There is a two -step process. Step 1: The court will dec ide if Petitioner has met the requirements to have the case go forward to a hearing. If you choose to respond at Step 1 , your Response must be served on Petitioner within 20 days of the date you were served this Summons (60 days if you were served outside of Washington State or by publication, 90 days if you were served by mail ).
