What do you like best?

We are an insurance agency which handles large amounts of eSignatures, it's good to have a clear record of which documents are pending signatures. It's great to have a tool to easily remind clients to eSign.

What do you like best?

I love the fact that I can get documents signed fairly quickly from start to finish. The software allows for conditional signing which is crucial for our business model. Other softwares did not offer that ability.

What do you like best?

I like how easy signnow is to navigate and figure out. Whether you're sending or receiving a document, the setup is very straightforward. I also like how you can add more than one signer on a document at a time, that has actually helped us save a lot of time in that area.

video background

Free estimate maker for Public Relations

[Music] come out with your hands out come out with your hands out do it now the sound on this footage is chilling it's from a dash camera the audio from an officer banging through a door as a home invasion is underway good afternoon the robbery occurred on Christmas Eve of last year police have released Cruiser Camp video of the pursuit and the officers responding to the home now there's word they've broken up a crime ring responsible for home invasions and drug trafficking ctv's John musman is on the story and joins us now live from York Regional Police Headquarters John well Nathan as you just saw a part of that video it is very frightening especially for the homeowners you could hear the uh the voices on that 911 call that was played at a news conference here today at York regional police will roll that video again this is what led to uh what was dubbed operation Skyfall it led to the arrest of 17 people involved in home invasions drug trafficking and even carjackings and police say uh this is an important uh situation at what they're trying to crack down on they also say that some of the people involved here were allegedly out on bail release that's also another concern for police but more importantly they're concerned about about residents having to deal with people smashing through glass doors using Hammers and whatnot to get into homes to steal valuables and including cars so we did speak to detectives today and the deputy chief about this they tell us that home invasions are up 116% in York Region uh so that is very concerning we'll be doing much more on this story tonight on CTV News at 5 and 6 reporting live at York Regional Police Headquarters I'm John musman send it back to you John still to come should there be a cap on the number of rid Shar drivers in Toronto it's a topic that's up for debate at City Hall we'll have the latest well we've had a fair bit of fog this morning this is what the Mist look look look like in the financial district just before Dom we have a time-lapse view here as the Mist makes its way through the towers um and there was fog north of the city as well and look we still have foggy conditions not of a view from those buildings today let's bring in Jessica Smith with a look at the current conditions Jess is his fog going to lift it will eventually as we head to that midpoint of our afternoon but right now we're still under a fog advisory so take care depending on where you are in the city it's a little heavier out towards areas through scarbo and East it's a little thicker it's a little bit better through the downtown Corp but regardless take your time we're holding off from the heavier showers for now but that changes as we head in towards the afternoon now we are still under that fog advisory here in the city and really across a good portion of Southern Ontario right along that North shore of Lake Ontario in Ottawa under a rainfall warning because they're getting the bulk of the rain this morning things shift this afternoon temperature wise we're sitting at 6 here in the city and it is relatively mild things considered but it changes pretty drastically into the day tomorrow coming up I'll have a full look at your long range forecast show you just how cold it's going to get and when the hint of sunshine returns right now it's back over to Michelle and Nathan thank you Jess we're hearing from the family of a woman murdered while visiting a partner at a halfway house on Jon Avenue the 34-year-old mother was shot and killed and her partner is now charged with first-degree murder ctv's Beth Mell has the details a Toronto police officer enters a community residential facility for offenders also known as a halfway house one day after a shooting claimed the life of Alicia Brooks a 34-year-old mother we thought it was a tire pop the gun violence took place around 7 Sunday night in the East End on Jones Avenue near Hunter Street a few block south of Danforth Avenue we looked outside and we saw someone lying on the ground with somebody else sort of running around yelling and so we called 911 um and then we saw the cop cars get here and the ambulance in a statement Brook's mother Veronica tells CTV News Alicia was vibrant full of energy and truly lit up a room with her presence her laugh was contagious a loving mother daughter cousin cousin and niece who was very passionate about her work with the youth and refugees Alicia's mother also says her daughter was visiting the Accused at the facility when she was shot and killed police say the shooting took place inside and Brooks was found outside along with 33-year-old Aaron Shay Shay has been charged with first-degree murder and was in a relationship with Brooks it was it's a surprise to have it happen in this neighborhood we're a really close-knit community so for something like this happened is scary and sad two sources say shay lived in the facility a spokesperson with the correctional service of Canada says Shay is under their jurisdiction they say the building is a place offenders go after they've completed 2third of a federal sentence it's legislated these offenders spend the final third in the community meanwhile Brook's family and Community are grappling with her loss although she left a year ago Brooks was an Outreach worker for 2 years at the Parkdale Queen West Community Health Center the executive director says staff and clients she supported are in shock and still processing this horrific event Beth Mell CTV News now to the US and the big development in a 5-day Manhunt the arrest of Luigi mangon the 26-year-old is the suspect and the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan our rahee Lani has been following the developments and that is a big one Raheem yeah Michelle and Nathan it certainly is today we're learning more about who who Luigi mangioni is he is the grandson of a wealthy self-made real estate developer he has a graduate degree in computer science and was a valedictorian at an all boys private school this is Luigi manion's mugshot after he was booked in a Pennsylvania jail where he now awaits extradition to New York the 26-year-old charged with murder in the shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson last week Mion arrested Monday after a civilian spotting at a McDonald's within several minutes seconds of the first Contact he had asked um the suspect if he had been in New York City recently and that really invoked a physical reaction from the suspect he became visibly nervous uh kind of shaking police say mangion had a ID on him which was used to check into a New York hostel he was also carrying a ghost gun a homemade weapon similar to the murder weapon officials say may have been produced on a 3D printer it was lucky that he had the weapon on him he had the manifesto hopefully we can get a confession but it's more key that we can link the weapon that we recovered from him to the scene of the crime while a potential motive has yet to be confirmed police say mangion had a three-page handwritten Manifesto slamming American health insurance companies for putting profits above care officials say one line in the document reads frankly these parasites simply had it coming bullets left at the crime scene were engraved with the words deny defend depose similar language used when insurance companies deny claims we don't think that there's any specific threats to other people mentioned in that document but it does seem that he has some uh some ill will toward Corporate America mion's Family released a brief statement saying they are shocked and devastated by his arrest offering their prayers to the family of Brian Thompson Thompson headed one of the United States largest medical insurance companies the 50-year-old was walking alone in a Midtown Manhattan hotel for an investor conference police calling the shooting a targeted attack by someone who appeared to wait and come up behind Thompson the suspect here who shot at that CEO and killed that CEO is a coward not a hero and we need to make sure that in this country we get back to having a civil discourse about our differences at this time police believe the gunmen acted alone it's unclear at this time when mangion will be extradited to New York and who may represent him at his arraignment yesterday mangion was asked whether he needed a public defender and he asked if he could answer that at a future date reporting live I'm rahee Lani Michala send it back to you thank you Raheem and ctv's Public Safety analyst Chris Lewis joins us now live Chris what a case it's fascinated people in the US and here in Canada officials in New York yesterday touting good oldfashioned police work what stands out to you with this arrest well actually it is good oldfashioned police work from the time this occurred of course highly publicized police were able to track him through different video feeds and still camera shots they obtained from that right across the city to the hospice and we don't even know where they followed him from there but they certainly became aware he's likely in Pennsylvania the local police in Altuna Pennsylvania ultimately responded to a call found ID recognized him and on and on from there of course retrieving a gun which we still don't know whether or not it was the gun that was used but all of that combined with public tips has really helped police work should go and someone died and that's awful but the result is they've taken this guy off the street before hurt somebody else does it surprise you this was someone with a well-to-do family you know had a higher education and yet it's not family or friends or anybody it was folks in the McDonald's are the ones who tipped off police yeah it's really interesting that way isn't it I mean ultim Ely if in fact he really did have a grievance against the health care industry or the healthcare insurance industry uh he's from a very wealthy family I mean I don't think he'd be fighting for benefits as much as you or I might uh but ultimately if that's the cause he's formed some sort of a mental issue towards these companies and of course then you know a downloading manifestos from people like the unibomber it obviously has some deep issues here but certainly able to put all all the together including a weapon or weapons we don't know yet and and get there ahead of time and target the individual and get away I mean this is a bright guy but there's still definitely mental health issues involved in all this and you speak to that I mean when you say he's a bright guy it's interesting that when he was arrested by police he's got this backpack and all the so-called evidence you know you would think somebody who's smart enough to pull this off why would they have that on their person well some people are really smart they do unbelievable things good and bad but at the same time they sometimes think they're Invincible too and don't think they're going to get caught and so that could be part of it or uh you know manifestos and some of the other issues aside we don't know if it's the same gun so maybe he got rid of that he's got a clean gun but still lots of evidence there to tie him ultimately to New York to that scene hopefully they're digging up more social media is reporting all kinds of stuff the police of course will have to confirm that sort of information gathered themselves for court presentation so fair to say lots more police work to come tons absolutely ctv's a public safety analyst Chris Lewis great to chat with you on this thank you you too always Michelle take care take care Syrian Nationals including the more than 100,000 living in Canada who fled the murderous regime have New Hope many now mulling over a return to their Homeland after Rebel forces took control of Damascus ctv's Sarah Plowman reports many never imagined this could happen a celebration of the fall of Basher Al Assad a regime that imprisoned or killed their loved ones and drove them from home in Syria to Canada we're so happy that we have a country to live in around in peace I'm so happy because uh most of my family were in the jail and they dead for their country at his Restaurant in St John life feels lighter for ammed Al bakur a lot of people don't believe Bashar Assad left it's thank you God he's from Damascus but left more than a decade ago lunch today is served with a side of Hope 99% uh people from Syria are very happy right now and then I hope all the world help us to open all the jail in this area one of alur's relatives is now out of jail but he doesn't know his father who was also thrown in prison is alive and there is the jail very hard since 2015 more than 100,000 syrians resettled in Canada I'm from homes so this is the worst city that Bashar Assad like bombed and killed and destroyed there's talk of moving back not in the moment when thing goes back like to normal and we will always be here and there others dream of stepping on Syria's soil for the first time I've never saw my country before and I would love to see it a lot of uncertainty surrounds the country's future many hope through Assad's exit democracy could enter uh the syrians need an opportunity to live an opportunity to rebuild they hope without fear Sarah Plowman CTV News St John to Israel now where prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken the stand in his long-running trial for alleged corruption netan who has called the allegation simply ridiculous dozens of protesters gathered outside the court in Tel Aviv some are family members of hostages held in Gaza Netanyahu has repeatedly requested to delay his testimony because of the conflicts in the Middle East the trial comes as the prime minister is already facing accusations by critics in Israel of dragging out the war in Gaza he's facing charges of bribery fraud and breach of trust in three separate cases there's another social media jab aimed at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau from us president-elect Donald Trump trump appears to be mocking Trudeau on Truth social Trump referred to the Prime Minister this morning as governor of the great state of Canada it's another apparent reference to his now frequent joke of our country becoming the 51st state the post by Trump follows comments from Trudeau who say Canada will respond to Trump's threat of new tariffs Trudeau liken the threat to when Trump hike tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum 6 years ago meantime a new poll shows 29% of Canadians would prefer to see Canada Implement retaliatory tariffs against Trump's tariff threat 47% say they like to see a negotiated resolution now to North York and a fire at a home in the Bay View and 401 area it's still not clear what sparked the fire on Upper Canada Drive overnight ctv's Mike Walker's on the in this hour with more details Mike well Nathan you can see how extensive the damage is to the house behind me here what's concerning for fire investigators and neighbors is that this is the second time they've responded to a fire at this house in less than two weeks police tape surrounds a home gutted by an early morning fire the second Blaze at this house in a matter of weeks it's a bit disturbing obviously that everything's happening here the home on Upper Canada Drive near Bay in the 401 wasn't occupied when the blaze broke out just before 3 this morning Crews arrived to find uh Flames through the roof and out the uh upper Windows fire Crews responded to this home back on November 29th in that case six people were taken to hospital as a precaution officials haven't yet released the cause when you get two fires so close together you know it's that's why we're doing the thoral investigation the time frame of having the fires neighbors who didn't want to appear on camera tell CTV news they've seen people coming and going from this home at all hours apparently from talk with uh people in the area that there were people going in the home possibly people uh people sleeping in the backyard such forensic investigators with police are also on scene the office of the fire marshal will also be investigating the cause now an investigator with the Fire Marshal's Office just arrived on scene uh moments ago they're expected to be here all afternoon searching for an origin and cause and trying to determine if there is anything suspicious here reporting live I'm Mike Walker back to you at City Hall today the mayor's Inner Circle will decide whether the number of ride Shar drivers should be capped it's a debate that has gotten the city in legal trouble before and counselor is hoping this time the battle will go better ctv's City Hall reporter Natalie Johnson joins us with the latest on the situation Natalie well it is a Deja Vu debate here at City Hall once again Michelle what has been a tumultuous file for this Administration now front and center for round two Uber has Representatives here at the executive committee today looking to make their case to the mayor it was this week last year at City Hall that Uber Was preparing to sue the city over a ride share license cap that Council had imposed suddenly and without notice well last time after we put the cap in there was a lawsuit I didn't want the city of Toronto to waste enormous amount of money to battle it out in court the city backing down then and circling back now after a year of consultation before the mayor's executive today a proposal to cap the number of ride share drivers in Toronto at roughly 880,000 staff reporting that for every 100 vehicles on the road downtown 14 are private transportation company Vehicles four of which are driving empty waiting for or on their way to a fair we are concerned congestion is an issue uh and also there's a large number of vehicles that are that are moving around the city without passengers and so how do we find the right balance and so the data led us uh to what we're proposing today Uber though has fired back accusing the mayor of jeopardizing the cost reliability and safety of ride sharing this is an ideological issue for the mayor right from day one she came into Council and was determined to put a cap on ride share but she's offside with the public she's offside with with torontonians who are looking for Choice convenience and affordability the mayor's executive will today decide whether to support the cap and limit ride sharing on the roads I don't certainly want to get in a fight with Uber because it's Christmas time people want to make sure they can get home from their party but I think we really need to see just what will the traffic bear in downtown in particular Uber has pledged to collaborate with counselors saying it's too soon to say whether another Court battle could be in the cards we don't know uh what Uber would do we'll see the question for Council is whether this file is worth the fight now the May's executive is meeting here inside committee room one as we speak the rer licensing cap issue will come up later this afternoon at that point we will be hearing directly from Uber and other stakeholders this is their last chance to weigh in on this file before Council has the final say next week reporting live at City Hall I'm Natalie Johnson Nathan over to you thank you Natalie the University of Toronto's Jeffrey Hinton has received his Nobel Prize for physics The Man known as The Godfather of AI was honored along with his collor a at a ceremony in stockh today all right we won't keep you waiting this award was bestowed on Hinton this morning by Sweden's King the British Canadian scientist and his colleague from Princeton University they developed some of the underpinnings of machine learning it is a branch of computer science that helps artificial intelligence mimic how humans learn Hinton also created the boltzman machine which learns from examples rather than instructions and he's since spoken about all the dangers of AI including bias and discrimination news and joblessness Hinton will give some of his share of the $1.4 million prize money to an Ontario organization working to boost indigenous access to water and another unnamed charity supporting neurodiverse young adults the latest now on the Canada Post strike and it does not look encouraging the crown Corporation is saying it does not see an end in sight yesterday the union sent over its latest list of proposals which include wage gains and job protections cada post is reviewing the offers but says QP or cup W has in some cases de increased its demands or reverted to previous positions the union insists the corporation has not backed down on what it called numerous roll backs to pensions benefits and salary increases this is Day 26 of the work stoppage the Toronto Public Library says more than 4,000 non-employees may have been affected by last year's Cyber attack an investigation has found card holders donors and unsuccessful job candidates could have had their data compromised that is if they had dealings with the library between 2010 and 2023 the personal data could include contact information physical descriptions and perhaps photo images of some of the individuals Toronto Public Health says this latest update serves as a final notification to those who may have had their data exposed that hack was discovered in October of 2023 bringing online services to a halt until March of this year Jess well it's a mild day once again but another one that is overcast and comes with a Chance of some active weather so you'll want to prepare ingly when it comes to your commute as you head throughout your day we are watching for the fog right now to eventually lift this afternoon and be replaced by showers heavy at times especially into the East End of the GTA but again we are sitting well above normal 7° when we should be at at 2: in that sunset time 4:40 p.m. coming up I'll have a full look at your long range forecast including what we can expect when it comes to a bit of a cool down on the way those details just ahead well think on the positive side today you'll notice it doesn't feel that cold yeah not as chilly but foggy had to use the fog lights this morning visibility an issue but hopefully things are going to clear they will as they head into the afternoon and it depends on where you are in the city you know if you live downtown even looking at Nathan philp Square it's not so bad but the further kind of North and East you go the foggier it is but a lot of that will push off as we head into this afternoon so there is some Hope on the horizon it will get a little bit clearer out there and we are definitely mild once again today but things are set to drop as we head into the middle of the week weather is brought to you by the presler law firm injury lawyers you don't pay unless they win now foggy morning really right across Southern Ontario this is from Whitby early on today it's giving them spooky Vibes but it's looking more like like October than it really does December because a lot of the snow that we had has melted or washed away with all the rain that we've seen as of late and there is more on the way this afternoon so keep that in mind it could be a slow commute home temperature wise though it's really not so bad we're sitting kind of on the positive side but it feels quite damp out there and that's thanks to a North easterly Wind we take a look at your temperature boards and it is one of those days where you want to maybe keep one of those layers handy it is a little bit uh cool out there when you factor in all those temperature changes now as we head in towards the afternoon it is going to be one of those days where we're looking at the winds being a factor temperature- wise we're still sitting well above that seasonal Mark uh again as we head into the afternoon and evening we should be around two degrees we're nowhere near that and that is going to change kind of shift into that second half of our Wednesday our daytime high sitting right around 7 we should be at 2 everybody very mild but soggy as we head throughout the day we lose the fog we get the rain as we head into this evening a lot of it pushes out as we approach midnight but we stay really warm we should be at minus5 we'll sit at 4° and everybody's sitting well above the seasonal Mark Perry Sound bankr should be at minus 11 they'll sit right at the freezing Mark as we head throughout the day today we're not looking at a significant system but we're keeping an eye on one coming up from south of the boarders set to bring those showers late today the bulk of that rain is going to be oshaa and East but we will see kind of just a little bit of it that kind of top end of that system in towards the GTA timing everything up for the rest of our day again late afternoon a lot of it pushes in the bulk of the rain through niagar and areas south and then as we head into the early evening we watch for that wave of showers from about 7 the bulk of it through to about 900 p.m. and then it will settle into eastern Ontario into that second half of our day just cloudy overnight and cloudy to start our Wednesday but as temperatures start to shift and drop into the second half of our day it is going to be a little bit cool out there and we'll see that rain transition over to a rain snow mix or very light flurries off of Lake K and Georg and Bay thanks to a northwesterly wind as we head throughout the end of of the week though we'll see the clouds start to lift a little bit of sunshine makes its way through and it will cool down significantly as we head from our Wednesday into our Thursday again a little soggy as we head throughout the day today that switches into the day tomorrow through your Friday the sunshine returns very briefly but we stay warm as we head into the weekend so if you like a warmer December we've got that for a little while Nathan thank you Jess just ahead a story you'll want to he if you're using Cales a warning about unfair scams [Music] we have some important information if you're a cab user in Toronto the number of scams reported is through the roof more than 800 have been reported so far this year $1.6 million stolen ctv's Pat forign has this consumer alerted and then I was loading all the groceries that I shot Maria pagd of Woodbridge says it was in August when someone came up to her in a parking lot asking for a favor and this lady came from behind my car and she said can you help me pay my taxi this scam involves two scammers one finds a Good Samaritan and says that they've taken a taxi ride but the driver won't accept cash could they pay with their debit card in exchange for cash but once a Good Samaritan hands over the card the driver copies the pin switches the card and goes on a spending spree and then the lady gave me the $10 in exchange of 975 right and I went off Maria says four days later she got a call from her bank saying her account had been overdrawn she was scammed out of $14,000 I was just trying to help her because I thought she needs help they're trying to switch your card so they're giving you a duplicate or one that looks similar to yours and keeping yours so now they've got your card and they've got your PIN number Toronto police get complaints about taxi scams every day there's been an increase in fraud since criminals are able to buy generic taxi signs off websites like Amazon if it's a taxi sign on the top of the of the roof that has you know a charging cable that comes in and snakes through the window and plugs into their cigarette lighter that I can guarantee you 100% of the time will be a taxi please say beware of any cab that doesn't accept cash or have a meter and never hand over your debit card Maria's been waiting for almost four months to get her case resolved she is with the unveiled its list of most trending searches it includes a list of Interest or a lot of interest in soccer and of course of course famous people joining us now is heach Ali A search Trends expert with Google Canada sounds like a fun job heach let's start with the top search of the year what was it so when we look at the top news and events category for uh year and search this year we're seeing three key themes of course this year the big one is the UEFA Euro Cup you know soccer and the theme of sports is not new to our list we see this year over year last year it was the Women's World Cup and this year was all about the year and Copa America but the other big theme is the US elections so you know unsurprisingly this was top of mind for many Canadians especially as we got closer to election night but then the last theme that we're seeing is provincial matters and some of the issues that are closer to home so we saw the BC elections and the JZ per fire and then a lot of Labor disputes this year so of course the LCBO and the Air Canada strikes and then the ongoing Canada Post strikes that are having a lot of Canadians searching for information and asking questions all right that is what about celebrities who are people searching for so you know the number one searched person this year is Kate Middleton which is a bit surprising um mostly because she actually stepped away from the public eye this year um leading to a lot of online speculation about her wearabouts and then uh earlier in the spring she also announced her cancer diagnosis via a video message so Canadians were searching for details and information about her there the other big one we're seeing is the US political heavyweight so we saw names like kamla Joe Biden JD Vance Tim Walls and many of those key players in the US elections what about the Taylor Swifts and Drakes and Beyonce I'm sure they were high on the list in our music category we really had something for everyone we had Usher topping the list this year you know he had that standout performance at the halftime show and then we had Kendrick Lamar who released some of this year's top songs um and then we had a lot of gen Z pop stars so Canadian Tate McCrae we saw Chapel ran we saw Sabrina Carp and then one that you know Gen X and and the Baby Boomers and pretty much anyone else will appreciate was Tracy Chapman who had a Resurgence of popularity this year after uh she performed fast car at the Grammys alongside Luke comes wow so much diversity on this list any natural wonders uh in our questions category we saw a lot of questions about the solar eclipse um so for those who are lucky to catch that Celestial event back on April 8th they'll remember this well Canadians were asking questions like uh what is a solar eclipse you know how to view the solar eclipse um how to make sure that you're doing it safely and uh just lots of questions about the safety safety precautions and viewing times I love the fact that Google shows you what is trending it's very helpful anyway he back Ali with Google candid thank you so much for your time take care thanks for having me no problem it's trip down memory lane also to through right now areas north and east of The City the second round of rain comes for us later on this afternoon but the bulk of that heading kind of Oshawa and East but the GTA in general will see a few like showers temperature wise it's 7 degrees right now 10 through Niagara 8 in Windsor minus two in Ottawa we're all kind of holding on at or well above where we should be now into the day tomorrow mild to start and then the winds will shift we have a northwesterly flow prompting some Lake Effect flurry activity and a significant cool down into our Wednesday evening so be prepared for
