do you want to learn how you can keep your images and files secure and locked down inside your s3 bucket but still give short-term access to very specific people in this video that is exactly what i'm going to show you how to do [Music] [Music] hi guys my name is sam with complete coding where our aim is to make you into the best developer that you can be in this video we're going to be looking at how we can lock down our s3 buckets so that our files and images are more secure and are private and read only and when we've done this we might still want to give access short term to very specific users to do this we're going to use a signed url to generate that access a signed url is very similar to a normal image url inside an s3 bucket but there are some parameters on the end which allow access for a short period of time to those images and files so we're going to jump into the code right now and see how we can set this up before we jump into the video i just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has liked subscribed and commented on any of my videos as we've just reached a massive milestone we've just hit 2 000 subscribers it's been a lot of work but it's really great to see that my videos are helping you guys i've had loads of comments from people saying that one of the videos has helped them solve a problem they were really fighting with through to one guy who said he'd watched through all of my series and actually got a promotion because of it it's amazing to see how these videos can really help you guys out and for the next goal i want to hit 5 000 subscribers so if you haven't done already please subscribe down in the bottom corner and help me reach this next goal to help more of you guys become really top-notch developers now that we're in the code the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to change our bucket so there is a private bucket and remove the public access properties from the images when we upload them so in our serverless yaml file if we scroll down to our bucket which is right at the bottom in resources we'll find our image upload bucket in here we need to take the access control and remove that just like that to get rid of the public read we can now save that file and now we need to remove it explicitly from when we upload the files as well if we go across into imageupload.js in here we can scroll down until we find the s3 put object this is what we did in the last video and if you want to learn about how to upload images...
