Frequently asked questions
How do i add an electronic signature to a word document?
When a client enters information (such as a password) into the online form on , the information is encrypted so the client cannot see it. An authorized representative for the client, called a "Doe Representative," must enter the information into the "Signature" field to complete the signature.
How do i sign digital documents?
This is actually really simple. Once you have your public keys on the server, simply use the web interface that comes with the server.
To sign the document, type:
sign
Note: If you are not sure about the security, you can always sign the document as a regular user with this command:
sign
Note: If the signed text contains a private key, you need to replace the -k with the password that you generated during the client login.
After you finished the sign request, the server should send a signed message containing your information along with your public keys and the signed document to the client. It might take some time to get the result from the server. When the message is ready, you should look at it.
You need to sign the document by inserting this text at the bottom of the document:
<Signature>
...<Signature>
</Signature>
You should replace this text with a signature. To generate a new signature, type:
gen-sign
The server will sign your message and send you the result.
After you have a signature, use the client to send the document to your email address. Your email addresses need to match with those on the server and on the server's database.
If you are having problems signing the signed document and/or if you need help, please read the Signing section of the documentation.
Note: If there are more than one of the same document on the same account, you need to sign all the documents in order to get rid of conflicts.
