Mondays am i right [Music] [Applause] hey guys welcome back to my channel the reason why I'm talking so quietly right now is because it is approximately 6:30 to in the morning there's the proof for you guys and today I'm gonna be taking you guys with me on a day in my life as a pet sitter those of you who don't know me I don't do YouTube full-time although that is kind of a dream of mine I feel like it would be absolutely amazing about ads of great now I'm only able to do YouTube part-time so I need to do other part-time work as well in order to survive and when I got home from college I decided that I wanted to work part-time doing a job where I could choose my own hours where I was happy doing what I was doing because I've had experiences with many different kinds of jobs and I just know that I don't thrive in an office environment I like to work alone good morning garbage truck as I was saying I like to work alone and I want to love what I do so I ended up choosing to do Pet Sitting I used to do this back in high school as part-time work and now it is pretty much a full-time job for me even though I still technically can choose my hours and it doesn't have to be a full-time yeah anyway I'll tell you guys more about it as the day continues I do have to get started on my first job so I'm going to take you guys with me and also in keeping with the theme of vlogmas I have a reindeer onesie on right now because another beautiful park of having a job like this is you can dress however the heck you want so today we are reindeer and on that note let's get started so I'm just gonna show you something kind of funny because this is basically how I get ready for work but this is my lunch I'll just throw it into my bag I've got my YouTube stuff with me today and this right here is my pocket of keys so this is pretty much just a pocket containing all of my clients different keys either just keychain and yeah basically to start off I'm just gonna head over to my neighbor's house and take care of their cats whenever I'm taking care of someone who's out of town I like to leave the porch light on so that people don't think anyone's gone and here are the cute little kitties this is rocky and this is misty I've lived with them across the street for years now so I know them as though they're my own hi you guys want some breakfast yeah alright let's feed them [Music] so I'm just gonna let them eat and then let them outside time I'm gonna go ahead and check the litter box it doesn't look like very much in here nope so we're good on that so apparently it's supposed to rain today I'm not sure that's actually gonna happen because this guy looks like it's coming up blue I'm not exactly sure what I'm hoping for honestly it would make my life easier if it wouldn't rain just because I have to walk dogs today but also I feel like it'd be really keeping in season to be able to do a Christmas dog walk in the rain so while they eat I thought I would tell you guys a little bit about how I got started basically when I got home from college I decided to contact some of my old clients and they ended up meeting some pet care so I started slow like that and then word of mouth spread and then I tried different sites I try to wag and I try to Rover and those just don't get me started those do not work for me those apps are just so saturated with walkers and caretakers and all of that it was just way too hard to find a job so I ended up trying this site called next door and I believe every area has their own next door comm and basically I made a post that said if anyone needs pet care I'm available and that has has been getting most my clients so if you guys have next door and you're looking for a job like mine definitely try that out so it looks like they're almost done so I'm gonna go ahead and open this up today okay so my next client lives about a 20-minute drive away from me so we gotta get going but basically all that I'm doing for her today is feeding her dogs in the morning and the evening normally I would take them out for a walk as well but I believe she's using her other walker today for a walk mid day and that's totally normal a lot of clients do have extra walkers and extra caretakers just in case one can't make it or they're on vacation or for any reason they do have backups so I believe we're both working today anyway let's gonna move on because I definitely should be there within the next 20 minutes ready to get gathered and globe uLTA Beauty so I normally listen to the radio on my way to my jobs and because it is a December they always have Christmas music playing unfortunately for copyright reasons I can't put the music in the video but maybe maybe if I speed the music up I can leave it in but we'll see if not I'll just have a track playing over the songs but anyway let's get to jamming the sunrise is so pretty [Music] they're not necessarily bonded if she was doing something to protect the kittens but serenity can go off to her forever home but how could you that like that so basically there was this dog in Canada named serenity well she didn't have a name back then but she was a found on the side of a road of protecting five newborn kittens from the Canada winter and now they're all rescued arias we're at my next client's house and she has two Mastiffs and their names are Leila and helo once a girl once a boy and helo is older so he's not as strong not as aggressive but Leyla I believe she's more of a puppy well not like a puppy but younger so she's very strong she tends to want to lunge at anything that moves so after I feed them breakfast I take them out front so that they can go potty and I have to do it one at a time because if they were to both lunge together for some reason I would quite literally become a kite so yeah let's go inside and say hi to them but by the way I would just like to add that I asked all my clients permission before filming this video that I could show their pets and give the names their pets and little parts of their houses obviously I'm not gonna be showing their whole house or anything that's not the point of this video I want to respect their privacy obviously and the whole point is just showing you guys what I do in a day of pet setting so anyway let's go inside so this right here is kilo and this right here is a Layla so yeah I'm just gonna go ahead and feed them breakfast now and Layla get some pills because she injured herself a while ago and these do surgery don't you good shoes so I'm gonna get her pills all prepped and their breakfasts ready excited so if got a little bit left over the I put her pills and I'm just gonna give us the general meeting this girl how you doing over there big boy so now I'm just gonna refresh their water boys because they're pretty much empty want some water no you just want some dip you are a trippin you mess with your house all right so now I've got his leash on or their leash so I may not feel him taking Layla out just because she's so strong and I might need two hands for that but I will show you what I do with them with kilo [Music] thank you just the cutest boy also this type of collar that is on the leash is called a choke and it is only meant for if they're charging it will tighten in order to stop them it doesn't actually hurt them just by wearing it like this so don't worry about that it does look a little bit uncomfortable but trust me they're fine also would you guys just look at this view working for some clients takes you to places where you get to see San Francisco in the morning like this and it's just so pretty let's see if we can go see the Golden Gate look how pretty that is guys oh she is a Duggar they let go potty go potty bruh her favorite thing to do in the morning is just sniffing everywhere I guess over night lots of sense appear so that is her favorite morning time activity oh girl look at you going potty hey pretty flower isn't it but not for eating not feeding one gotta go poopoo I'll spare you guys most of the poop image let's go back inside those ears [Music] all right so now we're in the backyard just out here to play a little bit both going potty I know you're doing you know you're doing digitally where's your brother hi hallo hey where's your sister huh well you're at the Toby okay what happened to sharing is caring huh I'm kidding you can have the toy right go ahead let's go back inside yeah someone's rebelling come on not your toy alright we'll see you guys this evening okay alright so it is now seven thirty nine in the morning and I'm gonna go home and eat breakfast and grab anything that I need to for the rest of the day and then we will continue [Music] all right so I'm home now and I'm just gonna pop inside grab something to eat grab my computer maybe edit a little bit watch some YouTube and then we'll be on our way and my next job starts at 11:30 and it's currently at 7:58 and yeah that's pretty much all I'm gonna be doing I don't drink any coffee or anything so I don't need a pick-me-up or some reason it's really easy for me to go to bed kind of late and wake up pretty early just on my own with no help and that actually does come in handy for a job like this because sometimes you need to get up at the time that I did which is 5:30 this morning to get ready and go take care of animals at 6:00 or 7:00 but then again you do get breaks in between so right now I have about a three three and a half hour break before I have to head back out on the road so anyway let's go inside and get started [Music] you guys while I was eating I got it delivery so this is most likely at the holiday and New Year's clothing that I ordered in order to do a haul for you guys oh my gosh I can already see some of it sparkling yes it is oh I'm so excited also it's almost time for me to go and look what I noticed the sky is gray now so it just might actually rain today so in addition to all the normal things I bring for my job I'm also gonna be bringing some rain boots and an umbrella my normal things usually include my phone charger a computer charger some lunch for myself so today I've got some basmati rice and some tikka vegetables I'm just gonna cook that up at my next client's house and I'm also gonna grab my phone and my computer and we'll be on our way I'm gonna layer my socks today too because getting a little chilly also how cute are these little fuzzy puppies box guys you know what they say dress for the job you want in this case I'm dressing for the job that I love honestly if it's a no look I don't know what it is guys okay so the next clients that we are off to go see are a couple of wind sprites and they are regulars of mine which means that I see them every weekday for two hours a day and my job is basically just to give them attention some exercise all that good stuff so yeah we're off to see a Kobe and Yoshi and we [Music] gotta go peepee go peepee Yosh Yoshi go peepee good boy boy Kobe are you thirsty oh no no it's no drink out of their car it's custom why Oh so normally to start off I do a little bit of training with them just to keep them in the swing of things so I'm gonna go ahead and grab their treats and be right back all right Coby usually goes up there than usually sits down [Music] shake shake you see shake shake [Music] all right so now I think I'm gonna take him on a walk just in case it does rain I want to get that part over with so that's doing so just by doing this every day I've actually got Kobe kind of like trained to react to a certain sentence and I want to see if he'll do it for you guys right now Kobe do you want to go for a walk yeah you never used to react like that used to sit there and stare at me but now he knows what it means and I think it's so cute Yoshi just because he's young and I don't want him getting away he used to not be as great so I'm very happy with that are you being a patient human being Oh so some fun little facts for you guys I've actually been taking care of these dogs for quite a few months now I've taken care of Yoshi since he was a puppy I'll insert a picture of him when she first got him because he looks so different now he's such a teenage boy but yeah something I'm so happy I got to be a part of is I was actually Yoshi's first walk who was it my boy I have a picture even of when he started losing his baby teeth and his little teenage teeth came in and they're so cute so here it is it has Kobe you like your any way so I usually take them for about a 20 minute walk around the neighborhood and then we go back and hang out at their place oh and there he goes peeing on his own leg Kobe hey show them what you do everyday he will literally just aim right at his leg oh ho and Yoshi isn't your brother stealing all we have our first that all poopy I love this little pooping face also a dog walkers be responsible pick up after your dogs the general public will appreciate it okay guys I'm gonna cross Yoshi it's a busy street so stay next to me okay cook your weight right so we are back and now I think I'm gonna make myself some lunch there's some construction being done on her house right now so if you guys hear banging that's why but right now I'm just gonna make myself my lunch just jump it was right in there mix it together and I've got my lunch so I'm a little bit weird I don't like to eat out of bowls and plates I just kind of eat out of a pot don't know how that started but yeah I'm gonna eat my lunch and then go hang out with them outside currently they're just kind of sitting here watching me where's Scooby there's going yeah so I'm gonna eat and then go hang out with them outside and this is also something that tends to happen while I'm eating you wanna play so after I eat I usually perch myself onto their dog bed and got Kobe over here wanting to cuddle Yoshi wanting to play and then I've also got one of my favorite Christmas movies up called the holiday so I'll usually sit here entertain myself a little bit and play with the dogs let's see if we can go get him to fetch oh my gosh you're the toy goobie put the toys oh yeah you have a big toys Yoshi Kobe had it first here you go Cody here you go good boys aren't you guys just the sweetest Oh Yoshi I guess Kobe's okay with it home the COO came to cuddle and you're still full of energy aren't you what are you going oh my cuddle bug left [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] they used to fight like this a lot when Yoshi was younger because he was such a fighter and Kobe couldn't stand it it's kind of cute seeing them do it again Kobe come on what's bothering you you want to play some more sit sit oh good boy look at that face Coby look at that face okay well I gotta go now come on Yash are you guys ready to go back in your crates oh he is right guys you can see that getting them in their crates is definitely not hard to do what they love being in there it's like a little safe zone and then I just give them both a treat and then that will lock him in for the rest of the day until she gets back home yeah kill you SHhhh good boy okay so it's 1:30 now and I'm headed off to my next client and that is a pit mix named Alice she is just the absolute cutest and I've actually combined her walk with another puppy named stitch Alice isn't a puppy by the way I believe she's about nine years old yeah so I'm gonna go ahead and pick her up and then pick stitch up and then we're gonna go to this really big dog park here in the area and we're gonna hang out there for about an hour also in this video I did want to tell you guys about my rates just because when I was starting out I wasn't always a hundred percent sure of what to charge clients and so normally if I'm walking a dog an hour-long walk will be approximately twenty dollars a thirty minute walk is 15 if I'm doing an overnight job like sometimes I spend the night at the Mastiffs house for example and I'll charge approximately between a thirty five to forty dollars depending on how far away a client is and how many duties there are or how many needs their dog has with my neighbors though like the ones that live across the street from me and stuff like that'll usually do about five dollars a visit so ten dollars a day if they want morning and evening and then with the day sitting it really depends on how many hours I'm spending with the dog so if it's like an all-day sort of thing seven hours or so I'll charge maybe fifteen an hour like minimum wage but if it's for a shorter amount of time I'll do about $20 an hour so yeah it really does vary and it depends on how far away the client lives how many animals they have but what kind of needs the animals have all that kind of stuff so I'm not going to tell you guys how much each client is paying me individually but I will tell you at the end of the day how much I've made so stay tuned for that and right on cue here is the rain apparently Alice hates the rain her owner was just texting me saying that she'll leave a raincoat out for her which I'm so excited to see you can just picture her now in her little raincoat trotting along also an interesting little fact about her because you guys will notice that I'm keeping her on leash for this walk so yes Alice is a pit mix but she's never shown any signs of aggression before but once I combined her walks with stitches walks the little puppy that you guys will meet soon she started showing signs of aggression towards other dogs I got too close to him or just around our personal bubble even if they came up to me she tried to ward them off and I got to the point where she was doing it to pretty much any dog that would come within 5 feet of us so I talked it over with her owner and it took us probably about a week to figure out or at least we assume that this is the reason but we think that she's drawing on her motherly instincts she never had a litter of her own but we think that she's trying to protect the puppy so that's why she's been all of a sudden showing signs of aggression she is nine years old she's had a wonderful life so far has never been aggressive in any way before so we really do think that that is it so at the moment I'm keeping her on leash and if she behaves better in the future she can go back off leash it's just a momentary thing and I didn't want you guys wondering why she will be on leash and the puppy won't be but yeah we're almost at her place so we'll catch up with you guys there also oh my gosh look at this frame it's really starting apparently it's gonna start pouring within the hour so let's see what happens okay we're here you excited for a walk you wanna grab your leash all right you ready go are you ready you're so cute so we've got her little raincoat and her towel she loves to be in the backseat so she'll just sit there until we get two stitches and then he usually sits right up here with me the funniest thing happens by the way once she gets in the car all of a sudden she'll just have this really depressed to look on her face which is so funny because she's not upset at all her owners said that if she's upset in a car the way to tell is that she'll be pacing back and forth and she never does that so that's good but just look at this little face Alice you look so sad let's see if we get the tail Waggin hi Mimi you're a happy girl right so we're at stitches place now and I've cracked her a window so she's gonna wait here for a second while I run in and grab him you're just the cutest yeah you are someone wants to play [Music] I'll cut a finish come here are you guys happy to see each other yeah so I'm gonna try to keep the camera on them as well so you guys could just see the cute little ride together do you want to look out the window let me just grab your leash sharp turn come on baby oh there you go give me this the windows turn off the car he's always a way to eating it out of here all right we're leaving we're leaving give the people what they want so it isn't raining now kind of gently doing a good job yeah oh you're so cute here she goes it just went to there's some instinct so since there are no other dogs really here I'm just gonna take a let's often finish because you're a good girl run be free girl [Music] [Music] my god little prince oh look it's a free oh you guys are too cute oh good girl Alice good girl maybe they'll be able to stay off leash go on be good oh my gosh you didn't even react the girl beyond efficient Alice are regulars of mine as well so besides my regulars I have tons other clients as well probably about 30 oh my gosh she's being so good it is I'm honestly so surprised that she didn't react whatsoever to any dogs that came up to us maybe I had something to do with the fact that there's only like two other dogs in the park which doesn't feel as on alert all right anyway like I was saying I have other clients as well what's nice about this job is that I have so my schedule is never exactly the same it's nice to have some regular income but also have a little change of pace whenever there's a new job to do and honestly that's another reason why I love this job so much just because I've done the nine-to-five I've done sitting at desks I've done working in warehouses I've done it all I just can't do it anymore I want to be able to be my own boss be able to choose my schedule and have some stability but also have a change now and then just to keep it interesting so yeah that's why this job is honestly something that I love to do plus I mean I get to hang out with dogs all day right like who wouldn't love that alright so we've been here for about an hour now it has started to rain again the dogs have switched seats for some reason I guess whether it's like changing you guys Oh too much okay someone bring him back home now and then I'm gonna go back home myself and then I believe I have what time is it like 3:00 o'clock 3:30 3 o'clock so I have about 4 hours to myself before I have to go back and feed the Mastiff and then feed the cats next door and yeah that'll have been a full day of my pet sitting job ok babies let's head out and here she goes looking all depressed again oh you wanna play you wanna play you hey you little foolish man okay so now we're gonna drop stitch off he knows it's coming Mondays am i right are you ready to go back in your crate yeah oh you can't wait huh you can't wait you know what treat is coming oh good boy another day another dollar alright Alice let's get you home who wants to bet me a billion dollars that Alice is picturing herself in a music video right now [Music] someone's getting sleepy oh you can curl up in your bed I'm headed to the 99-cent store to make a return I bought this on a whim the other day and it was actually 399 I don't know if you guys can see that but yeah I'm not really about to spend $4 almost when I don't need it right now so he'll return that the life of a college graduate making returns the dollar store I just got to the dollar store and it's raining like crazy and this thing is actually kind of pretty I mean it's Christmastime and it's a candle holder and it's literally only four dollars well 399 so I think I'll just keep it so I guess also my camera just died so I'm using my phone right now I will charge the battery so that will be all ready for tonight anyway guys I just got back and I realized that she must be wanting to get inside you're soaking I'm sorry baby unfortunately they don't have a cap door so they can't come in now on their own the brother though tends to go into other neighbors houses so I'm pretty sure he is warm and dry all right so it's raining really hard and I'm carrying rocky back oh my gosh okay you're doing oh oh yeah okay now there's a look okay so now I'm gonna go feed at the two cats and then I head back up to the Mastiff and then my day is done so now that both cats are fed at 6:30 p.m. so I'm gonna head up to the Mastiff it's so dark and rainy out right now I'm kind of here for it though because now this means I can blast at the Christmas music and it'll actually feel like Christmas we don't get too much snow here in California so rain is pretty much our snow it's beginning to look a lot like be merry and may all your Christmases anyway alright let's go that truck almost ran our red and well you know not a red a stop sign it's just dangerous weather folks oh my god okay who else thinks they look their best in red light my god quickly sorry I've been barely hear me I just turned my heater honest about the toasty pond I just made a left turn and with all the rain all the far lights I literally couldn't see my plane I didn't know where I was writing I was really turned on to the barrier here please my lady again and heaven bears a say but I have actually wait a oh that's so embarrassing here oh my god different song oh please okay why is it about rainy weather that makes people run red lights I think that's just not the time folks or maybe they just can't see like the lines on the road and think that they made it through or me going I don't know what it is ah okay you're backing up sir I'm sorry that is a terrible parallel parking job oh I'd be so embarrassed if I was that it's getting a little chilly up in here oh yeah give me my life back come on there it is I can get it again well I could just bask in red light all day all alright bye bye is my angler looking okay while we're entering almost sea of insane you guys hear this right now California is in a drought and even this is not getting us out of it Oh oh you guys better not get wet it got in my onesie it's on my it's on my butt oh man are you scared of the weather well that's funny because she's so strong so ferocious but she gets scared over the tiniest things well I guess the garbage truck isn't tiny but hi hallo hi there's one dinner guys the water is migrating further down my ass as we speak [Music] whale it goin go she was gonna umbrella for a second she's scared of the umbrella oh he's such a cutie you are to Hilo yes you are all right let's see if we can do beautiful pie oh my god no no little explanation there I took HeLa out and he ran right back inside you guys saw that so I told their owner that they don't want to go out just said that's totally fine she'll try to take them out before she heads out to work because remember she's working a night shift so yeah that wraps up my day now you guys just get the pleasure of driving home with me and I'll say goodbye we get home choos the music oh my god you guys do you see the roads right now which way are you coming not my way please look at these cars going through the puddles that's a good one Wow this is more right than we've gotten like 10 years oh there's my lighting again [Music] because I work with dogs all day doesn't mean I don't want to look nice you know oh please tell me you saw that please tell me you saw the water I just kicked it up excuse me sir this isn't a race you're not trying to hydroplane are you does this have lyrics [Music] Paloma now it's so much water dang a there's a puddle but I'm not making a right turn whoo guys look Christmas lights oh oh it is so on I'm gonna pass out there's such a big puddle on the curb but I can't drive up onto the sidewalk oh oh I'm gonna face you towards the window oh my god when I was younger my dad would do that all the time for me because it just drove me wild I don't know why it just feels like you're jet skiing you know you know I've never jets for God I'm a sound so annoying right now I'm sorry I get weird when it gets to be nighttime radio shall we okay but where's my Christmas music at though he's so cute 96.5 Katie we're almost home good no no one wants plastic alright now the camera keeps hitting the classical button I normally don't mind classical music at all I actually prefer in the morning sometimes but not during the holidays you know well that was a nice little oh okay guys I've made it home I'm gonna bust out my phone night for this outro oh my god please be flattering this looks like a horror film like that was any better okay I'm just gonna stick with this anyway that is pretty much a day in my life as a pet sitter thank you guys so much for coming along with me today I hope you enjoyed this video I've never done anything like it before so I hope I did okay if you have any questions about what it's like to be a pet sitter dog walker I mean I'm I'm not just a dog walker I take care of a lot of different animals I do like cats chickens I've done snakes before hedgehogs goats parrots not goats parrots I do a lot of stuff and what really helps me is the fact that I kind of grew up working on a farm and after that I worked at a zoo so I'm very familiar with animals it's definitely not a job I want forever but you know you never know obviously I mean if YouTube works out that would be incredible I feel like I went into college not knowing what I wanted to do at all I thought I wanted to do marine bio and then I realized that that was just way too much bio and the only reason why I wanted to do it in the first place was to swim with dolphins I didn't quite realize back then that most your time is spent in a lab so then I switched to not knowing what I wanted to do and then I doz back into my childhood I wanted to remember what my hobbies were back then and what made me truly happy and two of my favorite favorite things to do back then was design clothing and make home movies I was constantly constantly constantly drawing different outfits whenever a celebrity was on the red carpet I was like oh my god I can design that dress way better watch and then I would just draw it out of his paper and whenever my family and I traveled I would always make like a mini documentary about the place that we went to so yeah I landed on film as a major and I didn't even consider anything like YouTube to be something that I would want to do until maybe halfway through my senior year and the way that that ended up happening was that a few people separately told me that I have a youtube personality that I would be good at it and that was my dad my best friend Gabby and I believe my boyfriend Chris kind of forgot that the third person was I remember there were three and none of them knew that each other had said that to me because of that I was like huh people actually genuinely think this maybe I should give it a try so I did give it a try and I loved it so much I am beyond excited that we have hit over a thousand subscribers I know that someday that might sound like so little and to some people out there right now it sounds like so little but when you think about it that's a lot of people I'm at what almost 1.5 K right now that's a lot of people if you were to just put them all in front of you like that anyway I appreciate you all so much this is a newer dream of mine but it really is a dream of mine I think I can do it and I want to do it well so if you enjoyed this video make sure to give it a
