Contract of Employment between Church and Organist This Agreement is made on this the ____ day of ___________, 20___, by and between _____________ , a nonprofit religious corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of _________________ (hereafter called “Church”), and having corporate offices located at __________________________________, and ____________________ (hereafter called “Organist”), who presently resides at __________________________________. 1. The purpose of this Agreement is to provide appropriate devotional music for the Church’s services, the parties agree to cooperate toward that end. 2. Church hereby employs Organist as ___________________ of its church and choir music, and Organist hereby agrees to accept such position, attend and serve at all regular services and necessary rehearsals, and, in general, to serve to the best of his/her ability, using due diligence at all times to promote the church music to a high degree of excellence and efficiency. 3. For the satisfactory performance of this Agreement, the Church agrees to pay to Organist $____________ per month, payable _________________ (e.g., bi-monthly or weekly) , provided, however, that Organist must furnish, at his/her own expense, an acceptable substitute when it is necessary for Organist to be absent from his/her duties.
