How to eSign a document: online signature legitimacy for Independent Contractor Agreement in United States

hi there Ken bogeman here with SG advantage and in this uh training video we're going to talk about how subcontractors can view and sign their independent contract agreement through our system so let's get started so what you're going to do first is go ahead and head to the website sgadvantage.com you're going to click the login link go ahead and enter your username and password and then click sign in that'll bring you to your dashboard now from here what you do is you come over here to this our agreements section and click our agreements that'll bring up what your uh your agreement statuses are which you'll see over over here in red it says pending because that that indicates that neither of these two Agreements are signed and at this point we're going to go ahead and talk about the independent contract agreement the independent contractor agreement is essentially the terms and conditions of your working relationship with the contractor that you're working for so uh this is uh not necessarily establishing pricing it doesn't actually doesn't have any pricing in there it doesn't have any hourly rates there's nothing in there other than simply the terms and conditions of the working relationship so to view that go on over here to this green download button and if you click that that will download a copy of the independent contractor agreement so what you want to do is go ahead and read through that and pay particular attention to the top right corner here when it prints out it'll be over in this section this is where it's going to have your company's name address and information you need to make sure that the name that is in there matches your Certificate of Insurance and your W9 exactly so if it's uh you know XYZ Contracting LLC on your W9 and Certificate of Insurance you need that exact match right here so once you know that that matches you've read through the agreement everything looks good then what you do is you go ahead and come back to your arguments page here and this little yellow pencil icon if you click on that that brings you to the eSignature window which should go ahead and read through and then just click here to say that you agree to the agreement and that you've read it go ahead and drop your name in there and drop your title in there and click sign agreement and you'll come back to the our agreements page which right over here you'll see this is now green indicating that it is signed and you can at any time come back to this page click this download button and download a full copy of that agreement and it will show your digital signature as well as title and you know the time and date that you signed it and that'll be captured in the system forever if you will and if you um are just curious as to you know gosh when did I sign that you can click this little magnifying glass here and that'll bring up the details of when you did sign it so here's the date and time so that is uh how to sign the independent contractor agreement we'll talk about the schedule A's in the next one but hopefully this was helpful if you have any questions we're always here for you at sgadvantage.com call us 314-474-9977 or you can find us on LinkedIn at linkedin.com company slash SG Dash Advantage thanks so much and see you next time
