2011Gr eenGovSymposi um SpeakerAppl i cat i on Oct .31-Nov.2,2011 Was hi ngt on,DC Application  Deadline:  August  5,  2011   The  2011  GreenGov  Symposium,  to  be  held  October  31-­‐November  2,  2011,  in  Washington,  DC,  represents  the   second  time  the  White  House  Council  on  Environmental  Quality  (CEQ)  will  bring  together  leaders  from   Federal,  state,  local  and  tribal  governments,  nonprofit  and  academic  communities  and  the  private  sector  to   identify  opportunities  around  greening  the  Federal  Government.  During  the  3-­‐day  educational  event,   participants  will  share  challenges  and  best  practices,  and  discuss  cutting-­‐edge  approaches  for  the  future.   President  Obama  signed  Executive  Order  13514  on  Federal  Leadership  in  Environmental,  Energy  and  Economic   Performance  on  October  5,  2009.  The  GreenGov  Symposium  provides  an  educational  experience  for  Federal   and  non-­‐federal  stakeholders  to  discuss  the  performance  goals  set  by  Executive  Order  13514.  The  Executive   Order  commits  the  Federal  Government  to  leading  by  example  in  its  operations  by  requiring  Federal  agencies   to  set  greenhouse  gas  reduction  targets,  increase  energy  efficiency,  reduce  fleet  petroleum  consumption,   conserve  water,  reduce  waste,  support  sustainable  communities,  and  leverage  Federal  purchasing  power  to   promote  environmentally-­‐responsible  products  and  technologies.   Call  for  Speaker  Abstracts   ACCO  and  CEQ  are  looking  for  speakers  with  subject  matter  expertise  on  sustainability  efforts  in  Federal   government  operations,  including  clean  energy,  waste,  water,  supply  chain,  green  buildings,  sustainable   communities,  fleet  management  and  vehicle  technologies,  climate  risk  and  resilience,  defense  and  national   security,  and  education  and  training.    GreenGov  Symposium  attendees  are  offered  an  unparalleled  value   proposition,  including  relevant  educational  offerings,  focused  research,  and  measurable  results.  Please  keep   these  goals  in  mind  while  developing  your  speaker  proposal.    You  may  propose  a  lecture  or  panel  discussion   for  a  session.   You  must  complete  this  form  in  its  entirety  for  your  application  to  be  considered  by  the  GreenGov   Symposium  Program  Development  Committee  (representatives  of  ACCO,  CEQ,  and  other  partner   organizations  who  determine  the  content  and  programming  for  the  conference).  If  you  are  selected  by  the   program  development  committee,  ACCO  staff  will  contact  you  with  dates  for  upcoming  deadlines  and  further   guidance/materials,  including  speaker  rules,  schedules  and  instructions,  and  GreenGov  Symposium  slide   templates.  Speaker  applicants  may  also  be  considered  for  panel  discussions  or  breakout  sessions  other  than   those  suggested  in  this  application.    Please  e-­‐mail  speakers@GreenGov2011.org  with  questions.   Timeline           July  20,  2011  –  Call  for  speaker  abstracts  issued   August  5,  2011  –  Speaker  applications  due   August  15,  2011  –  ACCO  and  CEQ  will  notify  all  applicants  of  their  selection  status  by  this  date  (note:   some  proposals  will  remain  under  consideration  as  alternates  through  late  September)   September  15,  2011  –  Deadline  for  speakers  and  moderators  to  make  lodging  reservations   September  15,  2011  –  Track  advisors  to  conduct  planning  calls  with  moderators  and  speakers   October  1,  2011  –  Deadline  for  speakers  and  moderators  to  register  using  comp  and  discount  codes   October  24,  2011  –  All  slides/presentations  due   October  31  -­‐  November  2,  2011  –  2011  GreenGov  Symposium   Page  1  of  2   2011Gr eenGovSymposi um SpeakerAppl i cat i on Oct .31-Nov.2,2011 Was hi ngt on,DC Application  Deadline:  August  5,  2011   Please  note  that  all  speaker  abstracts  must  be  submitted  using  the  official  web  site   submission  tool  at  http://www.greengov2011.org/speaker.html.     ABOUT  THE  PERSON/ORGANIZATION  SUBMITTING  THE  ABSTRACT   1.
