[Music] welcome back to my channel and today is a video on do Etsy ads work for new stores uh no they don't thank you very much no I'm only joking I'm only joking do Etsy ads work for new stores the answer is mostly not not always so there's always going to be some of you out there where you're open a brand new store and ads do actually work but for most stores they don't work when you're a new store and there's reasons why they don't work and I never ever get any client of mine or anyone I'm I'm advising to start running Etsy ads uh from the moment they open their store mostly you're going to be setting fire to your money burning it and it's going to be drifting away on the breeze so why do Etsy ads mostly not work for new stores what's the problem here what why don't they work I mean surely they should work right um you're paying for advertising but these are the reasons why um I've got a list here and the first one is I can't read my own writing yes so it's number one no organic sales this is the biggest one this is the biggest reason why your Etsy ads aren't working because your basically forcing your products into people's view onto their screens whether they want to buy them or not so it's basically saying here I am here I am and if you don't have any organic sales then you've got no actual proof that any of your products will sell and of course you don't because you're new so if you don't have any organic proof and then you load all your products or some of your products into Etsy ads probably they won't sell because you don't know what the customers want from you and there's so many issues that pop up in new stores and their listings and the quality of what they do invariably no organic sales no proof of sale no proof of demand means you're not going to make any sales from ads let's dig a little bit deeper here okay so let's go a little bit deeper as into what the problems are so the next one that I see you can't advertise with poor photog photog graphy okay if your photos are poor dull dark washed out cut off products one in stock you're not going to make any money from ads if you want to try to make money from ads you got to get some organic sales first and then you've got to make sure that your photography is at a decent standard right well lit no Shadows no sunlight no cut offs um no one's going to click on your product if it looks bad it's just like anything with retail it's got a look good it's got to look desirable poor photography is just going to Crater the performance of your of your ads let's get on to the next one what else is stopping new stores succeeding with ads yep no listing videos okay if you don't have listing videos you're just missing out on a major con conversion opportunity so if someone actually clicks on your ad then you want to do everything you can to sell the product to them video is one of the easiest ways to help convince a customer a potential customer that your product is the best answer to their question whatever that question may be be the best bet be the best answer to their question as to why they want want to buy your product no listing videos honestly it's 2024 we're almost into 2025 and I would say I deal with 30 40 stores a week in my consultancy I I think about half over half still don't have listing videos I can't get my head around that not in 2024 moving into 2025 there's no reason everybody's got a phone right everybody's got a phone most people can use sites like canva even if you don't have a phone right you have get a camera or something to take pictures and then you can record videos there's no excuse really for this now in this day and so these three things are huge if you don't have these if this is happening in your store you're not going to make any sales with ads number four what have we got oh yes this is a this is a big one too much pod okay so if you're try if you open a pod store on Etsy I you know I'm not saying everybody's like this but so many pod stores are low effort they're just low effort I see them every week in my consultancy 5 10 15 of them just really poor badly thought out print on demand stores and they've just taken the designs from creative Fabric or design bundles and just slapped them on t-shirts and and hoodies it's never going to work you're not going to sell and if you advertise it literally you're throwing your money away definitely definitely don't advertise your print on demand store don't do it wait until you get some organic sales this for pod is so hard it's so hard to get organic sales with print on demand okay get them and then you've moved a huge step towards being able to run ads um with print on demand it's so hard to get organic sales with print on demand don't listen to anybody on YouTube talking about oh list these list that do this it's so difficult you've really really got to consider is it worth your time and investment of time and money resources to go into pod um on Etsy so too much pod number four and number five is yeah this is simple right but people don't want to hear it poor products okay poor products okay the actual product itself is not good enough the amount of jewelry I see from sellers in my consultancy where it's just not good enough is ridiculous so many sellers don't they overvalue the offerings they're putting into their store print on demand people just generic designs that everybody else is doing and they think that if they list more of them or more variations they're going to make money which is what people on YouTube say it's garbage it doesn't work poor products get some confirmation I mean you'll get it you'll get confirmation of your poor products from no organic sales right and then no organic sales means it's definitely not going to work for Etsy ads but ask people are my products any good does this make sense to you would you buy this ask people in forums ask people in the Etsy forums other forums preferably not friends and family because they might be biased so these five reasons are why Etsy ads don't work or mostly don't work for new sellers so get into my comments let me know if you're a new store and have you
