I remember my college days when I would study 10 hours on a fateful day to end up so exhausted that I barely touched my books the rest of the week. Be it your body, be it your mind, rest is what resets you to get going again. To regain requisite perspective about everything you wish to do, go in a decent corner of your room and sit relaxfully and meditate. You eventually feel relieved, rejuvenated and confident.Pursue your hobby. The best thing with hobbies is that you simply let go of yourself while doing it. Its not related to your annual incrememt or your promotion. Ummm wait a minute. Nowadays, if you have a hobby, it actually takes you places professionally. Hmmm… go in the field and hit that ball fella…Pamper yourself. Dont be too harsh on yourself. Let your guards down. Enjoy what you like be it music, food, a trip down south etc. Cherish your free time by doing what counts (not in a serious way). Invite friends over. Treat yourself with something exotic. The list could be endless. You are the best judge my friend…I really believe that conserving energy is generating energy. So prevent wasteful expenditure on booze and smokes. Share your interests and learn about the interests of your co-workers. Communicating will help your day go by quicker.You can also take several breaks. I will often take about 3–4 “bathroom breaks” where I just sit in a stall and look through my phone. Also, for my lunch break, I will take my car and park in a parking lot of a different business in order to get some “me time”. Sometimes I’ll even drive home for lunch since I live close and my job doesn’t stress about coming in late from lunch.But overall, you need to begin with the end in mind. One thing you know for sure is that you will eventually leave work and be at home relaxing at the end of the day. You will get through this day the same way you’ve gotten through every other day of your life. Focus on the positive and don’t allow the negative to affect your mood.
