How do I learn to say no?
Saying "no" unskillfully nearly cost me my life. I was trained to be firm and calm; to repeat "no" as many times as necessary until the boundary was made clear. "No," they said, "is a complete sentence." One of the things we teach, in my job with court-mandated clients, is discipline, and one of the ways we do this is by enforcing punctuality. On a summer afternoon, 15 minutes into a process group, a young stranger threw open the door and walked in. He was short, maybe 5' 1, and pale. His pants hung low on his hips and, looking back, he was too confident for someone wearing a plaid golf cap too big for his head. I asked him to step outside with me - as was company policy - to explain how to attend a make-up activity and send him on his way. I was half standing when he said, "No. I'm staying." He was physically in front of the closed door. "You can come back next week, but I can't allow you to attend today." "You will let me attend today." "No, I can not." After several long minutes of back and forth I finally said. "I can't allow you to attend, but I am not going to physically force you out the door. You will be getting no credit for today. You need to leave." I sat back down with the group. "What's a situation in your life when someone wouldn't take 'no' for an answer?" I asked. After five more minutes of being ignored he left, and the group continued. An hour later the group was over and I was standing outside my office talking to a client. One of the group members came running down the hall, eyes wide. "Diane! Don't go outside! He's waiting for you in the parking lot with a gun!" Long story short, he didn't shoot me or anyone else. By the time the authorities arrived he was gone. When we realized he wasn't in my paperwork and the clients who reported him melted away at the mention of the police I started shaking so much I had to sit down. The officer taking the report said, "People like this make a couple mortal enemies every day. Lay low for a bit and he'll quickly forget you in his rage at the checker in the grocery store." I found this equally distressing and comforting. I went to visit my godparents in the mountains. I refused the gun they offered when it was time to go home. I got and still keep big dogs at my house. For the next several months I scanned the faces of the hundreds of clients I passed in the halls at work. He showed up occasionally in my dreams, or his hat did at least, because in my memory I still can't see his face. One of my friends makes me laugh when he says the state motto of Arizona is "An armed society is a polite society." So, all this to say, here's how I've learned to say no: "I wish...but..." * "I wish I could let you into group late, but the state law says we can't." * "I wish I could include your ideas in my next workshop, but the curriculum is already worked out." * "I wish that I could lend you $100, but I am short this month." When things are intense I add "and" to the mix. * "I wish I could have you stay on my couch, but my home is my refuge and I need my quiet time." * "I wish I could just let you in this one time, but the law is really clear and I'd lose my job." If it gets emotional or extreme, I load on validation and send them somewhere for more help. * I know, it's awful. You came a long way and the bus was late, and if I could I would SO break the rules for you. Maybe you can head up to the front office and see about setting up a make up group right after group next week." "No," some people say, "is a complete sentence." It is; it's just not always the best sentence for the job. Image: Plaid Golf Cap Hat [ http://www.etsy.com/listing/79960122/plaid-golf-cap-hat ]

How do I sign of the word ''shallot'' and ''volumes'' with sign language?
Your question carries the presumption that there is a 1:1 relationship between English words and signs (in American Sign Lamguage or some other sign language). These are two very different languages. A good solution for you would be to consult a local Deaf person who is fluent in the intended sign language. Be prepared to give that person more context than you've given us.

What is maturity? How can the maturity of a person be defined?
Maturity...Maturity is what, when you realise that you have got over from your crush. You realise that his/her "last seen" and "status" don't bother you anymore. You don't get goosebumps seeing him/her. You realise that it all wasn't even worth. (Close friend's experience)Maturity is what, when you realise that the number of likes on your profile picture is not that important. You no longer care about the likes and comments.Maturity is what, when you realise that the answer of every "How are you?" is "Fine!".. Because you realise that the question isn't really a question! You everyday come across many people who ask this, but you can't tell your real situation, because you know no-one gives a damn about it. This is just a formality.Maturity is what, when your phone becomes more important than the TV. (Except some of the famous series like Friends)Maturity is what, when you realise that quality of friendship is more important than quantity of friends. You must have got only few friends, but they mean everything to you.Maturity is what, when you realise that the real world is much more beautiful than the virtual world. You enjoy musical chairs and hide & seek more than Facebook and WhatsApp.Maturity is what, when you realise that Quora-ing is more enjoyable than chatting. You don't need to wait for the replies from a known anymore and then end up having your mood wrecked. You can just enjoy an unknown's answer to an unknown's question, and end up making your favorite answer bookmarked. (I bookmark a lot :P)Maturity is what, when you realise that you are strong still, even after seeing your dreams shattered. You know that life isn't that easy as shown in TVs and books. Sometimes, you don't get your dreams come true, but you know that you have to be hard like rock.Maturity is what, when you realise that it is life. You will fall. And you have to get up, yes again! You have to get up again and again and again, till you signNow your destination. Remember Sylvester Stallone's favorite quote! (My personal favorite too)The world ain't all about sunshine and rainbows. Its a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain't about how hard you are hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving FORWARD. How much you can take and keep moving FORWARD. That's how winning is done! If you know what you are worth, then go out and get what you are worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers say 'You ain't what you wanna be because of him, or her or anybody. Cowards do that, and that ain't you! You're better than that!!(You can read my answer on What are some examples of people who never gave up in life?)Maturity is what, when you realise that moving on is the only method to survive in this world. Be it a heartbreak or a professional failure, you have to move on from that sh*t. You can't screw few more moments of your life thinking about few bad past memories.Maturity is what, when you realise that you don't give a damn sh*t to what people think about you. You just don't care, so do they.Maturity is what, when you realise that you value yourself more than anybody else. Only you are gonna stay with you in your hard times, no one else; not even your close friends.Maturity is what, when you realise that you don't write answers for views and upvotes anymore. You are more into sharing your experiences. (But yes, these do motivate :P)Maturity is not just what I wrote above. It is a way more than that. Its more like experiencing it, rather than learning about it.These were few of my personal and closed one's experiences. Will be glad to know yours :)More points are warmly welcomed :)Few more:Maturity is what, when you realise the importance of your words. You know when to be silent and when to speak up. (Credit: Pratik Thacker). You choose to be silent to an egoistic enemy at your professional place, who is yelling at you, with no reason. And you choose to speak when someone starts taking your silence for granted, and thinking it to be your weakness.Maturity is what, when you realise that its all okay for not getting blue double tick on your message instantly on WhatsApp even when the other person is online. You no longer make issues over such small things. Its just normal for you. This answer can continue..Some more (5th Jan 2017):Maturity is what, when you realise that you were hurt yesterday, you cried all night in your cubicle, and the world didn’t even get to know. You don’t put those gloomy words on your status anymore, publicizing your pain, because you now know that no-one other than you can help.Maturity is what, when you choose responsibilities over desires. You prefer going with your mother for grocery shopping than enjoying with your girlfriend.Maturity is what, when you meet everybody with a big smile. You understand that line “Everyone is fighting their own battles”.While replying to a comment on this answer today, I realised that Maturity is limitless. You can approach it. But you can’t signNow it.

How do I tell my neighbors that their 17-month-old shows signs of autism? Update 6: The child is 2.5 years , and has not acquire
I haven’t read all the answers, though I see an overwhelming response to do nothing. THIS IS THE WRONG THING TO DOI also have 2 autistic children. The first was unofficially “diagnosed” by a technician when we were getting his hearing checked. She bluntly told us that our son probably has autism. We were absolutely furious at her and thought she was the biggest bluntest bi+c# in the world. That night we went home and started googling autism, and a week later we started therapy. Had she not told us, it could have been months or even years until he was diagnosed.6 months later my youngest son was diagnosed because we knew what to look for, and was one of the youngest children to ever get the diagnosis in Pittsburgh (back then, they will not diagnose autism until a child turned 2)I now can easily spot warning signs, and have on several occasions. I can not formally diagnose it, but almost all the parents complain that they’re child is behind in speech, or maybe doesnt respond to his name, is an extremely fussy eater etc… My answer to them is that the best thing you can do as a parent if you have ANY developmental concerns is to contact their local early intervention unit (in Pittsburgh it’s the Alliance for Infants and Toddlers).Every child in the US is entitled to free evaluation, and if they are far enough behind the curve (even if they don’t have an official diagnosis), they are entitled to free services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nutritional therapy etc.So if you see a child that has early warning signs of any delay, talk to them about any concerns they may have, and tell them that there are FREE programs out there that can provide FREE in-home therapy (yes, they come to your home, daycare etc..) for any child with a signNow delay. I agree it’s not your place to diagnosis, but it is your place to keep the parents informed of their options and encourage them to take advantage of the programs being paid for by their tax dollars.

How do I write a character speaking with sign language and which words (said, laughed, etcetera) should I use to describe that?If you have to ask this question, I have to ask one in return, and it’s an important question: do you know anything about Deaf people at all?Deaf people laugh, sing, sneeze, talk, speak, converse, groan, ask, scream, tease, recite, cough, confirm, insult, burp, request, hoot, order, cheer, and live full authentic euphemism free lives in whatever language is appropriate for that individual, their cultural needs, and where they live. There are no special words. Does the Deaf person speak ASL? Then they speak ASL. Does the Deaf person write in English? Then they speak English just as much as you do.While I am bilingual, and use either language as is appropriate, and I often come from a different perspective than those in the majority culture, the truth is that I am a creature no more than you are. The interactive and expressive terminology are not different and are part and parcel of being social and expressive humans.

How do I become an Amazon seller?
Amazon signNowed $100 billion in annual sales this year, but there’s something else you may not have heard: Over 40 percent of merchandise sales are attributed to third-party sellers. That means that over $40 billion in sales is going to outside merchants.Amazon may be the largest Internet retailer in North America, but it’s the merchants who are pocketing the most money. That’s not the only surprise you may learn about the ecommerce behemoth. So, if you’re interested in getting your own chunk of the Amazon pie, here area few myths about Amazon illustrating that it may not be exactly what you thought:1. That Amazon is 'just another website'Amazon is the king of ecommerce websites. Social-media butterflies use Facebook to engage with friends. Internet users search Google for answers to questions. Online shoppers go to Amazon to do one thing: buy.Given that $100 billion in expected annual sales, Amazon is the king of online markets. It has built-in trust, its buyers' payment information is already saved and Prime members receive two-day shipping on all Prime-eligible orders. So Amazon can’t be beat when it comes to choosing an ecommerce platform to sell on.If you’re serious about succeeding in ecommerce, chances are you stand to gain by selling on Amazon.2. That selling on Amazon has to be difficultYou may think it’s difficult to switch from fulfilling your own orders to selling on Amazon, but for many merchants, the site actually makes their lives easier. Amazon has streamlined the fulfillment process through its Fulfillment by Amazon program. For a small fee, Amazon will handle the majority of fulfilment and customer support tasks, which means zero phone calls, no shipping problems and less hassle for you, the merchant. All you have to do is ship your product, and Amazon will take care of the rest.3. That you can’t be successful selling on Amazon todayThere are multiple success stories of sellers going from zero to five figures a month in just a few weeks' time.If you think you’ve missed the boat on selling on Amazon, you’re wrong. The boat is still very much in the harbor, and there’s still time for you to get on board.First, setup an Amazon seller account. For the time being, you can select the option to ‘Sell as an Individual’ and avoid the monthly fee. Next, add FBA to your seller account.Round up your ‘valuable goods’ and, if possible, pack them up into individual boxes. Doing so will prepare you for the next step, which is setting up and managing where your shipped stuff will live on Amazon.Sign in at Amazon Seller Central and go to the Inventory menu. Choose to ‘Add a listing.’ Because Amazon stores and tracks inventory in marked boxes, you will also need to create a new box for each individual box you send.Hopefully, your inventory items will have easily identifiable codes like a UPC or ISSN, but if not, you can also search on an identical item using Amazon’s search function. When you find a match, click ‘Sell Yours.’After adding some product descriptors, be sure to check off that the item is going to be sold through FBA. Also, you should switch from the default Individual to Case-Packed Items mode. Why?You will inevitably be shipping multiple identical items of something (e.g., DVDs), and you will want Amazon to track these multiple items separately. FBA does this by assigning cases. For example, if you have only one DVD to ship, you’d mark it as 1 unit (i.e., article type) per case and 1 number per case. But if you have three of the same DVD to ship, you’d mark them as 1 unit per case and 3 numbers per case.Keep hitting ‘Add a Listing’ until all your boxed items are cataloged. Now, click ‘Work on Shipment.’ This will allow you to create and print shipping labels for your box(es). Choose SPD (small parcel delivery) as your shipping option unless your boxed items weigh over 150 lbs. The other options are LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload), and hopefully you won’t need to worry about these massive haul options for now.Select UPS as your carrier because it partners with Amazon; in other words, using UPS gives you a shipping discount. Now you can start printing out your packing slips and shipping labels. To this end, it helps if you have an at-home scale that will immediately weigh your boxes. If not, you can input the dimensions of your box(es) online and have it weighed out at your local UPS. Just be sure you eventually print out your labels using FBA and not your local UPS- Amazon’s reduced shipping rates will amaze you (sorry about the pun).Once you’ve mailed your box(es), you can track your shipments, and eventually your unpacked inventory, via Amazon. There might be an Amazon App for thatNot all of us are blessed with a smartphone, but if you do have one, you can easily scan your goods and determine their immediate value using either an iOS or Android-based price checker Amazon app on your smartphone. This is useful if you’re dealing with a lot of inventory or prone to checking out store clearance sales for additional merchandise. One free iPhone-based Amazon app is Amazon Seller. The FBAScan app is available for both types of phone systems but requires an Amazon Pro Seller account for activation. Some things to keep in mind1. You pay for shipping. As hinted at above, you are responsible for your own shipping charges to Amazon. This is something to keep in mind as you’re considering packing away Grandma’s 50’s era glassware or your priceless 8-track collection.2. Seller fees. Amazon still takes about a 15% cut on all your sales through FBA. If you can sell your items more profitably through a garage sale or private listing on Ebay, then do so.3. Additional fees. Amazon has a fee schedule for item pickup (basically, anytime Amazon employees must handle your product to stock or ship it) and storage as well as weight-based fees for item shipping. Nothing is free here. Amazon also recently instituted a Long Term Storage fee for items stored longer than one year.4. Co-mingling issues. Because Amazon has numerous distribution centers, it uses the distribution center located closest to the customer when shipping product. As a result, the product you end up selling may not actually be your own if you agree to co-mingle your merchandise. This can happen easily if, say, you are selling a DVD or book that another Amazon seller may also have listed. The advantage of using co-mingling is that you sell more of your stuff faster. The disadvantage is that you can’t exactly vouch for the quality and legality of another seller’s merchandise. This can lead to problems or even Amazon account closure because of pirated goods.5. Sales tax. You may live in a state that requires you to report your sales tax (e.g., Missouri). Alternately, your items might be shipped off to a state that charges sales tax. However, when you work with FBA, you have no good way of knowing which warehouse is stocking your items (especially if you’re comingling) and to which state(s) they are being shipped. While most state ecommerce tax collection has not been aggressively enforced, it may become so in the future.6. Competition. With FBA, you’re not just competing with other third-party merchants on price and selection, you’re also competing with Amazon itself. This is possibly the biggest strike against FBA versus a selling service like Ebay or Etsy. Definitely check Amazon prices for comparable goods before sending your own stuff to FBA.The Best Training Course We’ve FoundJim Cockrum’s Proven Amazon Course is ideal for anyone who wants to order products wholesale from other countries. Jim also offers an online community, additional strategy guides and online tools- among other goodies. Jim’s course looks to be a highly reviewed, cost affordable program for those looking to get started with selling on Amazon using a proven method.

How do I remove this sign from my Microsoft Word blank page?
The marks to which you are referring are called crop marks. Now that you know their name, you can search for information about them. Not a criticism, as how is one to know the name? Maybe an image search. Hmmm.Anyway, here’s a nice description which may help to know about them:“You can show crop marks in Word, but you cannot print them. If you open your document in Microsoft Publisher you can print printer’s marks, such as crop marks, in your printed copy.Publisher is included in Office Standard, Professional, and Professional Plus. If you’re not familiar with it, here's how to get started....

How to use electronic signature paint?
Here is how to use electronic signature paint:
1. Get started in this tutorial, and follow all steps.
2. Take your digital signature and print it on a piece of paper, paper that is not too thick. You can use a regular paper for that. We recommend paper with the same color as your skin, as it will ensure that your signature will be easy to see. If your signature does not fit on your paper, it will be very difficult to see on it.
3. Get a paint marker. You would be surprised how much this costs, and for good reasons. We've found cheap paint markers at local craft shops. If you can't make these yourself, then get a good brand like Tacky or Wet N' Wild. You can buy these at local craft stores, or you can buy them online. We buy ours at , where it costs just $ for a ounce bottle.
4. After you've purchased and used a paint marker, take that paint marker to a surface that is not too slick for ink to adhere to, and lightly paint your digital signature onto it. This will not be too messy, and it is a good idea to paint lightly, since the thicker the paint, the more ink that will be needed.
5. Place your signature on the paper that you want your digital signature on, such as a piece of newspaper.
6. Using the tip of the paint marker, apply very light pressure to the paper with a very light stroke. The lighter your stroke, the harder it will be to see. You want it to be very lightly brushed, without the brush leaving any ink on the paper.
7. Remove the paper from the paper hol...
