So, hello and welcome. My name is  Lori Conlan. I run a lot of different things at the OITE, the Postdoc Office, the  Career Service Office, all kinds of things, and today we're going to talk about jobs with  the federal government, specifically the United States federal government. I imagine these jobs are  pretty similar for governments around the world, but we're really today only going to talk  about the United States federal government. I do have to point out  something that I need to tell you, that many of the jobs with the federal government  are only for US citizens, and so many of the jobs I will talk about are only for citizens.  There are some ways that you can get a job if you are not a citizen. We'll talk about a couple  of those that exist, but for the most part, most of the jobs I'll talk about require citizenship.  In fact, permanent residency isn't even enough.
