all right so this year we rolled out a new website for our state FFA Association we got a lot of feedback on our website in the past and it wasn't very user friendly stuff was buried it was hard to find and not only is what we rolled out hopefully we think it's more user friendly for our teachers and our students but also we found that our sponsors and our potential sponsors see a lot more benefit out of it we can now proudly showcase what FFA and a guitar in the state it's easier for them to navigate they can learn more about what if they and a guitar in the state so today we wanted to quickly go through with everyone and show you some of the highlights of the website give you some tips and pointers on how to use it and show you where a lot of the content that you look for every year that you call the office for we've purposefully tried our very best to put it on the site where it's easy to access so if you look on the screen Eric you can see what I've got pulled up right now yep I can see full page okay so here's our homepage a couple of things to note when you first start anytime you want to come back to the homepage click on the Louisiana FFA icon here in the top left corner that'll always bring you back home the homepage itself has stuff that you're going to be looking for so along the top banner for people who are interested in donating to the foundation if you're interested in donating if you click on the donate Now button currently it takes you to the foundation page we're trying to get it fixed where it'll take people directly to the PayPal site where they can donate directly but it will take you to the foundation page if you click on it now when you scroll down and click on donate this will bring you to the PayPal site where you can donate straight to the foundation if we go back to the homepage we've got our social media links running across the top we've been very active on social media for the past year if anyone wants to keep up with what we do the staff and I post regularly on Facebook dr. Smith post on Twitter quite a bit the undergrads are posting on the other three platforms these webinars also get posted on YouTube once they're recorded and we'll show you another place here on the website where you can find these webinars after the fact so if we scroll down a little bit you see this rotating banner here in the middle that's called the rotator it rotates every few seconds if you click on the arrows you can rotate it faster as you move through we can put up to four items on this rotator we're gonna put the four highlights that we're hitting in that particular time so if you look at the first one this is the forestry training that dr. Smith did at la ta we've got our sponsors that have earned their spot on the homepage do their lovable sponsorship we've got a scholarship that USA rice has out for this this month and then we have the bash on the Bayou that's coming up in September the cool thing about this rotator is that if you click on them it actually takes you somewhere so if you click on the YouTube that dr. Smith did at El ITA it will pull up that video from Twila if we go back to the home page if you click on our sponsor page it takes you to the foundation page if you're wanting to go to the LSU football game if you click on this link it takes you to the College of Ag link where you can purchase your tickets so things that are extremely important at the moment like the football link like the scholarship we're gonna put those on the rotator to make sure that you get access to it we scroll down a little bit more top news that's available for the state if we have students or teachers who've won awards when we rolled out affiliation a couple of weeks ago we'll put those on the top news site here on the left a lot of people have always asked where's the calendar on the homepage it will show five days if you actually click on the calendar length it takes you to the full count the calendar is completely updated for as far as dr. Smith and I know going until next summer if you pull up the calendar it pulls the link if you click on the links it will show you if it's a link that you can open so if you need to pay your chapter fees if you go to the calendar click on chapter 3 form click on description it takes you to the forum site page to pay your fees any registration link that we will have opening you'll be able to find on the calendar will take you to a link even something like this webinar today if you click on it if you were to click on that link it will take you into the economy for the webinar and so if you click through the calendar you'll see that we've got it updated for as many dates as we can possibly think of that we have set in stone as of right now it's already ready for you to go a lot of these CDE registrations are gonna be opening soon we're gonna get you CDE registrations at minimum a month before the registration deadline so a lot of your forestry the forestry is open now but as we move on through the year we'll make sure we give you plenty of time to access those forms as you start to register simply go back to the home page we look on the right these are some quick links that you may need fast access to the teacher directory is always the most popular one we've been updating it every every time we get a teacher say hey my information is incorrect or someone's moved we update it so this was updated as of this morning we found a few more corrections we need to make in it today so tomorrow it'll be updated again we have the directory in a couple of different locations we have it on the home page because I know that a lot of teachers look for it a lot there you go so there's our current directory as of as of today we also have the bottom of the very last year you had to know which school a teacher was located out if you're trying to find them and if you didn't know what school the teacher was at that was kind of hard to find so this year we pulled the information off of this fa not org that you you fill out every year with your teacher profile and it generates all of our teacher information so if you scroll to the bottom of the directory we now have an alphabetized list by chapter and if you scroll down a little bit farther we have an alphabetized list by teacher last name so hopefully that'll make it easier if you search for someone in particular you don't know what school they're at go to the Box factory and it's all alphabetized it as you look through this directory if you find information that's wrong please go to the directory change form on the l88 page of the website and send us a correction we want to make sure we have accurate information for you again a few other links mostly to the AG schools do e if you're needing jump start information we put that on the Quick Links if you scroll down to the bottom of the homepage if you want to request a state officer for a visit you want Brooklyn to go visit your school you click on her picture it gives you her bio and if you look on the right that will take you to the state officer in the area officer request for we go back to the home page and you can do that for each of the ten officers you scroll all the way down to the bottom this website allows us to put a photo gallery so if you have students who participated in an FFA event and we upload those events to the photo gallery if you have parents who want to download those pictures of their students this photo gallery will provide you with high quality download that anyone can download off the site for your Yousef if you have a student who is at Crowley high school so our goodwill tour stop you can pull up the picture go down to the corner click download original and it'll give you an option to save this picture to your computer for your use we also put pictures on social media this gives us an easier way just to collect them all in one spot for people who may not use social media they can use the website to access that information then finally all the way down at the bottom you see this one click here to subscribe we do have an ability with this site to send out e-mail updates to subscribers of the website so if you want if we're going to announce that there's a scholarship that's opening or if there's a deadline that's coming up next week and you may have parents and students who are on the AG teacher listserv we can start sending out those reminders using this subscribe insights have you put your name who you are and your email address hopefully here shortly we'll start sending out those updates also so that's a lot of information and that's that's just a homepage we haven't even knocked into the into the tabs yet so the way that we broke the site down is we took our biggest stakeholders in agate in the state and we gave each of them a tab on the website so the first tab is Association this is for the FFA part of agate anything that a student can participate in in the program is going to be found on the association tab as you scroll through you'll notice that a lot of these have clickable links you'll notice that on most of the pages we'll have these these sections on the right-hand side of the page some of them will have information we'll look at that in just a second so when you go through the Association tab the first one is about us if you click on it it'll bring up history of FFA for people who are unfamiliar with the program that gives them a little bit of background about what FFA in the state is anytime you see one of these sections that's underlined it means that if you click on it it'll bring you somewhere so if you click on an executive committee it'll bring up who's on the board this year and if you look on the right side here's an example of one of those right hand boxes that has information these are the minutes of the last executive committee meeting if you click on it you'll have access to that so if we go back to the association tab if you have questions about membership about affiliation about how to put in your effing roster your profile where to access the chapter fee form it's all on this membership tab this covers guidelines for membership in Louisiana it talks about the affiliation program that we just rolled out and all again all of these links on the right hand side if you click on them it'll take you to what you need so if you have profile questions this takes you right to the National FFA site so you can actually access your profile your roster on our website without having to go dig through National FFA National FFA is rolling out a new web next week if you were not aware of that this is what it's going to look like from my experience looking at it playing with it so far it seems like it's going to be much more user friendly than last one was the biggest advantage is that you no longer have to login to access information other than your profile on your roster so all the CDE information that used to be locked out that you couldn't access you can get to all of that now without logging in so I think that was that's gonna be a huge upgrade on on their website but again you can access all those from our site we saw the chapter fee form earlier here it is again if you pay your fees you can access it from the membership tab if you have questions about affiliation we have the agreement that you would have to fill out the National fee chart and then some national affiliation info also so if we go back to the Association tab again anything that deals with state area officers and nominating committees on the student leadership tab you click on the state officer tab for example there's a picture of the team their blog is located here on the right hand side if you have a student who's interested in running for state office the officer application is already open you can start working on it it's not due till April but if you want to get a jump start there it is if you go down to the bottom these are the forms that state officers have to turn in when they run if you click on any of their pictures you see their bio again and there's the request form for the state officers again we have a similar page for area officers same thing there's the area officer request form all of these will link directly to their email addresses there's the application for area officers which is also open and there is their required forms that they have to fill out if they run and then we have similar links for our other leadership stuff so here's the nominating committee link if you want to apply beyond nominating committee at state convention you would go there here's information for our delegate process if you have an issue that you want to submit for state convention next year the proposal form is already open it's here on this site and then we have a summary of all the action that was taken at state convention so each convention committee the business session of state convention an action that the executive board has already taken so we're using this website to also be extremely transparent any decision that's made that affects the state association you'll be able to find it here on this website we've typically pretty good with our staff we post things fairly quickly within a few days information is up on the site if you have past state officers if you're interested in FFA history we have a page for them you can find officers by year by your chapter and then they can be directed to their pass the option face book page if we go back to the Association tab again we have information all of our Ward applications most of these will link to the National FFA site because that's where those applications are found but if you want to again get around the National FFA side if you have a hard time navigating them our links will take you directly to those applications when it comes time for applications in the spring probably the most popular link that we're going to be using here shortly and through most the year will be the CDE LTE link we have all of our CDEs and LDS broken down alphabetically each of these is clickable on the right-hand side if you're looking for the general rules in the revision form you can find it here on the road we're gonna have registrations for spring CDs and for lves here on the right side so for events that have multiple CDE /l bees going on at the same time we'll have all those registrations will be on the right if it's a state only event you'll have to click on the event to access that registration so for example when it comes time for agronomy if you click on the agronomy link you'll see the registration here you give the overview this is what every CD page will look like so we'll have the sponsor if you click on this link it will take you to the sponsors website we'll have results from the previous year or from the current year the first document will all be the rules we'll do score cards and then any other preparation material will be there and then the last sections will always be the exams if there are any free to practice for the test Bank and you'll find the same format for each CD ear lb e so if we go to carpentry same thing overview registration results documents go to one more let's go forestry since that one's coming up if you click on forestry there's the results from last year there's the overview here's the registrations for all of the forest treatments that are coming up each area starting this year if we have area events each area will have its own registration page that will close on its own deadline so that we don't have the issue any more of a your area may go first and your deadline has passed but the forum is still open we have that problem last year this year we have a separate registration form for each area so make sure you click on the correct one when you register then here you have the rules dr. Smith has already put up the maps that we're going to be using this year for the events that are using scantron now we're making sure that we put a copy of the current scantron with the rules so here's your scantron that you'll be using for forestry for this year and then again if you scroll down to the bottom we have the exams that you'll sexually be using if you're unaware for CDs the CD Board voted that for any CD that has an exam you'll be using the last five national exams as your te t banks so you can find those on the National FFA website but to make it easier for you we've also uploaded all of them onto our site and again you could go through each of these events they're all clickable and you'll find information for your particular CTE or LDP but if we go back again any time we have conferences or events coming up registrations for Capitol pay convention will be building this site we still have in from that we need to put on these links and as we go as they get closer we'll start putting more information but for example if you went to camp this summer if you needed to register for camp you would have been able to find all that here on the site so again very user friendly we think it is we're hoping that's it's more logical in the way that it's put together hopefully it will cut down some of your stress and trying to search for things on the national and state website and if you you know if you have any questions about it please make sure you feel free to ask us dr. Smith is you have stuff about foundation Li ta y I'll share those pants real quick let me share my screen here where's my screen up yes sir it's a really good job of explaining everything that's on the association page in the home page mr. Luzerne I want to remind everybody that registrations for all CES closed a week before the CDE and there's late charges for every day late and you have to register by phone after the registration page closes so if your CDE is on a Tuesday then the registration closes at midnight on the Tuesday before so it's it's really important that that folks register on time it's one of the reasons we had to get those individual sites because we have to have individual endings we went to tell the site to shut down the individual day since none of our contest area contest happened on the same day so just want to remind everybody to be diligent with that we have a policy to enforce on registration deadlines and we're going to be really consistent with that moving forward so from the home page we'll look at a look at the la ta page first though so anything AG education as far as resources IBC's webinars videos signing up for la tech conferences everything AG education can be found here so start to click it up let's just look at the the AG in weekly though the weekly emails that are sent out these are updated from this school year so every week we copy and paste last week's update in case someone has lost their email or changed parishes and no longer have their previous email and they want to get caught up on on the the news from the week that was sent out before they can get it there mr. Luzerne x' wednesday updates have a tab here where folks can also get a PDF version of his email and it may may turn out to be something useful for folks later catch up on the news that they may have miss I know we had a situation this week where folks couldn't get my email that for some reason their school board kicked it out and this web site was a way that they actually could get their information you know if job opening is when they're available here at the LA ta page la ta conference information will be there this is one of those sites we'll have to build as we get more information about next year's conference when we know it's an agonist we just don't have enough information really build that site yet T Jack page you can get a lot of different information here from the teach AG page about that particular campaign that doctor started us such a great job with our agar science teacher hall-of-fame is also on the la ta webpage if you would like to nominate someone it's a Google Doc you can apply for that here you have to nominate someone there so over here on the right is our two credential IBC areas Agriculture Tech will have the fact sheet the study guide and and importantly for folks they had a hard time finding some of these documents on the DOA website so we kind of put everything act tech and everything forestry that you need right here in this one spot so for instance if you need to know where to find the student information release form which is something he's probably getting filled out this time of year you can find it right here on the la ta webpage the study got us here and the fact sheet as well but the forestry obviously people are going to want to share the forestry fact sheet with their supervisors and the coming months especially those that are that are certified they're gonna have questions about the qualifications for a kid to get the IBC and you can get them here under the testing details for instance you can go there and help educate your folks in your system is what it takes to get this credential they have to earn the AG tech credential first they have to score proficient and the Forester CBE and proficient is a 70% and then they'll be invited to the leaf exam which is going to be offered at least twice a year so some of those information some of those questions we answer a lot in the State Office and through email can be found right here we're going to have a forestry course that will be eligible CD for CDF funding and that course code of course is right here so hoping to use this l88 pages all things Aggie ed and IBC in la ta related so take advantage of that we posted our leaf exam that we gave at la ta I posted a copy of it with a key so you can actually feel folks that are coming to the one held on September 19th you can look at some of the questions and the answers to the to the last leaf exam and we'll follow this format as well as we can I don't plan on changing the types of questions of course the you know cherry-bark oak was number one when we were in Natchez State Park but who knows what that tree will be or what the size of that tree will be at our next contest we'll follow this same format you know five or six seven questions per tree we just don't know what those trees will be once again a great resource you can you can see how we broke this thing down and use that to prepare not only yourself but your students in the future as we get a critical mass of teacher certified will we'll need to use these resources that help to help students prepare as well and another important document is a BMP manual there will always be a part of the BMP manual on our leaf exam and will help identify parts of the manual that were important this year is going to be streamside management zones which I believe is down here close to page 80 we've told people that they need to understand as much as they can about streamside management zones this year when preparing for the leaf exam okay moving moving away from the forestry obviously in the AG tech IBC there's some more than other important documents on the l88 home page in terms of bulletins 7:41 legislative matters as well as la ta Constitution bylaws and membership forms so if you have any questions about the newly I'm going to Constitution bylaws you can get it here if your kids are in need of their senior egghead student teacher scholarship I believe that's the student-teacher scope and the option that information can be found here as well bullets in 741 this is the entire bulletin which is quite a lengthy document this is a hundred page document that not only covers again but covers all of CTE covers basically education in Louisiana so what mr. Luzerne has done is actually taken highlights from bullets in 741 and condensed it and put are chapters that deal specifically with Ag education in one place and this is a this helps you take that hundred page document and break it down into about two pages so whenever we talk about equipment and square footage per student you get that here 75 square feet per strain in heavy equipment Laboratories in light equipment laboratories 50 square feet per student when you scroll down and it talks about 12-month employment all AG teachers employed shall teach a 12 month program and the details of what that twelve month program should look like are also culminated here furthermore your requirements additional program approval procedures out of our office all of these benchmarks should be met so it's it's a it's a neat easy place to find all the requirements from bulletins 741 and I don't think we've had that before but now we have it on the la ta home page and if you want the entire bulletin you can unload it here as well we've made a checklist for teachers we'll be using this on our school visits when we come through in the fall it's just a basically a checklist that coincides with bulletins 741 so we can get an idea of how effective our programs are we've got some Attorney General's opinions here I'll let you guys check that out on your own to see our most recent Attorney General's opinion on 12-month employment so that is the la ta webpage one more thing before we go which is really important you got lesson plan resources and AG education curriculum as well I get questions all the time about AG 1 act 2 act 3 framework and here they are under this tab underneath the la ta webpage and you get a lot more in all of our curriculums as you go through this page of course the big three in our programs right now with the AG tech credential growing like it is is AG 1 act 2 and AG 3 take a quick look at the foundation page mr. lazaar brought us here earlier from the from the quick link off the homepage these are links from Olivar not all of our sponsors that's from some of our larger sponsors for folks who want to know more about partnership opportunities they can look at what it takes to sponsor say something like the state degree or a career development event sponsorship sae sponsorships taking mention sponsorship this donate Now button as well brings you to the Pay Pal where folks can can donate to the foundation and go back to the foundation tab if you look at our Foundation board of directors updated on the foundation tab get a little bit about us as far as what is the FFA foundation and here by clicking on the AG education license plate itself we created a link that will take you to the website from the Department of Motor Vehicles and you can actually start the process of ordering your FFA license plate so that's that's something that we hope folks we'll begin to use to order their FFA license plate because remember from every registration of an FFA license plate the foundation gets an automatic donation into their checking account from the from the Louisiana Department of Transportation so that's that's a potential huge fundraiser for our foundation and then we have the it's never been easier than now to actually access and order your own FFA foundation license plate and I think everybody should have one alumni page we'll go over some some quick things they're there they're still working on this page a good bit we've got some chartering information in the handbook to help folks who want charter their own alumni chapter as well as the tax information that you have to fill out at the federal government if you'd like to to start your own alumni chapter in your own in your own school alright that's a quick rundown I kind of reiterate where we started with mr.
