a style that represents you that shows the world who you are as an individual or do you have a closet full of pieces that you purchased so that you have a certain a pair of pants to wear every day if you haven't identified your signature style today's video is going to help you achieve that now let's get started [Music] step number one is just open your closet okay open your closet look at your clothes what do you naturally gravitate to is it a t-shirt do you like brim button-down do you like sweats you like tank tops look at those items all of your upper pieces and see which ones do you normally gravitate to then go look at your pants do you like shorts elide that you were slacks do you like jeans do you like sweatpants would you like linen pants you like wild leg pants whatever is in your closet that you would normally gravitate to as well you take those pieces out and like Krim on the bed put them in wherever you're going we're gonna just go to that later take those pieces out lay those pieces out then you go to your shoes and did you normally wear flip-flops or you are sneakers girl but do you like heels would you like a little heel do you like a high heel what is your go-to outfit once you've done all that just take a look at what you've laid out look at the color palette are you a pastel girl or most of your pieces the light pink light purple light yellow or do you like bold colors or most of your pieces like a bright green a bright blue or black blue a bright purple or do you just have a combination of all of those do you like prints do you like a big flower do you like bold graphic prints you like strikes oh do you like chicken prints just take a look at everything you have and see if there's a pattern of things you probably never took the time to think about this but if you look at it all laid out a pattern will start to reveal itself now once you've done this I want you to gather all the pieces and just go choose a go-to outfit look at all your shirts if you were going out today and you wanted something that represented you but was comfortable just something that represents you or something makes you feel good when you wear it put that outfit and that includes a pair of shoes so what does that look like you sit that to the side next you go and choose a signature warrior peace when you go look at your pictures or when you think about yourself or think about the times you've gone out not just for a dinner date or lunch day just going out other than like the grocery store is there something you'd like to do or like to wear consistently for me it's a pair of shoes in a nice purse I like shoes that are bright or have lots of color lots of print just odd shoes different shoes and it doesn't have a price point I like if I like a shoe I like a shoe II didn't matter whether it's a very expensive shoe or where it's a shoe from Zara I I actually like flip-flops um Old Navy I just have about five or six pair of those anyway but what do you normally wear some women like to wear a headscarf they're known for their head scarves some women are known for their purses some women are known for wearing like a soft pastel palette some women are known for their bold colors what is it that you typically gravitate to is it a statement earring is it a statement bracelet are you to type the lady that loves those to stack her rings or have statement rings or statement necklaces what is if you look at your wardrobe you'll tend to find those pieces so if you go back and look at your pictures you'll be able to see okay I consistently warhead wraps a lot that I like the feeling when I liked it I like to look when I have those head wrap stones they make me comfortable it's something that I gravitate to when I just for a style purposes or just I just want to cover my hair or I just I just like it so for every one of us that's gonna be something completely different and if you can't identify what that is but some of us just don't have that but most women do if you can't identify what that is ask some of your closest friends just look at hey what is it that when you think of me what do you think and as far as fashion is concerned and if they're us with you they'll better tell you what pieces they typically identify you with wearing once you've identified those go to pieces those will be your building blocks so for me it's typically I always have you're most comfortable in the pair jeans a nice pair of shoes the shirts typically don't matter but I could wear a tank top or a beautiful shirt but for me it's always a pair of nice shoes pair of jeans and a couple bright vibrant purse for you you have to identify what that is for yourself so whatever those are they're your basic building blocks for your wardrobe once you've identified those basic building blocks this is where you should dive great the majority of your money when you go shopping for your clothes you want to put a little bit more money in those because you're gonna wear more often and you want them to last longer the quality is gonna be nicer you're gonna feel better in those pieces and that's why those pieces are gonna cost you a little bit more money than just say your average t-shirt or just flip-flops or just a regular shirt you want invest more in those key pieces for that wardrobe another tip and building your signature style is going on social media you can go on Instagram sometimes on Facebook you can go on Pinterest and just scroll through just type in outfit ideas whatever I say if you have a color palette that you like put that in purple shirts or green pants or bright purses they're pretty pretty whatever it is that you like put it in and just kind of scroll through and just save those pictures save them in a folder so that when you go shopping you can have those go-to looks that you can okay I don't have this in my wardrobe this would be nice in my wardrobe and then when you go home you can also look for what you have already and that way you're not purchasing some things you already have because you know we've all gone to the store and purchase the white shirt on and come home and find out we have four or five already or another pair of black shoes and we thought we just might have gotten rid of the old pair but where well we like the shoes they were black when we could have taken that money
