consider before you make that big step of resigning from your job so the first thing the first thing that i always tell everybody if you want to resign from your job please make sure that you have something that will cover your expenses after you leave that job do not listen to what anyone will tell you that leave your job it is toxic it is whatsoever or this is that do not listen to people telling you to quit the job that is sustaining you and your family just because you just want to place people please i know that it might be difficult where you are working at the moment i know that it might be difficult when you're working at the moment but please as you're working there and it's difficult try to make sure that as time goes on you are looking for other means to have uh income or you can be applying for jobs in a passive way it is very easy for you to get a job when you already have a job so when you are working somewhere and not feeling comfortable please apply for different jobs do not quit your job without having something that will cover your expenses for yourself and your family you might find yourself in a desperate situation you might use all the money that you kept all your savings and everything i might even start getting into debts the first thing that i always tell anybody if you are planning to resign from your job do you have something that will cover your expenses if you have then fine if you have another job then good now we move to the resignation process how can you resign next thing for you to consider is that you have understood the labor law and by understanding the level law it simply means that you are forget your contract orally and you are determined if you are having a limited contract or an unlimited contract and i'm talking as regards to the united arab emirates ing to the 1980 law a limited contract and an unlimited contract are still valid and update today they are still valid at the time of making this video however ing to the new law that began in february 2022 only one type of contract will become valid and that is a limited contract of three years but we still have some people under unlimited contract so the government has given these people and their companies one year to revise these contracts it means to transform these unlimited contracts to three years limited contracts and this all this law all these contracts they have their own terms and conditions so the first thing before you resign make sure that you have understood whether you have a limited contract or an unlimited contract next thing after reading your contract you have to determine if there are any clauses in your contract that prevents you from doing certain things and that is for example you have a non-complete clause a non-copied clause simply means that your company has inserted a clause to make you to be unable to join a different company that has all that offers the same services as your current company so if you're working in a specific company they might insert a non-complete clause so that when you leave them you cannot work in a similar company that is providing the same services as them that is a non-complete clause also there are different clauses that can be found in your contract like your notice period some companies put your notice period to two months period some is one month so you have to know all these things because they will help you to plan well when you want to submit your resignation the next thing that you have to consider is absconding do not abscond no matter the situation absconding will only lead you into more problems in this country i know that things get difficult sometimes perhaps condition is not the solution if you abscond you are putting yourself in a situation whereby you might get a ban for one year and you might even get some fines absconding is when an employee leaves the company without notifying that company and some companies usually fight for absconding cases for their employees when the employee does not show up for work for about seven days consecutively so don't leave your company without notifying them that is not resignation that will be called absconding and it might lead to it might lead to a level ban on your part another thing that you need to put in your mind is that you are not supposed to ask for permission from your company before you resign resignation or living in the company is your total right is your full right you don't have to go to your company and say please i want to resign no they don't have anything to say you are the only one that is supposed to make the decision that i want to leave this job and after you make that decision you have to follow the next step and the next step is simply to send an official resignation letter i see so many people make mistakes every day and this leads them into problems it makes they make this mistake like they don't send in an official resignation letter they go and media managers with word of mouth and say sir i want to resign if he said word of mouth even after one month you say you want to leave that company don't tell where's your resignation letter you never sent any official reservation later and may put everything that you have been planning into jeopardy so please try to always send an official resignation letter even if it's your line manager send the resignation letter write an email and send to them send to them and inform them that you want to resign from the company and they should tell you about your last working day this will tell you which day is supposed to be a last working day that is very important especially if you want to move to another company because you need to inform that new company of your last working day it helps them to plan very well so your new your old company is supposed to tell your last working day they have to reply to that email and even if they don't reply you have to calculate one month from the day you send that email one month of one month after you send that email is supposed to be your last working day if your notice period is one month ing to the new law it supposed it clearly states that if you are going to a new employer your notice period is one month period so if i send my resignation on the 1st of may it simply means that on the 30th of may or the last day 30 days after the first of may is supposed to be my last working day it means that you can stay at home and you don't show up at work and when anybody asks you anything you have officially sent an email and that immigration states that you want to resign it doesn't matter whether they reply to that email or not but please if you don't send that email if you don't send an official email to your manager or to your issuer and you just sit at home after one month you will fall into big problems after submitting that email after submitting an official resignation letter or an official email to your manager or your hro you have to be aware of the counter offer in many cases when you submit your examination letter one thing that your company will tell you is that oh please don't leave us we really value you we want to increase your salary we want to give you another position we want to transfer you to this place to get more benefits to get this and that that is what most companies do and please there are many people fall for this trap many people fall for this trap they fall for this trap because when the company says oh oh please don't leave we'll increase your salary a little bit and you can stay with us blah blah blah blah people always buy this and they stay and when you stay you realize that at that period that company is planning at that period that company is planning for your replacement they will search for your replacement very well and when they finally get your replacement they will find a way so that you will leave that company you will leave the company on a bad 14 at the end of the day you will find a way and some of them can even plan something against you and you will leave that company on a path for you so counter offers are very dangerous some people usually accept it but i always advise people if you have media if you have made up your mind to leave then leave no matter the money that are offering you leave if they really value to you if they really value what you're doing in the company they would have increased your salary even before you submitted their resignation later why are they submitting only when you have decided that you want to resign think about it so counter offers are dangerous and please don't accept them if you want to leave leave your company if you want more salary or if you want to stay in your company is better don't send your resignation letter it's better you meet your manager and talk about it talk about it that you need and it's a lovely increase instead of submitting your resignation then hearing about the inquest and staying in that company after submitting your resignation letter and refusing the counter offer the next thing you have to do is to make sure that you save your notices period your notice period if it is one month or two months you have to make sure that you serve that period and saving that period does not mean that it doesn't it doesn't mean that you have to uh slow down on the work that you are doing it doesn't mean that you should reduce your productivity rate whatsoever it doesn't mean that you're supposed to show lack of commitment no during this period you have to work and put in the same energy that you were putting before i know that you are leaving at that time i know that you know very well that in one month time in few weeks time you're supposed to leave that company with this in mind some people might feel that yeah they cannot they don't want to put in 100 anymore but that is dangerous that is not good do not burn the bridges because someday you might like to come back to that company work very well during this period putting your best as you were doing before work and at the end of the month or pay your salary in full and don't provide all your coc your certificate of insurance continuity your experience later that might be needed in your next company so make sure that you work very well and you get all your documents from the company you get a good feedback from them because your new company might ask for reference so you might give the name of someone in that previous company and if we're not working for the last few days before your last day of work if you just decided to start to stop working or to stop showing any motivation at work it might bring in some last minute negativity that might destroy your chances in your new company so please if you have been working very well from the first day walk up to that period to the last day leave them on a good note do not burn bridges do your work get your documents and leave after saving
