in today's video we are i'm going to be showing you how to transfer credit from one customer to another customer right so i'm in quickbooks online and this is the customer that i'm going to be transferring the credit from for this particular situation this customer's invoice was six hundred and twenty nine dollars and ten cents but for but for some reason they paid eight hundred dollars so it could have been that they thought they told their secretary to pay the money to this account and then put the money on another account i don't know what the mix up was but they paid us 800 so therefore we have a credit of 170 and 90 cents now we are going to transfer this credit and the way we're going to do that um we're going to transfer this credit to another customer so we're going to put this hundred and seventy dollars and 90 cents on someone else's account right because either that they do business with you personally or they and they do business with you through their business so they do business to business and personal as well so we are going to create a journal entry to be able to record this we're going to go to new and then we're going to go over here to journal entry for the journal entry we're going to give it a name so i'm going to name this credit credit transfer and the accounts we're going to be using is accounts receivables both of these we're going to debit an account receivable account for one customer and we're going to credit an account receivable account for the other customer because they are both accounts receivables accounts but we are we have to balance it out so what we're going to do is click accounts receivables and the amount that we are transfer transfers 179 90 and that was credit transfer [Music] from to another customer you can in the description you don't have to write what i'm writing i'm just writing something quick because of the video but you would put whatever it is is going on so that when you come back let's say another year later you can't remember watch what actually happened because you have the description there now i'm going to sell that because we are debiting the gita and we are going to be crediting accounts receivables and it's going to populate the same description all right we are going to be crediting oh let's try diego or brigades i'm doing this on the fly type of thing right now and we're going to save and close it's 170 and i have 179 okay now we save and close so now you see that his account has canceled though and if you want to check that let's go new transaction receive payment and we are going to put beta and you will see that that has canceled out that so that's why it's like that this and it brings it back to zero save so save and close all right and we transfer the credit to diego rodriguez diego has 170 dollars and 90 cents in credit in his account and this will stay there until he has another invoice that's it for this video and i hope you guys enjoyed it and i hope you got value from it and you got through with what you were trying to do thank you guys for watching and do subscribe to the channel and give this video a thumbs up because it really helps and especially if it helped you bye
