in this training video we're going to be reviewing how to update your tax information in sage employee self-service as a reminder before we get started please remember that all hr forms must be done on a laptop computer or tablet hr forms are not compatible when using a mobile device such as a cell phone the first step is to log into sage employee self-service by entering your username and password and clicking log on remember if you've ever forgotten your username or password please use the username or password help link right here on the sign on page the home screen of your employees self-service page will look different depending on your role within the organization to find forms or any hr related paperwork you're going to use the left hand menu bar find the section that says my menus and find hr forms and click whenever you would like to change information you're going to find the my actions section and click the link that says start an action that applies to me from this screen you can find any of the hr forms that are currently available to you use the drop down menu to select the form that you're looking to complete today we're doing the maryland state tax mw507 plan find the form that you're looking for and click submit on the top of all of our hr forms there are special instructions for how to complete each form each form instructions are a little bit different so please make sure you're paying attention the first thing that you're going to want to complete is the effective date this is the date that you would like the change to take effect please remember you cannot make a change for a date that's in the past so everything needs to at least be on your complete on the completion date or a date in the future after you filled out the effective date you're going to scroll down on the form the next section that you want to pay attention to is the personal information section this is the area where you can see the current information that hr has on file for you in our hr system if the information here is incorrect you need to stop completing this form and go back to change the personal information form after you've confirmed that your personal information is correct continue to scroll down on the field to the tax fields section this is the area of the form where you are going to enter the information that will show up on your tax certificate please pay attention to the various drop downs and links that are provided throughout the tax field section please remember nobody in hr will be able to give you advice or guidance in what to enter in each of these fields on the form that's why it's really important to use the provided links if you need additional help please contact your tax preparer financial advisor or someone in hr for information on the eap that might be able to help you fill out this form after you've completed all of the information in steps one through eight you're going to see the employee's signature section here you type your name and then scroll all the way to the bottom and click the button that says save draft and continue on tax forms it's important to use the save draft and continue button so that you can go back and review to double check that all of the information you entered in the tax fields is showing up correctly on the tax certificate including what your filing status is and your signature after you've reviewed your withholding certificate scroll all the way to the bottom and click initiate action as with all other hr actions you'll know that your form has saved if you are taken to this summary screen from here you can either log off for the day or go back to hr the hr actions home page to create another form if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to kimberly or karen in hr
