How to eSign a document: digital signature legitimateness for NPOs in United States

SPEAKER 1: Hello, from Google for Nonprofits. In this quick tutorial, we'll go over how to request a Google for Nonprofits account, if your organization is outside of the United States. The first question to answer is, is my organization eligible for Google for Nonprofits? In order to be eligible, there are three buckets to consider. Firstly, the country definition of what it means to be a nonprofit in your specific country. In this slide, I've listed out the example of Portugal and those requirements. If you're interested in the specific definition for your country, you can check out our Help Center at support.google.com/nonprofits under Eligibility Guidelines, and we list all country definitions. Secondly, your organization must acknowledge and agree to the application's required certifications regarding non-discrimination, eligible organization type, and usage. These terms will be presented during the account request flow, and that's where you agree to them. And lastly, it's important to keep in mind that the three types of organizations that are not eligible for Google for Nonprofits are government entities, hospital or health care organizations, or schools, academic institutions, or universities. If your organization is eligible for Google for Nonprofits, you can move on to requesting a Google for Nonprofits account. First thing you do is head to google.com/nonprofits. Click on Get Started in the upper right hand corner. From there, the system will walk you through the prompts of requesting a Google for Nonprofits account. The first step is confirming the Google account that you would like to be the first administrative user on your Google for Nonprofits account. You can add different administrative users later when you do have an account, but this is the first admin user. The next step is we'll go ahead and have you confirm that your organization is eligible, and it's not a school, not a hospital, and not a government entity. Then the next step is selecting the country where your organization is located. For the example of this video, I've selected Portugal. From there, we'll ask you to enter your TechSoup validation . TechSoup is a third-party partner that we have that validates all the nonprofit organizations under Google for Nonprofits. If you're outside of the United States, you'll work with the local in-country TechSoup partner to have your nonprofit organization validated. This step here links you directly to reach out to that website to go ahead and get validated by TechSoup. So you'd click on Get a validation from TechSoup. And in this case, since I'm using Portugal as the example, it pops you into the TechSoup Portugal website. There's two options here. Firstly, are you already a member? Maybe you've already validated your organization with TechSoup and are taking advantage of other products and services that they offer. If you're already a member, that's great. You can move quickly to get to log-in and to get a TechSoup for Google for Nonprofits. But if you're not a TechSoup member already, that's totally fine. You can go ahead and click New to TechSoup, and start the process of being validated by TechSoup. Once you've followed all the steps that they have listed on their site, and they've taken the time to review the requirements and review your organization, they'll present you with a TechSoup to use on Google for Nonprofits. You input that on this step here. You can see an example of a listed at the bottom. And from there, you would click Next. So now that your organization has been validated by TechSoup and you've inputted your , the last thing to do is to agree to our terms and conditions, that you're a representative of your organization, that your organization does not discriminate, and that you've read the full Google for Nonprofits terms. Select that you agree, and then submit your request for a Google for Nonprofits account. Once you've submitted your request, you'll get an email that congratulates you and welcomes you to the program. And you can log in again at google.com/nonprofits. And this is an example of an account that you would see. You'll see your nonprofit organization name at the top, three tabs-- Products, Administrators, Settings. And under the Products tab is where you go and you click Get Started under any of the products that you would like to activate. The Administrators tab is used to add new administrative users that you would like to be able to log in to Google for Nonprofits and activate products. And lastly, the Settings tab is where you handle your email preferences. You can select if you want to receive our newsletters, survey and feedback, customize performance suggestions, or special offers. And that's how you get a Google for Nonprofits account. Now, how do you get help? If you have any questions during the process, whether that's requesting a Google for Nonprofits account, activating several products, or tips and tricks for using those products, visit our help center at support.google.com/nonprofits, or check out our YouTube channel at youtube.com/googlefornonprofits.
