[Music] you all need to be aware of mandatory arbitration clauses which are put in every single agreement that all the studios are doing now there's an organization called jams judicial arbitration mediation services and they say you have to go to a confidential jams arbitration if you want to contest this agreement in any way well the problem with that is that there's only 14 people on the panel at jams and if every studio has a deal with jams and any one of those arbitrators so the argument goes rules against the studio significantly they will never work again as a mediator or as an arbitrator and the jams will not give us any information about how these arbitrators rule ordinarily there's a perception that there is bias on the part of the arbitrator's it is non-negotiable I'm saying it's least if you're gonna make us go to arbitration it should be any arbitrator out there not just at jams overall and I ask all of you to tell your lawyers and agents and whomever to say we don't want a mandatory arbitration clause we don't want to go to jams we want to go to the court system we like the people we like juries you know fellow Americans who when they understand what's going on with that prophet say you got to be kidding me and so and if they won't do that then you're gonna put it in writing and send it to the studio and saying you said this is non-negotiable because somebody somewhere down the line is going to contest this and hopefully level the playing field I think a lot of us have been brainwashed into thinking that arbitration is a good thing and I've been fortunate that I've only had a couple of clients in my 20-year career as a lawyer I actually have to go into contested proceeding to resolve an issue and I Nevel and I work together on with a client of mine a few years back and I came to the conclusion that arbitration is not a good thing anything that you can do to end up having an arbitration clause kicked out of your deal is the best thing possible it's very difficult but it doesn't work in your favor at all [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you [Applause]
