Hello. I'm going to be talking to you about managing data processing for CDC surveillance projects using metadata. My name is Louise Hadden. I am from Abt Associates. And I presented at my first SAS conference in 1996. And I've never looked back. And without further ado, I'd like to get into my really interesting subject matter. Talk about putting the meta into the data. I work on a large scale multi-site-- two large scale multi-site CDC surveillance studies involving COVID testing and other health metrics. Any big study involves data acquisition, scheduled deliverables, data and programming management concerns, ever changing data structures, dangers of programming silos, data and quality concerns, tracking and communication, and, most of all, time concerns. My goal for this presentation today is to give a brief overview of how we manage the data management side of things and how we use common SAS tools to achieve our mission, which is to get quality documented data delivered on time.
