk in whoever I come into contact with at this business I introduce myself and I ask if they are the manager not can you go get the manager I ask you if they are the manager because it makes them feel special if they are then we go from there if they're not they go get the manager and then we go from there I say hey my name is Scott I own Gerard window-cleaning we are a locally owned professional window cleaning business we are licensed and insured I noticed that your windows were very dirty and we would love to service your business for you the very next question that usually follows is well how much do you charge how much will it be that means that the door is open and what you say next could either make it or break it for you I do it based on what I feel I can do the job for I don't base my prices on anybody else because if I lower my prices down to bucket bob these business owners talk to each other and if I do this one for 25 and the next one for 45 and they're around the same size they're gonna get a little upset so I keep my prices at what I will charge this is what I charge because if you take the time to learn anything about marketing or anything like that if you go into a jewelry store and there's two identical one is $9.99 and one is $9.99 which one are you gonna want to buy probably the 999 dollar one because it says what it's worth it it tells you that there is value there so you keep your process where they're at because if you take time and you take pride in your service in the business that you offer the service that you offer those people will see that it is worth it for what you're doing so if I get that storefront business I'll let them know exactly at the moment I look at my calendar and I let them know hey we will be back in the area on this date what time is best for you and we book it let me tell you something else that helps do not approach a storefront during their busy hours like lunch or anything like that either go before lunch like 10:30 9:30 somewhere around there or after lunch around 2:00 3:00 somewhere around there because if you interrupt these businesses when they're busy they're automatically gonna be upset with you and they're gonna get them bad impression first impressions are the best thing in the world go in there make sure you make a good one the last thing I'm gonna tell you before I get back to my family enjoy my Sunday off I'm gonna tell you that you are not trying to sell anything to any body I want you guys to burn this into your brain you're not trying to sell anything to anybody you are trying to provide something that they need that's it it's like toilet paper you guys people don't have to be sold toilet paper they know that they need it if they've got to have it so they buy it same thing with business owners and windows if your storefront is nasty you will not have a good impression on your business but if your windows are clean and people can see out of them and they can see through them it makes a world of difference for your clients so you remember that you're not trying to sell anything you're just trying to provide something that they really need like toilet paper so I hope that helps somebody you guys leave me a comment below what works for you I'm looking these storefronts and things like that give us a thumbs up make sure you subscribe god bless stay squeaky
