If you downloaded the PDF file in a different format (for example, not PDF) then you'll need to install Acrobat so that Adobe Reader can read the file. The easiest way to do this is to use Adobe Acrobat Reader. The PDF file must be saved in a format that is compatible with Adobe Reader. If you have a PDF document that is a .DOC file but that file is set to read in .PPT, it's probably incompatible with Acrobat.
