Salesforce is more common and used by more sales team.That said, for clients implementing NetSuite ERP, the CRM package is great if they don’t have anything already in place.When Salesforce is already present, we generally integrate Salesforce to NetSuite ERP - it’s not that difficult.In other words, we’d not attempt to pull a sales team off Salesforce to replace it with NetSuite CRM, even in a NetSuite ERP implementation.The truth is, there’s not as much integration between ERP and CRM as most people think and when you realize you’re asking accounting to let salespeople change customer data - that’s usually the end of any integration talk.Also, going from one CRM system to another is a huge disruption for sales and often results in poor user adoption - which is why when we’re called in to replace a bad CRM system, we normally look to find it’s really a bad implementation of a workable CRM and we come up with ways to make the current system useable.So what do I prefer? Whatever the sales teams like best. We’ll fix everything else in the implementation and rollout.

However they would first have to change the language in all their current agreements (today they specifically say they will not use any of their client’s data). So it is unlikely Salesforce will be able to ever create a data co-op which gives an opportunity for a new entrant to attack the incumbent.A spam data co-op: GmailB2C companies have been using data co-ops forever. Facebook is a data co-op itself (the more people that join Facebook, the more you benefit).But not all B2C companies are obvious data co-ops. Gmail has a super data co-op feature: spam filtering. Every user benefits from the actions of all the other users … which is why Gmail is so effective at fighting spam.Intercom envisioned as a data co-opIntercom is a great product. They can see the same user across many sites and have the potential to make that user’s experience better everywhere. But to the best of my knowledge, they specifically have sworn they will not use data from one site to inform an action in another site. That gives a very broad opportunity for a new player to attack the incumbent Intercom.A newly created competitor to Intercom could sell a data co-op as a feature. When it sees an action that works for a particular user with one customer, it can optimize that action for that user across its other customers.Same is true for new entrants to site search (competing with Algolia), payments (competing with Stripe), and telecom APIs (competing with Twilio).Quickbooks, Freshbooks, and Xero as a data co-opImagine how cool a data co-op integrated in accounting software would be. They end up in a tug-of-feature-war.The reason traditional SaaS markets are so competitive is that there is no product in the space that is obviously better than the others.Data co-ops, by contrast, become more powerful the more customers they have. Every time they sign up a new customer, the product gets better for everyone. That often means that eventually, one product (the one with the most customers) will be the best (by far). I'm not sure getting a list of CRM software is going to help you - we always answer a question like that with "what are your objectives/what do you want it to do for you?" The question on affordability will also be driven by what sort of business you are - for example, if you're a local hair salon or florist and your total customer base is (for example) 1000, then your needs will be different to if you're an online retailer that could ship any product to anywhere in the world.If you have the opportunity, I'd recommend you speak to someone who knows about CRM - discuss your needs with them, help them understand your business (and your budget) and work it back from there. However if you're the type of person that just likes to get stuck in and give things a go then I'd recommend Hubspot CRM - they're got a "free for life" product that gives you basic CRM functionality including email marketing. It pulls in a level of social data but not a huge amount.
