that is why it is extremely important to be very smart when you write things on your resume let's say if your designation is team leader in the current company but when you want to apply for a job you want to apply for a project manager role so in your resume you should actually write two things one is role one is designation you should actually write the real designation or title in the current company as team lead but you should write role as a project manager these two can be always different and your interviews you should be very transparent that on paper my title is team lead but in reality I am doing a project manager role and these are the roles and responsibilities which I have executed so that way it is completely transparent to the new employer whoever is hiring you or to the HR in the new company that you are a team leader by designation but you are actually asking for or applying for a project manager role because you have done it in the past company so I hope this clarifies a lot of doubts in your mind sometimes the questions are also around technology so in this form there is no mention of Technology but you don't know when the person responds right whoever is responding to this email what kind of details are they going to share because you are not marked on this email so we really don't know if these reference checks are done for everybody and if done what kind of responses are given in most cases I would believe that the responses are pretty standard so nobody goes into that kind of detail of explaining Technologies Etc but it is a very thin line to work on so my suggestion again is try to be as honest as possible if you want to write something which is futuristic then play smart you can always include certain freelancing projects or certain trainings which you have done outside your work to show that you have gained certain skills which were actually not needed in your job but you have learned on your own alright that's it for today's
