Hence, Oracle is downsizing globally and growth is practically NIL.Which means, if you’re in one of the Apps or Middleware or DB teams, whether Ops, Sales, Pre-Sales or Consulting, you practically have no growth. ZERO career growth, ZERO in terms of salaries, ZERO in terms of perks.Oracle India top management are all ex-Sun Microsystems guys; they have a gang which they have formed and for the rest of the employees; its like hitting a glass-ceiling. They only masturbate one another; play around with the lives of everyone apart from that. Unless you’re remotely connected to Sun or connected to someone who was a Senior leadership at Sun; your total worth is less than horse-shit in Oracle India.Amount of actual work is NIL compared to the amount of politics that happens within the LOBs. Practically, in any company on Earth; you will never see a bigger bunch of incompetent guys at the same time in the same room.Folks only talk, talk, talk, do politics and talk. If you’re an Engineer / Software Developer, this is probably the worst company to join on Earth. DO NOT JOIN. It will destroy your career. Dev stack is minimum 10-year old; and Sales guys who are biggest idiots (mostly folks who cannot find another job elsewhere) are still selling Oracle WebLogic and J2EE platforms for development. Its like a joke in the modern-day era.Middle-management is made up of managers who have sucked a lot of dicks and finally after 10–12–15 years in oracle India; have become managers. You will never find bigger brain-less morones than these in any place in the world. Their only reason for being in the company is to find naive employees, get them recruited by selling the Oracle dream, free cookies and biscuits and then get them worked out… the only thing you will get trained on is POLITICS and nothing else.Agree with your boss on anything and everything; and you may end up getting a 3–5% raise. Do not agree with your boss, or you’re honest and upright; you may actually be in the same position in the same seat in the same salary for 15 years. There’s loads of such old furniture in Oracle India.Oracle globally is the only company in the world which BREEDS INCOMPETENCE. Which means - let us say, Mr. A cheated his customer and sold/forced the customer to buy something which the customer will never use it OR incorrectly bought it for USD 1 Million; whereas Mr. B told his customer, why don’t you buy this item for USD 300,000 and use this cause you do not need to buy the one which is worth USD 1 M cause the solution is either wrong OR doesn’t solve the customer’s problem. In the annual appraisal, Mr. A will most likely get an AWARD and appreciation from the Country Head; and since Mr. A has gone the extra mile to suck his boss’ cock a few times; will get a 3–5% raise also. Mr. B will be either put on notice and could even be fired. Have seen it happen so many times during my years at Oracle.Finally, Oracle is very late to the Cloud game. Cloud for Oracle is basically re-labeling old Oracle SPARC servers and selling them to large customers saying, we are selling Cloud.In a nutshell, if you’re a top engineering talent, really wish to contribute something to the World; do not join Oracle India, or anywhere. Oracle database share is decreasing day by day; and most likely we will have a day soon when the entire world has moved to Open-Source; Oracle is simply irrelevant nowadays.In short, there’s a saying - “A good person - either good in nature OR good in technology leaves Oracle within (less) than a year”. It is so very true. Only guys who want a stable salary end of month OR desperately looking for a job someplace else but not able to find one OR very happy sucking his/her boss’s cock for a long long long time are happy in Oracle.
