Temporary Pastor AgreementPage 1 of 3 Temporary Pastor Agreement This Agreement is made on the day of , 20 , between the , a nonprofit corporation organized and (Name of Church) existing under the laws of the state of , with its principal office (Name of State) located at , , (Street Address) (City, State, Zip Code) referred to herein as the Church, and , of (Name of Temporary Pastor) , , (Street Address) (City, State, Zip Code) referred to herein as Pastor. Responsibilities and Goals It is agreed that the Temporary Pastor will fulfill the following responsibilities: Lead worship Sundays per month (Number) Teach groups/classes as specified. Do pastoral calling on the sick and shut-ins Call on prospective and new members as appropriate Officiate at weddings as requested Officiate at funerals as requested Plan and moderate Session and Congregational meetings Work with the church groups or committees as specified Train newly-elected officers Perform other administrative duties as specified Serve as head of staff Other responsibilities as specified Goals for this ministry shall be as follows: Maintenance of a healthy congregational life Continuity of leadership Development of short-range goals Preparation of the congregation for the arrival of the new pastor Temporary Pastor AgreementPage 2 of 3 Accountability Agreements: The Temporary Pastor will be accountable to the Committee on Ministry of . (Name) The Temporary Pastor agrees not to be involved with the Pastor Nominating Committee except to see that the committee makes adequate reports. Any suggestions the Temporary Pastor may have are to be submitted to the Committee on Ministry. It is understood that the Temporary Pastor agrees not to be a candidate for the position of Pastor in the church and will work in every way to prepare the way for the coming of an installed pastor. Duration and Termination of Agreement: This agreement is for a period of months from the date of agreement. (Number) This agreement may be terminated by the Session upon 30 days written notice,  by the Temporary Pastor upon 30 days written notice and forfeiture of any payment beyond that due for actual services in the 30-day period. This agreement may be extended in month periods.
