What is the most effective way to send large video files through e-mail?
The standard answer is that you put the video somewhere accessible by URL and send a link to it. OS X Mail will do this automatically (though it's not very flexible). Many people use Google Drive, DropBox, Amazon S3, and other cloud storage options for this purpose. While there is hypothetically no limit to the size of an e-mail message, in practice, many e-mail systems impose quotas on mailbox size and limits on message size (my employer imposes a 15M cap on mail messages and a 2.5G quota on the mailbox). Because SMTP mail has to be ASCII encoded, binaries (like video) have to undergo an encoding process (Base64) that effectively increases the file size by 35% - demanding more space.TL;DR: Don't send large files by e-mail. Put the file somewhere and send a link to it.

After getting my ass kicked by a drunk driver, what is a really bad ass e-commerce question that I should spend the next day or
What are fashion brands' biggest pain points today? I leave this wide open. Take whatever angle you want and feel free to break it down by functional area. To what degree is 'a good edit' enough in ecommerce? Nastygal and ModCloth are two examples that have done well because they have developed a clear point of view and curated a specific style for a specific demographic. This is what has driven their success . While they have some simple, nuanced additions to their online stores, it's pretty much just the curation that drives people to the store. Yet, with all of the new models emerging, it seems consumers are expecting more than just curation and looking for 'curation plus discount', 'curation plus content plus discount' , 'curation plus subscription', 'curation plus N factors'. What are interesting new ways to blend commerce and content? Business of Fashion just wrote this article on rap video meets ecommerce. There is a HUGE untapped territory leveraging content including video , text, imagery, etc... where it's a blended experience. What are some potential interesting permutations of this? What are trends in manufacturing ? With increasing costs in China, desires for Just-In-Time manufacturing to an extreme, campaigns around increasing US manufacturing , 3D manufacturing , etc... how will manufacturing evolve and what are the challenges associated with these shifts both on a macro and micro level. There seems to be a shift from people going to department stores when they want to find something specifically, similar to Amazon in the online context. However, people tend to frequent vertically integrated stores like J. Crew, Banana Republic, Zara/H&M/Forever 21, etc... when they want to browse and discover. Also, people go to J. Crew because they have trust with the brand but also enough to discover. Though, a lot of the ones I mention also have a lot of physical stores and thus could be successful due to convenience as one factor. Yet, the latter does not seem to have an online-only comparison that's really taken off. To what degree do you think this offline behavioral shift will translate online? Or in another way of saying, will we see more online-only vertically integrated models (e.g. J. Crew) become successful and commonplace online? What are the challenges or differences with this shift online? How can one effectively build a brand online? (follow up to previous) I know you wrote something previously on Brand Psychology, so as a following, how can a brand be build online (e.g. Bonobos, Warby Parker, Everlane, etc...) How large and sustainable is subscription ecommerce? Obviously, you have a connection to Manpacks , and then JustFab today said they will be doing $100M in revenues by end of 2012. However, how sustainable is this given it is extremely challenging to maintain share of the consumer's wallet consistently and delight a customer every month. Which categories will be able to scale and achieve these levels better than others? Also, Shoedazzle's refocus might be a telling data point, so what do you think of that shift? If you want to start manufacturing a good, what is the best way to get started? I've had this conversation with a lot of people, and it is a cagey world with limited resources . I've been helping some folk but have limited actual experience in different component from concept to sample to batch production onward. So, what are different recipes and resources for early stage brand manufacturers : how to do production, how/where to qualify a manufacturer , quality control, etc... I can ask more questions if you like... I have an endless list , and with every answer brings up new questions. If you don't like any or need clarification, please lmk! If you want to answer one of them, I'll go ahead and ask it.Oh, and I have opinions on all of them, so curious to hear your perspectives. Thus, if you write something on one of the aforementioned, it'll hopefully incite me to actually do some more writing (or rap/jam --as you like to call it--with you one of these topics)...

What is one thing that I can learn from you today?
* Recently I visited a Burger King restaurant with my friend in west Delhi. By looking around for best seat, we settled and then went to cash counter for ordering something. * There was a lady waitress at the counter (most of the people obey what she ask to purchase at the counter just because they feel ashamed) * She asked us about our order, I ordered 2 veg burgers with cold drinks. * She replied - Sir, could I add a combo in which you will get extra french fries for lil more money. I was hungry so I said yes. * Then she asked me whether I want extra cheese or not, she said this too fast that I was unable to hear and I listened her voice as (sir, ex - t - tease). * I asked her to speak again and clearly so that I can understand it properly then she said gently this time - sir, extra cheese? I said Ohk. * She added 30 more rupees in the bill and I said you just added extra 30, is it just for cheese? she said yes. * I asked her to take back the cheese, as I am not going to pay 30 rupees for a cheese worth rupees 10. * The group of girls around me was looking at me as I did some crime, but I don't care even it's my money and I can spend it wherever I want. %3E Now she made the bill of 167₹ and gave me 30₹ back. She doesn’t gave me remaining 3₹ coins and asked me to donate it in their charity/development fund. I simply said a No, I would love to take my remaining money back. ( I can't trust them that where they will use this money they were asking to donate and in reality they use it for themselves only, i would love to donate in NGO’s or old age Home rather than these 5 star restaurants) This time the girls around the counter were giving more dangerous look accompanied by the waitress. (Lekin apan ko fark nahi padta pese mere hain jahan marji vahan kharch karun) * Actually most of the people (commonly boys) couldn't say a no to the girls and that too in restaurants and mall but this is not fair everyone has the right to spend their hard earned money wherever they want, no one could force us. * Don't think that giving them extra ₹ in front of girls or anyone would make you cool actually they are making you fool. (Don't feel ashamed to ask them even for your single coin, money is what you should value and specially when you are not earning it) So, you can learn a habit of denying someone at any level if it's related to you and your money.

What are the best tricks you know and want to share?
I am a YouTube addict and here are a few YouTube tricks that I know:To create funny GIF files from your favourite videos just add GIF in the video url before YouTube. This will take you to the GIF center. Here you can also add various other effects and captions too.To download a YouTube video, type magic You and Tube in the video URL i.e. YoumagicTube followed by the other part of the URL. Here you can download the video in various formats. This hack is quite helpful.Search #artistname to land on a musician’s topic page. Eg.- #AdeleKeyboard Shortcuts: k = pause or play j = rewind 10 seconds l = fast-forward 10 secondsm = mutef = full screenNumber 0 = go to the beginning of the video Numbers 1 to 9 = jump to 10% to 90% of the videoWhile captions are on: + = make caption font bigger - = make caption font smallerIf you want to share a video at a specific time during the video i.e. like lets say after 1 min 5 seconds right click on the video and select “Get Video URL at specific time”.There is an app called Kids Youtube available in the playstore which is a very handy app for your kids. It has all your Kid’s favourite shows along with various other videos related to their education, fun etc. There are a bajillion videos on Youtube so trying to find that specific Youtube video you want to watch is an adventure by itself. You might find yourself crawling through dozens of pages hoping to land the video you actually want to watch. The solution for this time-consuming exercise is to add allintitle: before the keywords you are search for. What it does is basically provide you with only videos that include the chosen keywords. If you are listening to a song and want to hear the song on a loop, then simply add repeat after YouTube in the URL i.e. YouTubeRepeat followed by the URL as usual. At the bottom of the screen (when you access YouTube through a browser) you will find an option called “Try Something New”. Here you will have certain features that are not launched yet by YouTube, which you can try in advance. This feature is actually very cool.Hope this helps!

What is the most asked question on Quora (by the number of questions merged into it)?
As someone who writes mostly technology-related answers, I see the following question so much it makes me want to tear my hair out:“Can iCloud Activation Lock be Bypassed?”For those who don’t know, Apple devices that have an iCloud account active on them with Find My iPhone enabled will lock the device to that Apple ID even if it is restored to factory defaults. This is designed to prevent thievery, since stolen devices (typically iPhones) are useless without the Apple ID password they are locked with to unlock it. It is incredibly common for people to sell devices without removing the lock beforehand (likely because they don’t know it exists, or how to remove it) or because it is stolen. Either way, the lock cannot be bypassed without that password… but that doesn’t stop everyone and their mother from asking if it can be done as if the rules somehow don’t apply to them.Instead of viewing the answers on an existing question, or even asking new people to answer that existing question, they make a new one. Every. Single. Time. Quora is absolutely flooded with these questions, and I get A2A requests for them more than anything else.

What are the features which make Box, DropBox, and Google Drive different from each other?
From the perspective of plans, storage, uptime etc I think no real differentiator exists among these options. Dropbox has less free storage, but it is easy to get more by referral etc. Also the paid plans are almost equivalent. And policy wise also they are same (like they'd control the content if they so wish). So, from an end user perspective, integration with other applications (both from desktop and mobile) will make the difference. With gdrive, all other google apps will support it (if not already). E.g. gmail, youtube, google+, keep, google app engine, blogger, play uploads. Also any photo taken by mobile, automatically can go to gdrive for backup. Dropbox can do the latter, also alongwith Microsoft Onedrive/skydrive they have Windows explorer integration so those drives appear as a mapped network drive to you. So if you use files as files, maybe dropbox kind of solution would be easier, but if your files are photos/videos that you want to share using other apps (email/blog...) maybe google drives is a better choice.

What are some awesome Google products/services very few people know about?
Use Google Location History to Find Where You Have Traveled!!(This is my recent travel on timeline) :)Google can track a lot of things. Your Timeline is a Google Maps tool that enables the users to track the places that they have visited on any given day. Your Timeline shows the routes that they took to signNow there, and the photos that they clicked on the way, which Google neatly stores away into Google Photos. The feature claims that Your Timeline is private and only you can see it. With the same technology Google tells you about the real time traffic information. You may not be aware of Your Timeline feature. Take it if you like to be tracked 24X7 or leave it if you do not want to be tracked. Maybe you are okay if you get tracked occasionally. The choice is yours! It is a known feature, we have read about it often but still not many people use it. Some are using it without being aware that they are using a feature that is tracking their every movement.Enable Location HistoryIf you have a Google account, you can use the Timeline feature on your Android mobile phone. Google tracks your location through Google Maps, which works on the Android phone and the web as well. Google also uses your search and browser information, GPS, Wi-Fi, cell towers and device sensors like gyroscopes and accelerometers to create your timeline. To access this feature, you must enable the Location History on computer or on your mobile phone. Thanks for reading hope it's helpful… :))
